Transportation |
|
| |
|
|
| |
While we take care of transportation to
all itinerary destinations, here are some helpful transportation
tips for time on your own.
BOSTON
Boston is a wonderful walking city, with a small city center. The
city also has excellent taxi service and an extensive subway system
that Bostonians call "The 'T.'" Most trains (color-coded as green,
red, orange and blue) run every few minutes and will take you nearly
everywhere you want to go. While in Newport, RI, there is an
inexpensive shuttle system as well as taxi service that can provide
transportation to many of the major attractions and mansions in the
area. In addition, there is a hotel shuttle available to guests for
service to the Old Town area of Newport.
Tourist trolleys are another good way to get around. Most permit
unlimited boarding, so you can have lunch or shop, and see the city
at your own pace. Taxis operate on metered city fares and are easy
to get in downtown Boston until midnight, when bars close and the
subway shuts down.
NEW YORK
If you have the time, walking is the best way to navigate New York
City, especially when exploring a few neighborhoods. If you're
familiar with the subway and bus system, both are inexpensive and
convenient. A Fun Pass, which you can buy at newsstands, hotel
lobbies and vending machines in most subway stations, gives you
unlimited use of both systems for an entire day. Some people may
find that a cab is the easiest choice. |
