Travel Tips - What To
Know Before You Go
Start planning your Adventures
by Disney Central Italy family vacation with this list of travel
tips that covers what to know before you go. |
|
|
Preparing for Your Adventure
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
 |
Required Travel Documentation |
|
| |
|
|
| |
If you are a U.S. citizen, a valid U.S.
passport is required to enter and depart Italy. Your passport must
be valid six months beyond your intended stay and have 1-2 blank
pages remaining. Guests must also provide evidence of return or
onward travel. U.S. citizens traveling on regular passports do not
need a visa for a stay of 90 days or less. Those planning a longer
visit must obtain a visa in advance of arrival. Allow yourself
sufficient time to have your application processed if you are
applying for a new passport or renewing an expired passport. Refer
to www.state.gov
for further details.
In addition, guests 17 years of age or younger may be required to
show additional documentation when traveling with a single parent.
If you are not a U. S. citizen, please check with the Italian
Embassy or Consulate at
http://www.ambwashingtondc.esteri.it for information on
documentation requirements.

You can apply for a passport through CIBT, Inc., a third party
travel document company servicing the travel industry (not
affiliated with the Walt Disney Company).

changes, we recommend that you check with your air carrier as well
as the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) web site
www.tsa.gov or
current restrictions.

Weather |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The Mediterranean climate of southern
Italy is milder and sunnier than the north, with dry summers and wet
autumns and winters. Along the coast, July is the hottest month of
the year with average temperatures ranging from 64 - 85°F (18 -
29°C), while January ranges from 38 - 54°F (3 - 12°C). The west
coast of Italy is generally wetter than the east coast as the
southern Sirocco wind brings high humidity along with the rain.
October, November and December are typically the wettest months of
the year. |

Currency |
|
| |
|
|

The official unit of monetary currency
is the Euro. ATM machines in Italy are known as "Bancomats" and are
readily available in the large cities and even in small towns. Most
reputable establishments will accept major credit cards, and those
that do will post the logos in their front windows. Overall, your
Adventure Guide can assist you with any currency issues or language
barriers you may have. |
