The wildest renovation in the West is finally over! Just beyond The Lucky Nugget Saloon and across the Rivers of the Far West, guests in Frontierland can once more spot runaway mine trains careening around Big Thunder Mountain. This iconic attraction recently underwent an unprecedented renovation to bring exciting new features and explosive surprises which are sure to thrill guests of all ages!
As Disneyland Paris gears up for its 25th anniversary celebration on April 12th, Imagineers and cast members across the resort worked together on this expansive project, examining every aspect of the experience and updating each part of the attraction.
The new additions to this iconic ride are, of course, in keeping with the Gold Rush-era storytelling of Frontierland. Guests will find the cabin that belonged to the mine’s very last prospector decorated with everyday objects from the Gold Rush Era. Just like the 1,500 props scattered around the attraction and the waiting area, these authentic objects were found in real American ghost towns.
Among the many improvements at Big Thunder Mountain, a new explosion sequence lies in wait for guests along the harrowing journey, thanks to an immersive combination of cutting-edge technology and sensory experiences. Other special effects include recently restored geysers along the lake shore, visible from the train. Original features such as the train tracks themselves were also refurbished.
Thanks to the innovation, creativity and collaboration of everyone involved – from local suppliers, artisans and special effects experts to Park Operations cast who tested the experience countless times – guests can expect a truly exceptional new experience. We are delighted to welcome passengers aboard the wildest ride in the West once more, as we prepare to dazzle our guests for the 25th anniversary this April!
Situated just outside Paris, France is Disneyland Paris Resort. Like all Disney parks, there is a castle there to welcome you. Disneyland Paris’ Sleeping Beauty Castle looks like it was pulled directly from the classic animated movie. But unlike other castles around the world, under this castle you will discover ‘La Taniere du Dragon’ or ‘The Dragon’s Lair’ where they keep a certain dragon held prisoner!
Disneyland Paris previewed La Place de Rémy – a new area dedicated to the Disney•Pixar movie “Ratatouille.” The special themed-area will bring the storybook world of Ratatouille to life when it officially opens in just weeks – on July 10, 2014.
The dedication of La Place de Rémy happened in Walt Disney Studios Park at a ceremony that included Disney Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert Iger, as well as Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs, Chief Executive Officer of Euro Disney SAS Philippe Gas, and stars from the film.
“When we turn amazing worlds that may only exist in our imaginations or on film into multi-dimensional theme park experiences, we give our guests the opportunity to step into a story that they love. And Ratatouille is a fantastic example of that,” Tom said.
La Place de Rémy will feature the new Ratatouille, l’Aventure Totalement Toquee de Remy attraction that whisks guests into a crazy, culinary adventure in one of the capital’s most chic dining establishments, Chez Gusteau, offering a comical rat’s eye view into the world of Remy. Guests begin their adventure on the rooftops of Paris before boarding ratmobiles to scurry though the restaurant’s cold store and dining room overseen by the intimidating Chef Skinner.
And with a design inspired by the French capital represented in the movie, the area will also include Bistrot Chez Rémy, a table-service restaurant, and a special boutique, Chez Marianne (Souvenirs de Paris) – which opens at the end of the 2014.
Today fans got their first extended peek at Disneyland Paris Resort’s most anticipated new attraction with the release of the first photo and video trailer of the “Ratatouille”-themed area opening this summer.
Inspired by the Oscar-winning Disney●Pixar film, “Ratatouille”, the L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy ride-through attraction will shrink guests down to the size of the film’s star, Remy, a cuisine-loving rat who dreams of becoming a master French chef. Guests will join Remy and his friends as they scurry through the kitchen, dining room, and walls of Gusteau’s famous Parisian restaurant, all the while trying to avoid the villainous Chef Skinner. This first-of-its-kind Disney attraction will immerse guests into an animated world like never before.
The latest images were unveiled as part Euro Disney S.C.A.’s annual shareholders meeting. The attraction will be located in a new area of Walt Disney Studios Park’s Toon Studio, and will anchor a “Ratatouille”-inspired version of Paris. In addition to the attraction, the area will also feature a shop, Chez Marianne Souvenirs de Paris, and a themed table service restaurant, Bistrot Chez Rémy. The unique restaurant will be directly adjacent to the attraction and serve the “little chef’s” famous dish, ratatouille.
When you visit the Disneyland Resort in Paris, France, you can see the original Characters in Flight balloon as well as the New York themed hotel! And luckily, it was also a lovely day in France!
