Exciting new entertainment and experiences are in store for Disney Wonder Guests after the Disney Cruise Line vessel is transformed this fall. Headlining the enhancements are imaginative spaces for children, a jazzy restaurant and an English pub.

The Marvel universe comes to life in Marvel Super Hero Academy. Here, young Guests can train to develop the brave and adventurous heroes inside themselves. It’s an exciting addition to Disney’s Oceaneer Club, the engaging and interactive space just for children.

Exclusive to the Disney Wonder, Tiana’s Place restaurant will transport you to an era of southern charm, spirited jazz and street party celebrations. With a menu influenced by southern-style cuisine, Tiana’s Place will provide food for the body and soul, showing that dreams and dishes come true.

After Hours, a new adult district, will feature an all-new night club, a shiny new model of the popular Cadillac Lounge and a brand-new pub that invites Guests to take a jaunt to an authentic English tavern.

After the Disney Wonder undergoes dry dock Sept. 9-Oct. 23, 2016, in Cadiz, Spain, the wave of new enhancements debut on sailings starting Nov. 10, from Galveston, Texas.

The Disney Wonder will continue to sail from Galveston to the Bahamas and Caribbean, until the ship sails to San Juan, Puerto Rico on Jan. 20, 2017. On Jan. 26, 2017, a three-night cruise aboard the Disney Wonder takes guests from San Juan to Port Canaveral, Fla., where the ship will homeport for the spring.

Spectacular “Frozen” Fun on the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder This Summer

Who’s ready to bring back summer?! Summer is an extra special time of year as the Disney Magic sails throughout Europe and the Disney Wonder journeys to Alaska. And just like last year, we’re celebrating the return of summer with friends from the Kingdom of Arendelle!

“Freezing the Night Away with Anna, Elsa and Friends” Deck Party

On select Disney Magic and Disney Wonder sailings, you’ll be transported to the land of “Frozen” when the ship is transformed into a winter wonderland. On one special morning, you’ll awake to discover a magical freeze has overtaken the atrium lobby with sparkling icicles adorning the grand staircase, resembling the majestic mountain-top ice palace of Queen Elsa. Throughout the day there will be Scandinavian-inspired family activities, a themed dining experience with a menu of traditional Nordic fare and meet and greets with Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf.

This “cool” day of frozen fun culminates with an extravagant celebration, “Freezing the Night Away with Anna, Elsa and Friends.” This family-friendly interactive deck party features the famous royal sisters of Arendelle and their fun-loving Nordic companions. By now, the freeze has spread to the upper decks of the ship, with giant snowflakes, icicles and snow-covered rocks.

“Frozen” Fun Aboard Disney Cruise Line

The celebration begins with a high-energy line dance, set to the movie’s ice cutting scene, featuring the arrival of Kristoff, impressively twirling his ice picks, and Princess Anna. Kristoff and Anna’s beloved companions, Sven, the trolls and Olaf, make virtual appearances at the party. Sven engages the crowd in reindeer games like “Sven Says” and the “Troll Stroll,” and Olaf leads a sing along to his signature song, “In Summer.”

Elsa arrives with a snowy gust of wind, calling on guests to sing “Let it Go” with her as she conjures up a wintry spectacle to cool things down for Olaf. In true Disney fashion, Elsa unleashes her magic, sending a chill through everyone as the powerful Academy Award-winning song echoes from the ship. The evening concludes with more family dancing on the pool deck. Then the fun continues just for adults in the dance club featuring performances and frozen specialty drinks.

“Freezing the Night Away with Anna, Elsa and Friends” Deck Party

If you’re sailing on the Disney Magic or Disney Wonder this summer, be sure to post photos of this incredible day on Instagram and Twitter with #DisneyCruise. We have a feeling many of you will be saying, “Hands down, this is the best day of my life.”

Sailing the British Isles with Disney Cruise Line: Adventures in Newcastle, England

Newcastle Upon Tyne, commonly known as simply Newcastle, is the jewel of Northern England located on the eastern coast of the British mainland. As you may expect from the name, incredible castles are within easy reach of this historic port town. Here are a few suggestions for Port Adventures to explore these ancient estates and other medieval landmarks during your visit to Newcastle with Disney Cruise Line.

DCLNC34234

Alnwick Castle and Garden: A Tree House Brunch and Fairy Tale Trail – Alnwick Castle, which you may recognize from Downton Abbey and several films, is an exquisite estate that combines medieval architecture with Italianate state rooms. This family-oriented Port Adventure enhances your visit to the castle with a two-course luncheon in an enchanting tree house and a stroll through fairytale-like gardens filled with princesses and villains. Other fun adventures at the castle include Knight’s Quest, where children can dress up in medieval clothing and play games of the period, and Witches and Wizards Broomstick Training, the chance to hone your wizarding skills and master broomstick techniques.

DCLNC4523452

Bamburgh Castle and Lindisfarne – Another spectacular estate to visit is Bamburgh Castle, set on a rocky plateau at the edge of the North Sea. Here you can tour the magnificent principal rooms and explore the beautiful grounds spanning nine acres on a coastline of rolling sand dunes. The other highlight of this Port Adventure is free time on the isolated island of Lindisfarne, also known as the Holy Island. This ancient area is home of the Lindisfarne Priory, a holy site since 365 A.D. and one of the most important early centers of Christianity in Anglo-Saxon England. Your journey to Bamburgh Castle and Lindisfarne also includes a scenic, countryside drive in a remote region filled with untouched splendor.

DCLNC2342

Durham Cathedral and Family Trail – This family-friendly excursion takes you to Durham Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is widely acclaimed as one of the world’s finest church structures. Your behind-the-scenes tour will provide insights into the remarkable history and design of the church, including significant architectural innovations achieved over its 40-year construction. Fun for kids is incorporated with the chance to dress up in monks clothing, join an exciting quest for treasure using clues and marvel at an incredible display-in-progress of the cathedral, which once completed will include more than 300,000 LEGO bricks.

Royal Caribbean Orders Fifth Quantum Class Cruise Ship

Royal Caribbean has entered into an agreement with the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany to order a fifth cruise ship in its Quantum Class to be delivered in fall 2020. The announcement comes as the line’s second Quantum-class ship, Anthem of the Seas, arrives Wednesday in its permanent homeport of Bayonne, New Jersey, after sailing a short season out of the U.K.

230

Highlights of Quantum-class ships are high-speed Internet; RipCord by iFly, a skydiving simulator; the North Star, a glass capsule that rises 300 feet above sea level and provides 360-degree views from high above the ship; the three-deck-high Two70 lounge and theater with its stunning daytime views and mesmerizing special effects evening shows; and the Seaplex sports and entertainment complex with bumper cars, roller skating and a circus school.

309

Quantum of the Seas, the first ship in the class, launched in 2014 and sails year-round in Asia. The third ship, Ovation of the Seas, is scheduled to launch in 2016; it is being designed with the Chinese market in mind and also will sail permanently in Asia. Royal Caribbean has not said where the fourth ship, launching in 2019, and the newly announced fifth Quantum-class ship will be deployed.

7 Things to Look for When You See ‘Tangled: The Musical’ On Disney Cruise Line

Over the past several months, Disney Cruise Line has give us an all-access pass to the making of “Tangled: The Musical,” with behind-the-scenes looks into the creation of music, costumes, sets, choreography and puppetry.

TTM8009625

There is so much to look forward to when the show debuts aboard the Disney Magic, so we’ve rounded up our top seven details to look (and listen!) for when you see it for the first time:

1. Bavarian inspiration: Everything from set designs to costumes to choreography was inspired in some way by the sights, sounds and heritage of early German culture.

2. Flowers: Rapunzel’s story begins with a magical flower, but many more have been “planted” in the show’s design. Look for more than 200 physical flowers—plus dozens of others that have been drawn, painted, carved and sewn—in scenic elements, costumes and even Rapunzel’s hair!

3. Immersive moments: The creative team designed the show to totally immerse you in the story as characters interact with the audience; scenes spill over the stage and lanterns float overhead.

TTMHT479572-613x341

4. The guitar: Legendary composer Alan Menken’s score was inspired by folk rock music, so listen closely to hear undertones of the guitar thread throughout the show. You may even see a character strumming away!

5. Glowing scenic elements: A magical flower, Rapunzel’s hair, floating lanterns, burning candles and glowing murals … There are definitely a lot of bright spots to see in this show!

6. Organic choreography: Choreographer Connor Gallagher developed each dance number to feel natural and folksy, focusing on loose movements, lower centers of gravity and personal touches by each character.

TTMHT479573-613x409

7. Nods to the movie: Of course, this is still the story of Rapunzel’s grand adventure, so you’ll see and hear many of your favorite characters, scenes, songs and quotes.

Sail Away to a Magical Winter Holiday with Disney Cruise Line

This holiday season, Disney Cruise Line ships will be all decked to the “raft-ers” with holiday cheer. Starting early November, Disney Cruise Line adds sparkle to each ship during Very Merrytime Cruises, with traditional “turkey day” fanfare, Christmas feasts, “snow flurries” and New Year’s Eve galas. During these voyages through the new year, holiday events include a tree-lighting ceremony with favorite Disney friends, Dickens-inspired carolers, a holiday deck party, themed treats and more.

christmas_goofy59128011_d-640x420

On one extra-special evening each cruise, the grand atrium lobby becomes the setting for a fanciful winter wonderland ball, where Disney cruisers welcome the guests of honor, Santa and Mrs. Claus, with a grand celebration featuring Broadway-style entertainment, favorite Disney characters and classic holiday tunes. This evening of enchantment is made complete when a special pair of royal sisters joins the party and causes a flurry of “frozen” fun as a magical snowfall overtakes the atrium.

To celebrate the holidays, the Disney Magic sails four- and five-night Bahamian and Caribbean cruises departing Nov. 11 to Dec. 23; the Disney Wonder sails four-, six- and seven-night Bahamian and Caribbean cruises departing Nov. 6 to Dec. 24; the Disney Dream sails three- and four-night Bahamian cruises departing Nov. 9 to Dec. 24; and the Disney Fantasy sails seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruises departing Nov. 14 to Dec. 19.

Disney Magic To Debut Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique This Fall

Aspiring young princesses and knights are in for a treat when Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique debuts on the Disney Magic this fall! This whimsical salon for children ages three to 12 is coming to Deck 10 in the forward part of the ship.

BBBDCL475951-613x408

Our fairy godmothers-in-training are storing up fairy dust for the very special makeovers they’ll be granting at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Kids can choose from several looks, including a Disney Princess, royal knight and more. On pirate party night, this boutique becomes The Pirates League, and pirates of all ages can be transformed here from landlubber to buccaneer.

BBBDCL475952-613x409

Tweens are also in store for new adventures when Edge moves to Deck 9 midship. This super cool space will feature a dance floor and high-tech gaming stations. What won’t change is the fact that this area is reserved just for 11- to 14-year-olds, giving tweens the chance for a little independence from their parents (under the supervision of our fun youth counselors, of course!)

Cruisers on our transatlantic voyage from Spain to Miami, departing September 19, will be the first to enjoy these enhancements. The Disney Magic will then sail 4- and 5-night voyages from Miami to the Bahamas and Caribbean throughout the fall.

Is your little one most excited about becoming a princess in a paradise or a pirate IN the Caribbean when you visit Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on the Disney Magic?
