Epcot Egg-stravaganza & NEW Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration Scavenger Hunt coming to the 2018 International Flower and Garden Festival!

Spring is in the air and the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is getting ready to kick off on February 28, 2018 and will run through May 28, 2018. The festival will feature character topiaries, vibrant gardens and floral displays and even offer outdoor kitchens selling food and beverage items with a fresh, springtime twist!

A popular activity at the festival each year is the Egg-stravaganza scavenger hunt. We are excited to announce that the Egg-stravaganza is returning to the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival from March 16 through April 1. Guests can Purchase a map for $5.99, plus tax. Once you have picked up your map the fun begins as you search for hidden Disney character-themed “eggs” around world showcase. Your map will come with a pack of stickers. Once you have spotted a character egg in a particular location you can use the corresponding sticker to mark where that egg is located.

Once you have found all of the eggs and completed filling in your scavenger hunt map with the stickers, you can then show your finished map in Disney Traders and receive a special surprise. In years past these prices have been miniature character-themed plastic eggs. These are so fun to collect and make a wonderful Easter decoration to bring back home!

This year’s Flower and Garden Festival will introduce a second scavenger hunt activity as well! This new hunt is called Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration. The hunt is a Honey Bee Scavenger Hunt!

The backstory for this hunt is that Disney’s favorite honey bee, Spike has been pollinating his way around the festival. Similar to the Egg-stravaganza, guests can purchase a garden map and stickers at the Port of Entry shop ($5.99, plus tax). Once you have your map you can begin your quest and search around Epcot for plants Spike has pollinated. These special plants will be identified by Spike and a Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration plant stake. Once you have completed your hunt and filled in your map with the corresponding stickers you can return to a participating shop and show your map for a surprise reward!

These scavenger hunts add an exciting layer of fun to the Flower and Garden Festival. It is also a wonderful activity to keep kids entertained while parents can explore parts of the festival that interest them. We have been long-time fans of the Egg-stravaganza and are so excited to see the 2018 version. We also can’t wait for the new experience this year of Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration! There is something for everyone at Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival! We hope you come out to the 2018 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival and experience all the fun and beauty that it has to offer!

All About Disney’s Minnie Van Service

The Walt Disney World Resort is massive, filled with magic and fun around every corner. The resort is twice the size of the city of San Francisco. Being such a large property transportation plays a big role in every guest’s vacation. Disney is committed to always enhancing the Walt Disney World transportation system and creating new offerings for guests to get where they are going safely and efficiently. The Disney transportation fleet includes busses, monorails, boats and currently under construction the Skyliner gondola system. This past year Disney introduced another mode of transportation to the fleet… Minnie Vans!

Yes they are as cute as they sound! The majority of the Minnie Vans are Chevy Traverses, they are themed in adorable Minnie Mouse style! Being covered in polk-a-dots, you can’t miss these super cute cars as they drive around property!

So what is the Disney Minnie Van service? The Disney Minnie vans can be ordered by guests as a personal point-to-point ride service. If you are familiar with ride sharing services such as Uber and Lyft, this is Disney World’s version of that.

In fact, for this pilot program at the Disney World Resort, Disney has partnered with Lyft to use their app technology. Guests can order their Minnie Van through the Lyft app. When on Disney World property the location service in the Lyft application will detect that you are at Disney World and offer the Minnie Van as an option over calling a regular Lyft. Guests can also order Minnie vans through Bell Services if they are staying at a Disney Resort that offers Minnie van pick-up. At this point in time a few select Disney Resorts offer Minnie Van resort pick-up. Here is the full list of the resorts currently offering Minnie Van pick-up at that resort:

  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
  • Disney’s Beach Club Resort
  • Disney’s Boardwalk Resort
  • Disney’s Old Key West Resort
  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort / Bay Lake Tower
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

Due to the service’s popularity, we can expect that the resort pick-up locations will be expanded to even more Disney World resort hotels in the future. This being said it is important to note you do not need to be staying at one of these resorts to take a Minnie van. Guests can take Minnie vans from park to park. For example, from Epcot to Magic Kingdom.

Taking a Disney Minnie Van over taking a traditional Uber or Lyft gives you many additional benefits and a much bigger comfort level. One of the biggest difference when calling a Minnie van instead of a generic ride service like Uber or Lyft is that you can rest assured that your driver is a Disney cast member. With Minnie Vans, you know that your driver meets all the standards that are required by Disney cast members and has received a high level of training. Our driver shared with us that all Minnie Van drivers must complete an 8-hour course on the proper way to install a car seat taught by car seat doctors! Yes, that is a real thing! That is just one small example of the level of care and service you will receive from your Minnie Van driver.

A major advantage to taking a Minnie Van over standard forms of Disney transportation is all the time that you save. When relying on a Disney bus to go to a park or back to your resort you could spend a significant amount of time waiting to be picked up or having to wait while the bus makes additional stops. With a Minnie Van you can go directly to your destination in your own ride.

Another Minnie Van perk is that you can get dropped off at exclusive locations near the front of the parks. If riding in a standard uber or lyft those drivers have limitation as to how far they can take guests. When you arrive in a Minnie van you get front row access! For example, our driver shared with us that Minnie Vans get to drop guests of in the main bus loop of magic Kingdom. A traditional ride sharing service would only have access to the main magic kingdom parking lot.

During a recent Kingdom Magic Vacation’s event, a few members of our team including myself got to experience a Minnie Van ride for ourselves and we had a blast! After a fun filled afternoon at Animal Kingdom we called a Minnie Van to take us to Disney’s Contemporary Resort for our dinner reservation. We loved that the Minnie Van ride saved us so much time by not having to wait for the bus, which typically makes additional stops at other resorts. With the Minnie Van, our driver appeared in less than 10 minutes and we got to ride in style to our destination, saving us so much time.

New Harry Potter Film Star, Panels And Experiences Revealed For A Celebration Of Harry Potter

The heart of the Harry Potter event is the expos. The Universal soundstages become huge expo halls that house booths and activities dedicated to all things Harry Potter. Let’s take a look at some of the fun that was found inside the soundstages this year,

Pottermore is the official Harry Potter fan club and they had a great presence at this year’s event. At the Pottermore booth you could use smart tablets to take a sorting quiz which based on your personality would tell you which Hogwart’s house you belong in. Also at the Pottermore booth, guests could create fun keepsakes with whimsical props by posing for a Harry potter themed GIF! Such a great way to share the fun on social media with your friends.

Harry Potter and The Cursed Child

This past year a new chapter in the Harry Potter story was born when the Harry Potter and The Cursed Child play premiered in London. The story is a continuation of a new era in Harry’s life. The play will be coming to New York this year and so many people are on the edge of their seat, awaiting to experience the continued story. Everyone attending the event got a taste of what to expect in the theatrical production by visiting the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child section of the expo. Here guests got to see a glimpse into the new story through real props and costumes from the show.

Audible is the popular audiobook service and they had a booth at this year’s event advertising the Harry Potter audiobooks available on Audible. The booth was home to a very fun game where true fans could compete against other fans to prove just how well they know the books. In the game, you would wear headphones and listen to a selection from one of the Harry Potter books. You would then have to guess which book the line is from. In the end, you can see how you ranked against the other fans! This booth was a very fun and competitive place to be!

Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them VR Experience

Guests could put on a Virtual Reality headset and live inside the movie Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them. In the experience, you could encounter a series of magical creatures!

Warner Brothers Studio Tour

Hands down a huge hit at this year’s event was the Warner Brothers Studios tour that was set up inside one of the Universal Studio’s soundstages. The experience gave guests a portion of what they could experience at the actual Warner Brother Studio tour in London. During the tour guests got to view props, costumes and watch special effects demonstrations to learn how the magic was made!

Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery Mobile Game

Late this Springs the Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery mobile game will be released on IOS. Guests who attended the event got to be among the first people to ever experience the new game when visiting the Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery booth! From what we have heard the game will give you the experience of going to Hogwarts. The style of the game will be similar to the very popular Pokemon Go app.

Harry Potter Concert Series

Everyone loves the music from the Harry Potter films! The scores are so iconic, thrilling and powerful! The Harry Potter Concert Series is an orchestra that travels the world preforming the famous music live alongside the movie. The Harry Potter Concert Series was represented in a booth at this year’s event.

New Projection Show on Hogwart’s Castle

The icing on the cake at this year’s event was the premiere of the brand new Harry Potter project show on the Hogwart’s castle. This past Christmas season the Hogwarts castle introduced Christmas projections for the first time and it was an instant hit with visitors. After the Christmas show premiered it became highly rumored that this exciting new technology could pave the way for more projection shows in the future. Well that came true with the premiere of the new show, “The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle.” The show is a celebration of all 4 Hogwart’s houses. Be sure to bring your house pride when watching this show!

Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels Give Guests exciting Disney World Perks!

It has recently been announced that the Disney Springs Resorts will now receive many of the same perks and benefits previously only offered to guests staying at Disney Resorts. Disney has reclassified the Disney Springs Resorts from just good-neighbor hotels to now the “Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels.”  Let’s take a look at what these exciting changes will bring to guests staying at these resorts!

Extra Magic Hours

Extra Magic Hours is a Disney perk offered to on-site Disney resort guests. How the program works is that a select Disney park will have Extra Magic Hours on a given day and will open up to an hour before regular park opening or stay open for up to an additional 3 hours in the evening after regular park closing. During this time, the park is exclusive just to Disney resort guests who receive the benefit of Extra Magic Hours. This allows these guests to experience the park with limited crowds and significantly shorter wait times for popular attractions.  Now guests staying at a Disney Springs Resort Area Hotel will be able to partake in the excitement of Extra Magic Hours! This perk is a great way to get the most out of your vacation with the gift of more time to enjoy the park!

Reserve Fastpasses 60 days in Advanced

My Disney Experience allows park guests to reserve set times for select attractions in advance. When utilizing the Disney Fastpass+ system visitors will be able to see and do more of the things they really want. A major benefit of staying on-site at a Walt Disney World Resort is that you can reserve your Fastpasses up to 60 days out! Guests not staying on-site can only book Fastpasses 30 days in advance. Having the benefit of booking 60 days out gives you first picks at all the rides and shows, allowing you to grab up Fastpasses for popular rides that fill up very quickly. We are excited to share that now Disney Springs Resort Area Hotel guests will enjoy the same perk of the 60-day out Fastpass bookings!

Staying at any of these Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels, you receive complimentary shuttle transportation to and from all the Disney theme parks. As the name suggest you are in close proximity to the wonderful shopping, dining and entertainment of Disney Springs. In fact you are just a short walk away from all that Disney Springs has to offer. Receive Fastpass+ Extras with Exciting New Pilot Program at Walt Disney World!

The Disney Parks revolutionized the theme park industry when they originally introduced the Disney Fastpass system in late 1999. The idea behind the Fastpass program is to save guests time in line and allow them to reserve a time to come back to a select attraction and experience little to no wait at all through entering in a special Fastpass entrance! This was huge for the Disney Company and many visitors enjoyed the luxury and convenience of utilizing the Fastpass system!

The original Fastpass system worked that once park guests entered a Disney Park for the day they could then go to the attraction they wished to get a Fastpass for and insert their park admission ticket into that attraction’s Fastpass kiosk. Then your Fastpass ticket would print out. With this original system, the Fastpass times were given out on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis. Guests would insert their ticket and hope that the time that printed worked for them.

Like everything Disney does they are always evolving and making changes to enhance their guest’s vacations. In that spirit Fastpass+ was born. In 2013 Disney World made the exciting announcement that the popular Fastpass system would be receiving a major facelift! The Disney Fastpass system became Fastpass+. With the original system guests got Fastpass times at random on the day of their visit. Now with the Fastpass+ system guests are able to pre-plan their Fastpasses ahead of time up to 60 days in advance when they have a Disney hotel reservation! Guests make Fastpass+ selections through their My Disney Experience account. Guests can access their account both online and even on-the-go, on their device through the My Disney Experience app! The Fastpass+ Program and My Disney Experience are completely free and complimentary to all Disney guests. Guests can reserve up to 3 Fastpass+ selections per each day of their trip and once all 3 have been used in the parks guests can even select 3 additional Fastpass+ reservations for the same day! To do this, guests can utilize the app or walk up to convenient kiosks locations within the park. It is safe to say that Fastpass+ once again became groundbreaking for the theme park industry!

Our biggest advice to anyone heading to the Walt Disney World Resort is to take advantage of the Fastpass+ system. When utilized and planned out, you can see and do so much more during your vacation! Certain Fastpasses for popular rides fill up quickly. When you book your vacation with our Kingdom Magic Vacations team, our travel planners can assist you with setting up your Fastpass+ selections. This gives you a better chance of guaranteeing that you and your family get Fastpasses for all your desired rides and attractions!

Now that we have covered some background on the Disney Fastpass system now we can talk about some exciting news involving Fastpass+!

Disney is launching a limited time pilot program to test run a new service. The program launched on January 12th and allows guests who are eligible for Disney Signature Services to purchase theme park extras. One of these extras being additional Fastpasses!

This add-on for Theme Park Extra’s is $50 a day (plus tax) per person in the traveling party per day. In order to be eligible for this pilot program guests must have purchased a theme park ticket for a minimum of three days or obtain an annual pass.

Let’s take a look at what we currently know will be included in the purchase of these theme park extras:

More Fastpass+ Selections!

  • Three additional FastPass+selections per day added onto the three you already get standard when using My Disney Experience.

Make Fastpasses in Multiple Parks on the Same Day!

  • The ability to reserve these three additional FastPass+selections in more than one theme park when a valid Park Hopper option is also purchased with the ticket. In the standard system guests are required to make all their Fastpass+ reservations for the day in the same park. When this extra is purchased guest will now be able to reserve Fastpasses in multiple parks!

Book Fastpasses 90 days in Advance!

  • Guests will get a Fastpass+ booking window of up to 90 days in advance for these three additional FastPass+selections! Normally Disney resort guests only get to make Fastpasses 60 Days out and off-site hotel guests can only book 30 days out. With this extra you will be guaranteed to be among the very first with access to your selections a full 90 days in advance!

Get Multiple top-tier Attractions.

  • Another extra is the ability to book these additional Fastpass+ selections for multiple top-tier attractions. With the standard Fastpass+ system your selections are tiered to give all guests a fair chance to experience some of the bigger attractions. For example, at Epcot, Soarin’, Test Track and Frozen Ever After are the Three most popular rides and all in the top tier. Guests would normally only be able to select one of these top tier attractions and then have to pick their other 2 Fastpasses from the remaining lower tiers. With the purchase of this theme park extra you would be able to have ultimate flexibility and choose multiple top-tier Fastpasses!

Preferred Viewing Areas for Nighttime Shows.

  • Fastpass extras are not the only bonus that this theme park extra gives you. Guests who purchase the add-on will also enjoy preferred viewing areas for nighttime shows, one per day, including Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom, Illuminations: Reflections of Earth at Epcot, Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Rivers of Light at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. An advanced reservation is required and availability can become limited for these preferred sections. Be sure to plan in advance when using this service so you get the best experience.

We are excited for this pilot program and can’t wait to see how it will enhance guests future park visit!

Pizza Ponte, Maria and Enzo’s & Enzo’s Hideaway Bar at Disney Springs!

Pizza Ponte is one of the many new dining locations recently opened at Disney Springs. Pizza Ponte is one third of the new restaurants introduced as part of the ‘Patina Restaurant Group.’ All 3 of these new restaurants are connected together and each provides their own take on Italian cuisine. Pizza Ponte is the quick-service restaurant serving Italian cuisine in a relaxed, laid-back, counter service atmosphere. Next door guests looking for a table-service experience can visit Maria and Enzo’s. And in just a few days Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar, a speakeasy type of bar and lounge will open, completing this trio of brand new Disney Springs eateries!

Buon appetito! Disney Springs Welcomes Three New Italian Concepts

Before we talk about the amazing food let’s first talk about theming! If you are familiar with the Disney Parks then it is no surprise that Disney gives incredible theming and backstories to everything they do. When Disney Springs began its transformation from Downtown Disney to Disney Springs, Disney made sure to give the area a storyline of being a Floridian Springs town that in recent years many restaurants and shops built up around the natural wonder. If you have visited Disney Springs recently then you know that this is truly the feeling you get as you shop and dine around the area. You don’t just feel like you’re at a giant outdoor mall, you feel as though you are on a vacation within your vacation to a sunny Floridian community.

When Disney set out to make this new trio of Italian dining locations they wanted to give these establishments stories that would tie them into the Disney Springs experience. Disney made the building that is home to these new eateries an abandoned airport that has now been remodeled as restaurants! The theming can be noticed in details throughout the building. The first of these details can be seen as soon as guests check in for their meal at Maria and Enzo’s. The hostess station has a passenger check-in sign behind the podium.

The floor plan also suggest that this building was once an airport. While I visited Disney Springs I was given the opportunity to tour the inside dining room for Maria and Enzo’s, it is opened and inviting. The airport theme continues inside as posters on the wall advertise travel destinations. The vibe of the restaurant evokes the spirit of adventure!

The staff at these restaurants are all cultural representatives from Italy making this experience a unique authentic exchange! I enjoyed chatting with some of the staff about what part of Italy they were from. Everyone was so friendly and excited to share stories from their home land.

Alright so now let’s talk about the food. While on my most recent visit to Disney Springs I got to enjoy a slice of pizza at Pizza Ponte. It was a great value for the price and very delicious. If you are familiar with the pizza at Via Napoli the Italian restaurant in Epcot’s World Showcase that taste is what this pizza reminded me of! Just like at Via Napoli this restaurant actually imports the water used to make the dough directly from Italy making it truly authentic.

I really enjoyed my meal at Pizza Ponte. I will absolutely be back again and I can’t wait to enjoy the restaurant’s sister locations, Maria and Enzo’s and Enzo’s Hideaway Bar on a future visit! To take a closer look at these new locations, join me in our New YouTube video as we explore the areas theming and dine at Pizza Ponte!

Restaurant Marrakesh at Epcot

Restaurant Marrakesh is located in Epcot at the Walt Disney World Resort. The restaurant is a hidden gem, tucked away in the back of the Morocco Pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase.

World Showcase is a celebration of cultures and countries around the world. My personal favorite Pavilion happens to be Morocco. The Pavilion is incredibly detailed, walking its streets you feel completely transported. While dining here we learned that the King of Morocco was so honored that Disney wanted to feature his country in Epcot that he sent his personal architects to help design the Pavilion. The authenticity is certainly seen in the details of the beautiful tile work and designs of the buildings.

While dining in Restaurant Marrakesh you are surround in the colorful and intricate beauty of the Moroccan culture.

I always find that you can get a reservation here even last minute because it is such a hidden gem not known by many people. The service here is always spectacular, the waiters are all very knowledgeable about the menu and can make excellent suggestions. The staff is all very attentive and takes excellent care of everything you need throughout your dining experience.

The menu offers something for everyone. On my most recent visit to restaurant Marrakesh I had the Lemon Chicken. It was amazing! I would order this meal again in a heartbeat. The chicken was so flavorful and tender. It melted in your mouth! Other menu offerings include, Shish Kabobs, Roasted Lamb, Mogador Fish Tagine, and a very popular menu item the traditional Moroccan couscous served with your choice of a selection of proteins. I have always loved everything I ever tried here!

As you dine, periodically throughout your meal you can enjoy the live entertainment! The show begins with traditional Moroccan music and then a belly dancer preforms. The dancer even gets the children involved and invites them to join her onstage to learn dances from the Moroccan culture, making for a very special and one of a kind memory.

I always enjoy my meal at Restaurant Marrakesh. I highly recommend this dinning location. Check it out for yourself on your next Disney World vacation!

New Years Eve at Walt Disney World! Fireworks Boat Cruise

Happy New Year! Welcoming a new year is always an exciting night filled with anticipation. If you are spending New Year’s Eve in Disney, then you are in for an extra special treat! Disney knows how to throw a party. For New Year’s Eve Disney goes all out with special countdown fireworks, dance parties in the parks and more festivities to help guests ring in the New Year. If you are looking for a unique experience for your New Year’s Eve celebration, Disney has you covered. They offer a wide variety of special meals, dining packages and events for the New Year’s Eve holiday. These events range from a buffet meal at Epcot’s World Show Place Pavilion to a luxurious countdown to midnight party at the California Grill.

My family and I spent New Year’s Eve in Walt Disney World this year and it was the best New Year’s Eve celebration ever! Disney knows how to make everything extra magical and made the night very special! We did a fireworks boat cruise and got to watch Magic Kingdom’s incredible countdown fireworks from our very own pontoon boat on the Seven Seas Lagoon. The parks can get very crowded on New Year’s Eve, this cruise experience allowed us to see the same fireworks in a much more private and relaxed setting.

Our night began arriving at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa where we would board our boat at the hotel’s marina. As soon as we arrived Disney rolled out the red carpet and made us feel pampered. When we checked in for our cruise we were greeted by our boat’s captain and guide for the evening. He was wonderful and very personable. Our captain escorted us to a special dessert party on the grounds of the Grand Floridian that was exclusive for guests taking cruises that evening. The dessert party was included in the price of our New Year’s Eve cruise. This was the best way to kick off the festivities.

Disney provided us with all our New Year’s Eve gear including hats, tiaras, horns and clappers.

The events offerings included soft drinks, bottled water, coffee and guests over 21 even got to enjoy some adult beverages. For snacks the event included a cheese board, fruits and vegetables, along with a selection of decadent and delicious desserts. My favorite was the chocolate covered strawberries, they were coated in a rich dark chocolate and the presentation was outstanding complete with edible glitter! All of the desserts had beautiful decorations themed to 2018! It made for a very festive start!

The private party also included a DJ who made sure everyone was energized and ready to ring in the new year! We enjoyed our treats and the music all while soaking in the picturesque view of Cinderella Castle and the Magic Kingdom from across the lagoon.

Around 10:30 at night we boarded our pontoon boat with our captain. The boat was decked out for the occasion with New Year’s Eve banners and balloons. What I loved about this boat cruise experience is that they don’t just take you out to the center of the lagoon before the fireworks and drop anchor just to watch the show. The captain really takes his time and takes you on a very relaxing cruise all around Seven Seas Lagoon and also over to Bay Lake. This portion of the experience adds so much. Your captain serves as your guide and as you tour the lake points out interesting facts and stories about the history of the property and the Disney company.

I am a proud self-proclaimed Disney super fan and I learned things during this portion of the cruise that I had never heard before. For example, our captain pointed out that the island located as soon as you enter Bay Lake from Seven Seas Lagoon is call Frontier Island. Nothing inhabits the island but it’s original intension was that Walt Disney wanted to build a house there for him and his family to live in. As we passed Disney’s Contemporary hotel our captain shared that in the Contemporary’s conference center is where Nixon gave his Watergate speech. We also learned while passing the Polynesian that Disney’s Polynesian Village resort was the location where the Beatles broke up. Paul McCartney was staying at the Polynesian when his lawyer came to have him sign the papers, officially splitting up the band. This type of interesting Disney trivia added to the experience and made us feel like we were getting a Disney tour and a special show viewing all in one.

As we neared midnight our captain took us to the location where we would watch the fireworks. We dropped anchor just off of the Polynesian Beach. We had a perfect view of the show. The sky lit up with so many colorful fireworks.  As the stroke of midnight neared the show counted down in the best way I have ever seen! In the sky fireworks in the shape of numbers counted down from 10 to welcome in the New Year! It was hands-down the best fireworks I have ever seen in Disney.

What is it like being at Disney World for Christmas?

Have you ever wondered what it is like being at Disney World for Christmas? What is it like not being at home? How are the crowds?

For years my family and I have always visited Disney around the holidays, typically the first week in December. Visiting Disney this time of year, allowed us to experience all the wonderful additions and Christmas experiences offered in the parks! Coming to Disney during this magical time of year became a family tradition. However as many times as we visited during the holiday season we had never come for the actual week of Christmas. This year we decided to go for it!

We set out on our holiday adventure and drove to Disney World on Christmas Day. We had no idea what to expect. Being away from home for Christmas was a different experience for us. We have been having a wonderful time and have been very surprised about some things! Here’s some of our experience:

Will it feel like Christmas?

Something a lot of people wonder when traveling away from home during the holidays is, will it feel like Christmas? We are from the north and are use to snow on the ground and heavy winter coats, but this Christmas has been celebrated in tee shirts! For us Christmas in paradise has been wonderful. Yes it is very different. It is crazy to talk to our family back home and hear that it is 12 degrees while we are wearing flip-flops, but once you are here Disney has so many holiday offerings and exclusive festivities that you are sure to be in the Christmas spirit!!

Crowd level

Probably the thing we were most concerned about was the crowd level. I had always heard that Christmas week in Disney is the absolute busiest week out of the year. We wondered if we would be able to do anything or if each attraction would be too long to wait for. Well I have to say we are so surprised and very happy that we have not felt any day like the parks have been very crowded. Of course Christmas Day is the most popular day of the year to come to Disney and Magic Kingdom did reach capacity on Christmas Day but other days this week no parks have reached capacity. While yes this is a very busy time with the use of the My Disney Experience app, if you are staying on property at a Disney Resort, you will be able to make your fast passes up to 60 days in advance for the rides that you really want to do so you can guarantee getting to experience them. Also Disney does a wonderful job with managing crowds and we have never felt overwhelmed or like the park was too crowded. Disney even opens select seasonal attractions such as Stitch’s Great Escape at the Magic Kingdom that are not typically open. These additional attractions give guests more to do on some of the busier days therefore helping with the crowd level.

Disney is truly magical during The holidays. You will definitely feel the Christmas spirit, all you need is a little planning ahead of time in order to ensure that you will see and do everything that is important to your family. We will definitely be back for another Christmas week in the future!

Christmas Finale of For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration

Hollywood Studios is home to For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. This show is a ‘can’t miss’ for fans of Disney’s hit movie Frozen!

Two narrators, Aria and Eric tell the story of Frozen while engaging with the audience and improvising some hilarious jokes! The audience is always laughing. I have personally seen the show on several occasions and each time it feels like a new experience because of the narrator’s wonderful comedy!

At the parts in the story where we come to a song, the screen on stage illuminates and plays the clips from the film. The lyrics are also projected onto the screen and the audience is encouraged to ‘Let it go’ and sing along! This element makes the experience truly interactive and fun for all ages!

Throughout the show favorite characters make special appearances including Princess Anna, Kristoff and as the anticipation builds Elsa will then make a grand entrance for the grand finale!

During the Christmas season this show gets a fun holiday overlay! From the beginning of the performance Anna mentions she is searching for her sister so they can prepare for ringing the Arendelle Yule Bell, a holiday tradition in their land. The show then continues regularly and includes some references to the sisters preparing for the Yule Bell Celebration. For the finale guests get a real treat with special holiday songs and a very rare and exclusive appearance from Olaf! Everyone’s favorite snowman sings an original song about holiday traditions. Olaf is not in the regular show so seeing him is truly special. The audience always roars with excitement when he walks out on stage!

The characters all share their favorite parts of the holidays. When it is Elsa turn to share her favorite part about this magical time of year she tells us that her favorite part is being together with the ones she loves. This serves as the lead into another beautiful original song with a very touching meaning! The song will warm your heart with the message of family and love during the Christmas season! It is a beautiful performance!

Watch our YouTube Video to see the special Holiday finale! Enjoy!
