 |
Required Travel Documentation |
|
| |
|
|
| |
U.S. Guests 18 and over are required to
present valid and unexpired government-issued photo identification
(i.e., driver's license or passport) for air travel, and it may be
necessary to present this identification at other times during the
trip.
In addition, Guests 17 years of age or younger may be required to
show additional documentation when traveling with a single parent.
If you are not a U.S. citizen, please check with the U.S Department
of State at
www.state.gov/travelandbusiness for information on documentation

as the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) web site
www.tsa.gov for
current restrictions.

Transportation |
|
| |
|
|
| |
While we take care of transportation to
all itinerary destinations, here are some helpful transportation
tips for time on your own.
OLYMPIC VALLEY
The west Lake Tahoe area, including Olympic Valley, has several
sources of transportation. Tahoe Area Regional Transit or TART runs
along Highway 89 from Truckee to Tahoe City, Highway 28 from Lake
Tahoe to Incline Village, and Highway 267 from Incline Village to
Truckee. One-way adult fares are $1.50 and all day passes are $3.50.
Other methods of transportation include taxi cabs and limousine
service which can be arranged through your hotel.
YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK
Yosemite has only four roads and is often subject to traffic jams.
To avoid them, try YART (Yosemite Area Rapid Transit), which
operates on California 140 between Merced and Yosemite Valley.
SAN FRANCISCO
San Francisco is one of the great walking cities of the world, with
many neighborhoods abutting one another.
Other than walking, the best way to get around is a combination of
trolley, cable car, subway and bus. A "Muni" passport gives you
access to all but the cable car. Trolleys are best to travel main
streets like the Embarcadero (running along the water) and Market
Street. Cable Cars can take you to many of the main tourist sites,
though the wait can often be long. Cabs (a nice break from those
hills) are easy to find in the downtown areas, at least during
non-peak hours. The subway and bus can get you nearly everywhere in
the city. To get to places in the East Bay (such as Berkeley and
Oakland) jump on BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit). If traveling to the
North Bay (Marin County), it's easiest to rent a car. |
