My Top 5 Favorites at Disneyland!

The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim California is one of my favorite Disney Vacation destination. There are many unique and authentic experience that are exclusive to Disneyland. Today I am excited to share my top 5 favorite things at the Disneyland Resort!

Indiana Jones Adventure

My favorite ride at Disneyland is the Indiana Jones Adventure! This attraction sits in Adventureland at Disneyland park. The ride’s exterior is a giant temple and as you approach the entrance to the forbidden temple you are filled with the spirit of adventure! The queue line for this ride is so incredibly detailed. You are transported into the World of the famous archaeologist, Indiana Jones. Once you get to the loading station you will board a jeep and your bumpy, twisting and thrilling journey will begin. On your quest through the temple you will encounter rickety bridges, flying spears, fire effects, bats and even snakes… “why did it have to be snakes?!” The part in this attraction I love the most is when your jeep escapes in the nick of time from that iconic boulder! The Indiana Jones Adventure is fast-paced, action-packed and filled with excitement, make sure you join Indy on his adventure next time you’re in Disneyland!

Animation Academy

If you visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park on the east coast at Walt Disney World in years past then you might remember the Animation Academy! The attraction was a drawing class that gave visitors the opportunity to learn to draw many beloved Disney and Pixar characters. This experience was always a must do for my family and myself when we would visit Hollywood Studios. We loved it so much we would actually take a class and then jump right back in line for the next class so we could draw another character! The drawing made for a wonderful souvenir to bring home. My family still has a very large collection of our artwork! The Animation Academy at Hollywood Studios closed its doors about 2 years ago to make ways for the Star Wars Launch Bay. Animation Academy had a special place in my heart so you could image my excitement that the experience still lives on out on the west coast at the Disneyland Resort! The Animation Academy is located inside Disney’s California Adventure park.

Frozen Live at the Hyperion

Frozen Live at the Hyperion is a live action, Broadway-style production that performs at Disney’s California Adventure park. I personally am a huge fan of live action theater and this show left me awestruck! I went back the next day to watch it over again, I loved it that much! Everything about this production was top-notch, the actors, the music, the costumes, the special effects, the elaborate sets, everything was on another level! I think it’s safe to say the part of the show that leaves the entire audience wowed is when Elsa performs that famous anthem, “Let it go.” This scene is so powerful and involves outstanding special effects. Elsa preforms this beloved song while suspended on a rotating staircase that stretch out over the audience. And with some Disney and theatrical magic Elsa costume even changes right before our eyes. You have to see it to believe it! This was hands down the best show I have ever seen in any theme park anywhere. If you are a fan of Disney’s animated hit film Frozen or just appreciate theater you need to see the show!

Storybook Land Canal Boats

Nestled back in Fantasyland at the Disneyland park you will find another one of my favorite Disney attractions, the Storybook Land Canal Boats! This attraction to me captures pure Disney magic! You board a bright, pastel colored boat and begin your cruise. You sail past miniature villages and scenes that depict classic Disney movies. Your guide narrates the voyage with wonderful Disney storytelling. We are reminded along the way of the inspirational and uplifting messages from our favorite films. This attraction is simply beautiful! Each time I ride it I notice something different!

Disney Magic & History!

Number one on my list of favorite Disneyland things is not a ride or a show, instead it’s a feeling. That sounds very cheesy to say but it’s true! The thing that is most special to me about Disneyland is the history. As a mega-Disney fan, there is nothing like the feeling of being in a place filled with so much history and so much significance in the Disney story. Walking the streets, you are following in the footsteps of Walt Disney himself. All throughout the park there are reminders of the nostalgia and the magic everywhere you turn!

The above are a few of my favorite things about Disneyland but there are many more! Experience all that the original Disney park has to offer for yourself by planning a vacation to the Disneyland Resort. We here at Kingdom Magic Vacations are always happy to help you plan your next adventure!

Disneyland Announces, Tropical Hideaway Dining Location Coming to Adventureland!

Disneyland has announced a brand new dining location coming to Adventureland at the Disneyland park! The New dining location will be named The Tropical Hideaway. The new addition will be taking the place of Aladdin’s Oasis. Aladdin’s Oasis was themed to Agrabah, the land from the Disney film Aladdin. The area in recent years had been used mainly just for special events and occasionally overflow seating on busy days in the park. Prior to Aladdin’s Oasis the same area was once Tahitian Terrace. The area sits between The Enchanted Tiki Room and The Jungle Cruise. Now we know that this section of the park will be reimagined and we are looking forward to seeing what Disney does with this little nook of Adventureland!

Disney has released some concept art and some teasers as far as the theming of this new dining spot! We know that the area will be themed to a popular rest stop for Adventureland locals and weary explorers alike! Guests will be able to rub elbows with their favorite skippers in an exotic traders’ market, featuring all of the sights, sounds and flavors of the tropics.

From the sounds of this information I am reminded of the Skipper Canteen restaurant located in Adventureland at Walt Disney World in Florida. The Magic Kingdom table-service restaurant has a tropical atmosphere and an exotic menu that is authentic to the islands! The restaurant also has a lot of tie-ins and nods to the nearby classic Disney attraction, Jungle Cruise. However from the information released by Disneyland we do know that the new dining spot coming to Adventureland will not be a table-service location. But perhaps the theming could be similar. We are excited for the new addition and can’t wait to visit the Tropical Hideaway on future visits to Disneyland!

What Makes the Original Disneyland Park so Magical!

Everyone who knows me knows that I love all things Disney.  I am an Annual passholder at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida.  As someone who lives on the East Coast, the Walt Disney World Resort is the park that my family and I visit for our Disney vacations.  I have had the opportunity to visit the Disneyland® Resort two times in the past with my Aunt for a short visit each time.  It was very nice but I was much younger and we were only there for just a short visit so I did not get to experience all that the Disneyland Resort had to offer.  All of that changed this past May 2017 when my parents who are also Walt Disney World Annual passholders and I decided to do a bucket list trip that we always dreamed of to the original Disney park… Disneyland® Park!

My dad had only been to Disneyland Park as a four-year old and did not remember anything about the park and my mom had never had the opportunity to experience Disneyland Park.  My mom decided that for her birthday last year what she really wanted to do was finally take the trip across the country to visit the original Disney park that Walt created.

We planned a ten-day trip to California and we spent five days at the Disneyland Resort.  It was so nice to see my parent’s reaction to the original Disney park.  It is so different from the Walt Disney World Resort.  The first thing that is so amazing, is walking onto Disneyland Resort property and being in the hub with Disneyland Park on one side and Disney California Adventure® Park on the other and a few short steps away is Downtown Disney! Everything is within walking distance!  From a family that is use to the over 40 square miles at Walt Disney World, being at Disneyland and being able to stand in the central hub and see everything all at once was so different.

Walking into Disneyland Park’s Main Street, U.S.A., while being very similar to the version at the Walt Disney World Resort, there is a different feeling.  For my family, it was the knowledge that Walt Disney himself walked in the very same place.  I think that is what stood out best for us in this park.  Everything here was inspired by Walt and Disneyland Park’s walls are filled with so much history.  The castle is much smaller but everything on Main Street, U.S.A. was so quaint and charming.  We found ourselves walking much slower and just taking in all the details.

Here are some differences between sister attractions at the Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort.  You really need to visit the Disneyland Resort to experience the differences for yourself. Pirates of the Caribbean is much longer and starts out in an incredible Bayou scene which is authentic to the Disneyland version. There is even a restaurant inside the ride! The Blue Bayou restaurant overlooks the wonderful opening scene of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.  There are two drops in this version of the ride and many details that are not at the Walt Disney World Resort.  Then there is another classic Disney attraction, the Haunted Mansion. At the Disneyland Resort there are many differences from the version at the Walt Disney World Resort, from the Southern Mansion exterior to the Hatbox ghosts, not to mention the transformation to Haunted Mansion Holiday for the Halloween and Holiday seasons.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has more special effects that I hope they bring to the Walt Disney World Resort. Then there is the classic it’s a small world attraction, the Disneyland Park version features dolls themed to Disney characters all throughout which is so cute. We also loved being able to walk through Sleeping Beauty Castle. Inside the castle there is a walk-through which tells the story of Sleeping Beauty.  Being able to walk inside the famous castle was magical.  There are many classic dark rides that we loved like Alice in Wonderland, and Pinocchio’s Daring Journey. I think my favorite Fantasyland attraction would be the Storybook Land Canal Boats. Here you sail through beautiful miniature gardens that depict scenes from beloved Disney movies! There are so many experiences you can only find here at Disneyland Park.

If you love the Walt Disney World Resort but have never visited the Disneyland Resort you will want to make this a trip in your future.  Experience for yourself the feeling of being in the original park that Walt himself planned and brought to life.

Pixar Pier Opening Date Announced!

Back in August, at the 2017 D23 Expo in Anaheim California we found out that Paradise Pier at Disney’s California Adventure park would be reimagined as Pixar Pier. The current Paradise Pier was themed to a traditional boardwalk that you would find along the California Coast. The area of the park featured iconic boardwalk staples from a rollercoaster (California Screamin’) to swings (Silly Symphony Swings).

The idea for the revamped Pixar Pier will retheme a lot of the existing attractions on Paradise Pier and give them a new backstory based off of many beloved Disney Pixar movies. For several years, Paradise Pier has already been home to the Toy Story Midway Mania attraction which is based off of the popular Disney Pixar film series Toy Story. The added presence of more Pixar films to this area of the park will be very fitting and we are so excited to see what Disney has in store for the new land!

And we will get to experience Pixar Pier sooner than you’d think! We now have an opening date for the reimagined land! Pixar Pier will open in Disney California Adventure on June 23rd 2018! Right around the corner!!!

Pixar Pier will feature four neighborhoods representing different Pixar films. The main attraction will be the Incredicoaster based off of the Incredibles movie. The Incredicoaster will take the place of California Screamin’.  The premise of the new Incredibles’ coaster is that the Parr family will race alongside you while trying to catch baby Jack-Jack.

Also coming to Pixar Pier will be an attraction themed to the Disney Pixar movie, Inside Out.  This attraction will be added to the new land at a later date.

In celebration of Pixar Pier opening, an Incredibles parade float will also be added as an additional float in the Paint the Night Parade. Paint the Night is an amazing nighttime parade that originally premiered at Disneyland for the park’s 60th anniversary. The popular parade is now returning to the Disneyland Resort, this time at Disney’s California Adventure! Paint the Night is scheduled to make it’s California Adventure debut on April 13th 2018. The new Incredible float will be added in June 2018. The float will feature Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl and Frozone!

Check out this newly reimagined land for yourself this summer! With all these exciting changes now is a great time to plan your vacation to the original Disney Park… Disneyland! Contact your Kingdom Magic travel planner today!

Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival 2018!

If you follow our blog I am sure you have seen our coverage from the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival in the past. The annual event is one of our favorites every year! Did you know that the festival actually has a twin?! Out on the west coast, Disneyland’s California Adventure park host the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival!

The 2018 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival will take place at the Disneyland Resort from March 2 through April 12, 2018!

That’s right! This year’s event is six full weeks of festival fun, giving guests a great opportunity to experience all that the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival has to offer! Rightfully living up to the parks name, all of the food and beverage offerings at the California Adventure Food and Wine Festival have a Californian influence or fusion to them. This twist on the Food and Wine Festival gives visitors a truly authentic taste of the California culture and local eats!

Once again in 2018, the Festival will offer a daily format meaning that the festivities will take place on both the weekdays and the weekends. As opposed to in years passed where the festival only took place on just the weekends.

The 2018 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival will begin on March 2, 2018! We are looking forward to when Disney will release the full list and menus for the food booths this year. As of right now we do know that the festival this year will feature 13 booths. Disney has confirmed 4 of these booths and has even released some of their menu offerings! Let’s take a look at the 4 booths we know are coming to this year’s event!

I Heart Artichokes

The ‘I Heart Artichokes Booth’ will be making a return for the 2018 Festival! Last year guests marveled at the creativity of this booth’s menu items! The Disney Chefs used a popular California staple, the artichoke in ways you wouldn’t expect! They even created rich dessert items using the artichoke as the main ingredient. We know that the booth will be serving at least two dishes from last year. One of these being the Fried Artichoke Carbonara with garlic aioli and smoked bacon, and the second is the Artichoke Cake Pop with dark chocolate and pistachios!

Citrus Grove

During last year’s festival guests could visit the ‘Lemon Grove Booth.’ This booth is returning again this year but with a reimagined twist and under a new name, the ‘Citrus Grove Booth.’ We know that the Meyer Lemon Macaron with blueberry marmalade, Meyer lemon cream, and blueberry dust will be making its return this year! This decadent item was a big hit at the 2017 festival!

Nuts About Cheese

The ‘Nuts About Cheese Booth’ will be back again this year. Here you can enjoy the Goat Cheese Tartine, this year the popular item will be enhanced by being topped with honey and pistachios.

LA Style

The ‘LA Style Booth’ was a smash hit during the 2017 festival. Many Food and Wine Festival fans are thrilled that the ‘LA Style Booth’ will be returning again this year! Here guests can enjoy a favorite from last year, the Chicken Teriyaki Slider with spicy Dole pineapple jam! Also returning to this booth will be, the Korean Barbecue Beef Short Rib Tacos with kimchi!

You won’t want to miss the 2018 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival! If you are a fan of the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival we know you will enjoy experiencing Disneyland’s unique version of the event. Now is the perfect time to plan your visit to the original Disney Resort… Disneyland!

Paint the Night Parade to Return to the Disneyland Resort! New Dining Packages Now Available

It is not a visit to a Disney park without a Disney Parade! Walt Disney himself is quoted saying that “everyone loves a parade!” All the way back to the opening day at Disneyland to present day at Disney theme parks worldwide, parades have always had a presence in parks. Those dazzling floats and world-class Disney entertainment hold a special place in many visitor’s hearts. One of the most iconic parades to this day is the Main Street Electrical Parade. When the parade debuted at Disneyland in 1972 it was ground breaking as a nighttime parade and guests were amazed by the way the twinkling lights danced and lit up the night!

During Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration, Disney introduced a brand new nighttime spectacular parade called ‘Paint the Night!’ The shows twinkling lights created the nostalgia of the Main Street Electrical Parade while also breaking ground in its own way with new technology, a catchy soundtrack, and show elements that guests had never experienced before. The parade includes floats themed to many modern-day, popular Disney and Disney Pixar films. ‘Paint the Night’ also features many beloved Disney characters who interact with guests along the parade route!

The ‘Paint the Night’ Parade quickly became loved by many Disneyland fans. After the 60th Anniversary celebration ended the parade left Disneyland Park and went to Hong Kong Disneyland for a while. Upon its opening the Red Rose Tavern quickly became popular with park guests who enjoyed the new theming and revamped menu that gives a nod to the film. My Top 5 Disneyland Food Items!

Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth, home to amazing attractions, amazing rides, amazing shows, amazing shops and…. AMAZING FOOD! Disneyland is a haven of delicious meals and treats, offering a wide selection and variety of choices! Today I am going to count down my top 5 Disneyland food items!

5. Mint Julep

Starting off my countdown I have to go with an iconic Disneyland beverage, the mint julep! This delicious, non-alcoholic drink has flavors of mint and lime. It is very refreshing during a fun and action-packed park day! You can find the mint julep in several of the restaurants located within New Orleans Square and even at a special walk-up Mint Julep Bar, allowing you to enjoy your Mint Julep on the go. The Mint Julep Bar can be found nestled into the patio area of the French Market restaurant next to the New Orleans Square train station. This drink is a famous staple in Disneyland and many park-goers have a tradition to enjoy a Mint Julep on every visit.

4. Sourdough Bread Bowl

Disney’s California Adventure park is home to number 4 on my list, Soup in a Sourdough Bread Bowl! Located at the Pacific Wharf Cafe, this meal is a can’t miss and is truly authentic! The quick-service location is connected to a bakery that bakes the breads fresh daily. Guests can even take a self-guided tour of the bakery and try a warm bread sample. It is a unique experience to check out during your day at California Adventure. The bread bowls served at the Pacific Wharf Cafe are baked fresh right in the bakery, and you can tell this from the quality and wonderful taste. You can pick your choice of soup to fill your bread bowl. Choices include clam chowder, broccoli and cheese, and a seasonal soup. I have tried both the clam chowder as well as the broccoli and cheese, both are delicious! Of the two my personal favorite would be the clam chowder, it is creamy and filled with a generous amount of clams. As you dine you can enjoy views over to Paradise pier, soon to become Pixar pier!

3. Beignets

Disney is known for beignets. You can find this traditional New Orleans treat at Cafe Orleans and at the Mint Julep Bar both located in New Orleans Square at Disneyland. These beignets are adorable and formed into the shape of Mickey Mouse! They are good but my favorite beignets at the Disneyland Resort are actually located in Downtown Disney at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen. These beignets are authentic and keep to the real New Orleans style, you can even pick up a box of Cafe Du Monde Beignet mix to take home with you! You can enjoy your beignets along with your meal at this table-service restaurant or enjoy them on the go by stopping by the Jazz Kitchen Express. These traditional beignets are a great snack or even make for a sweet start to your morning as breakfast!

2. Chicken Fried Chicken

Disneyland is filled with nostalgia and history. For many Disney fans coming to Disneyland truly feels like coming home and home just wouldn’t be complete without comfort food and Disneyland sure has something for everyone! Coming in at number 2 on my list is the Chicken Fried Chicken! There are actually 2 locations on Disneyland property that you can enjoy this amazing meal, the first is Carnation Cafe located at the heart of Main Street USA! This restaurant has been around since the parks opening day. Walt himself use to dine here at Carnation Cafe! Sitting inside the restaurant, you feel completely immersed in the Disney story. The Chicken Fried Chicken on the menu here is actually labeled as one of Walt’s favorite dishes. This dish of buttermilk Fried Chicken is fried to a light and flaky golden brown and served with mash potatoes, county gravy and seasonal vegetables. It truly does melt in your mouth! The second location on property that also serves an amazing Chicken Fried Chicken dish brings us back to Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen at Downtown Disney.  For me the Chicken Fried Chicken at the Jazz Kitchen topped the one in the park. And that is really saying something because I also love the one at Carnation Cafe! Be sure to try this dish out at either of these incredible restaurants next time you are in Disneyland!

1. Monte Cristo

Number one on my list for my top Disneyland food item is hands down the Monte Cristo! This French sandwich is sliced turkey, ham and Swiss cheese that is fried inside of a golden brown pastry and then dusted with powdered sugar. You would think the combination sounds crazy, I myself was very hesitant before ordering the famous Monte Cristo. But trust me, give this one a try and you will see why it is on the top of my list. All the components of this dish blend together in the perfect marriage of sweet and savory!

There are 2 locations in Disneyland where you can find the Monte Cristo. The first location is Cafe Orleans in New Orleans Square. Cafe Orleans actually offers 2 variations of the Popular sandwich including the classic Monte Cristo Sandwich and also a Three-Cheese Monte Cristo. The second restaurant is the Blue Bayou also located in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square. Blue Bayou serves the traditional Monte Cristo in an incredible atmosphere, this restaurant sits inside of one of the most classic Disneyland attractions, Pirates of the Caribbean! As you dine you can watch the boats from the ride float by in the opening Bayou scene!

There are so many wonderful and unique food options at Disneyland! Make sure you try some of these items and more when you visit the original Disneyland!

Epcot Egg-stravaganza & NEW Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration Scavenger Hunt coming to the 2018 International Flower and Garden Festival!

Spring is in the air and the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is getting ready to kick off on February 28, 2018 and will run through May 28, 2018. The festival will feature character topiaries, vibrant gardens and floral displays and even offer outdoor kitchens selling food and beverage items with a fresh, springtime twist!

A popular activity at the festival each year is the Egg-stravaganza scavenger hunt. We are excited to announce that the Egg-stravaganza is returning to the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival from March 16 through April 1. Guests can Purchase a map for $5.99, plus tax. Once you have picked up your map the fun begins as you search for hidden Disney character-themed “eggs” around world showcase. Your map will come with a pack of stickers. Once you have spotted a character egg in a particular location you can use the corresponding sticker to mark where that egg is located.

Once you have found all of the eggs and completed filling in your scavenger hunt map with the stickers, you can then show your finished map in Disney Traders and receive a special surprise. In years past these prices have been miniature character-themed plastic eggs. These are so fun to collect and make a wonderful Easter decoration to bring back home!

This year’s Flower and Garden Festival will introduce a second scavenger hunt activity as well! This new hunt is called Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration. The hunt is a Honey Bee Scavenger Hunt!

The backstory for this hunt is that Disney’s favorite honey bee, Spike has been pollinating his way around the festival. Similar to the Egg-stravaganza, guests can purchase a garden map and stickers at the Port of Entry shop ($5.99, plus tax). Once you have your map you can begin your quest and search around Epcot for plants Spike has pollinated. These special plants will be identified by Spike and a Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration plant stake. Once you have completed your hunt and filled in your map with the corresponding stickers you can return to a participating shop and show your map for a surprise reward!

These scavenger hunts add an exciting layer of fun to the Flower and Garden Festival. It is also a wonderful activity to keep kids entertained while parents can explore parts of the festival that interest them. We have been long-time fans of the Egg-stravaganza and are so excited to see the 2018 version. We also can’t wait for the new experience this year of Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration! There is something for everyone at Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival! We hope you come out to the 2018 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival and experience all the fun and beauty that it has to offer!

All About Disney’s Minnie Van Service

The Walt Disney World Resort is massive, filled with magic and fun around every corner. The resort is twice the size of the city of San Francisco. Being such a large property transportation plays a big role in every guest’s vacation. Disney is committed to always enhancing the Walt Disney World transportation system and creating new offerings for guests to get where they are going safely and efficiently. The Disney transportation fleet includes busses, monorails, boats and currently under construction the Skyliner gondola system. This past year Disney introduced another mode of transportation to the fleet… Minnie Vans!

Yes they are as cute as they sound! The majority of the Minnie Vans are Chevy Traverses, they are themed in adorable Minnie Mouse style! Being covered in polk-a-dots, you can’t miss these super cute cars as they drive around property!

So what is the Disney Minnie Van service? The Disney Minnie vans can be ordered by guests as a personal point-to-point ride service. If you are familiar with ride sharing services such as Uber and Lyft, this is Disney World’s version of that.

In fact, for this pilot program at the Disney World Resort, Disney has partnered with Lyft to use their app technology. Guests can order their Minnie Van through the Lyft app. When on Disney World property the location service in the Lyft application will detect that you are at Disney World and offer the Minnie Van as an option over calling a regular Lyft. Guests can also order Minnie vans through Bell Services if they are staying at a Disney Resort that offers Minnie van pick-up. At this point in time a few select Disney Resorts offer Minnie Van resort pick-up. Here is the full list of the resorts currently offering Minnie Van pick-up at that resort:

  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
  • Disney’s Beach Club Resort
  • Disney’s Boardwalk Resort
  • Disney’s Old Key West Resort
  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort / Bay Lake Tower
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

Due to the service’s popularity, we can expect that the resort pick-up locations will be expanded to even more Disney World resort hotels in the future. This being said it is important to note you do not need to be staying at one of these resorts to take a Minnie van. Guests can take Minnie vans from park to park. For example, from Epcot to Magic Kingdom.

Taking a Disney Minnie Van over taking a traditional Uber or Lyft gives you many additional benefits and a much bigger comfort level. One of the biggest difference when calling a Minnie van instead of a generic ride service like Uber or Lyft is that you can rest assured that your driver is a Disney cast member. With Minnie Vans, you know that your driver meets all the standards that are required by Disney cast members and has received a high level of training. Our driver shared with us that all Minnie Van drivers must complete an 8-hour course on the proper way to install a car seat taught by car seat doctors! Yes, that is a real thing! That is just one small example of the level of care and service you will receive from your Minnie Van driver.

A major advantage to taking a Minnie Van over standard forms of Disney transportation is all the time that you save. When relying on a Disney bus to go to a park or back to your resort you could spend a significant amount of time waiting to be picked up or having to wait while the bus makes additional stops. With a Minnie Van you can go directly to your destination in your own ride.

Another Minnie Van perk is that you can get dropped off at exclusive locations near the front of the parks. If riding in a standard uber or lyft those drivers have limitation as to how far they can take guests. When you arrive in a Minnie van you get front row access! For example, our driver shared with us that Minnie Vans get to drop guests of in the main bus loop of magic Kingdom. A traditional ride sharing service would only have access to the main magic kingdom parking lot.

During a recent Kingdom Magic Vacation’s event, a few members of our team including myself got to experience a Minnie Van ride for ourselves and we had a blast! After a fun filled afternoon at Animal Kingdom we called a Minnie Van to take us to Disney’s Contemporary Resort for our dinner reservation. We loved that the Minnie Van ride saved us so much time by not having to wait for the bus, which typically makes additional stops at other resorts. With the Minnie Van, our driver appeared in less than 10 minutes and we got to ride in style to our destination, saving us so much time.

Harry Potter and The Cursed Child

This past year a new chapter in the Harry Potter story was born when the Harry Potter and The Cursed Child play premiered in London. The story is a continuation of a new era in Harry’s life. Audible is the popular audiobook service and they had a booth at this year’s event advertising the Harry Potter audiobooks available on Audible. The booth was home to a very fun game where true fans could compete against other fans to prove just how well they know the books. In the game, you would wear headphones and listen to a selection from one of the Harry Potter books. You would then have to guess which book the line is from. In the end, you can see how you ranked against the other fans! This booth was a very fun and competitive place to be!

Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them VR Experience

Guests could put on a Virtual Reality headset and live inside the movie Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them. In the experience, you could encounter a series of magical creatures!

The experience gave guests a portion of what they could experience at the actual Warner Brother Studio tour in London. Everyone loves the music from the Harry Potter films! The scores are so iconic, thrilling and powerful! The Harry Potter Concert Series is an orchestra that travels the world preforming the famous music live alongside the movie. The Harry Potter Concert Series was represented in a booth at this year’s event.

New Projection Show on Hogwart’s Castle

The icing on the cake at this year’s event was the premiere of the brand new Harry Potter project show on the Hogwart’s castle.
