From joining the spine-chilling Sing and Scream to gathering around the Pumpkin Tree for mysterious fun, you won’t want to miss this Halloween celebration!

Here are just some of my favorite ways to celebrate the spookiest time of year onboard a Disney ship:

1. Experience the Mysterious Pumpkin Trees
Each ship’s Pumpkin Tree is unique, with Grim on the Disney Dream, Muckelbones on the Disney Fantasy, Bog on the Disney Wonder and Reap on the Disney Magic. Watch these trees magically transform from eerie and barren into the life of the party with sprouting Jack-O-Lanterns and flickering lights.

After a night of thrills and chills, gather on the upper decks for Haunted Stories of the Sea. A mysterious sea captain will guide the way and tell the tales of the legends who once sailed the high seas many moons ago.

6. Halloween Isn’t Just for Kids
Keep the fun going late at night in the ship’s nighttime entertainment district. With an adults-only costume contest and a Villainous Takeover on the dance floor, the party doesn’t stop when the little ones head to the youth clubs!

So, what are you waiting for? Grab a costume and set sail for a spooky fun time during Halloween on the High Seas aboard the Disney Dream starting Sept. 4, Disney Fantasy starting Sept. 2, Disney Wonder starting Sept. 15 and Disney Magic starting Sept. 27. Happy Haunting!

When you sail on a Disney Cruise Line vacation this fall, they’ll enjoy a wickedly good time as the Disney ships transform into a ghoulish wonderland. Several spooky events are planned to celebrate Halloween including a costume contest for adult Guests and a special costume parade for children.  From spellbinding storytelling, fun-filled family entertainment and yummy treats, the Halloween on the High Seas voyages are truly special.

You can join the special Halloween celebration by bringing along their own costumes. When considering costume options, your Clients should refrain from bringing toys or props that resemble guns, knives or other related implements, as these items will not be allowed onboard.

Top Five Fan Tips for First-time Disney Holiday Cruisers

It’s almost time to kick off the holiday fun aboard all four Disney Cruise ships! Whether your favorite holiday is Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s, Disney has something special for you on either their Halloween on the High Seas voyages or Very Merrytime Cruises.

Here are the best tips you gave for first-time Disney holiday cruisers:

Dress for the occasion… Who says you can only dress up on October 31? Bring a different Halloween costume for each night of your cruise. Pack that tacky Christmas sweater and the family’s matching flannel pajamas. And as always, go all out for Pirate Night!

Get in the spirit and decorate… We’ll have the ship decked out from bow to stern, but you can never have enough decorations! Most stateroom doors are metal, so magnets are the perfect accessory to dress up your space.

Join the festivities… From trick-or-treating to costume contests on our Halloween voyages, and the atrium tree lighting ceremony to meet-and-greets with Santa on our Very Merrytime Cruises, the celebration never ends! Plan to attend as many holiday-themed activities as you can for non-stop fun.

Pack light… Swim suit, sunscreen, dinner attire, costumes and camera… You won’t need much else! We even provide toiletries in your stateroom and towels for the pool and Castaway Cay. Less stuff in your suitcase means more room to take home souvenirs and gifts you purchase for loved ones back home.

Just relax and have fun… It is a vacation after all! The busyness of the holiday season will be waiting for you when you get back.

Planting the Disney Cruise Halloween Pumpkin Trees

Disney Cruise Line is just a few days away from the start of this year’s first Halloween on the High Seas cruise! As Disney Cruise Line prepares for their extra spooky celebration, bringing ghoulishly good fun to all four ships, they are putting the finishing touches on their new Pumpkin Trees.

If you look closely, you may even see some of the décor for Disney‘s Very Merrytime Cruises.

And you thought you needed a lot of space to store your holiday decorations!

Who else is excited to celebrate Halloween and all of the winter holidays with Disney Cruise Line?

First Look at the New Disney Cruise Line Halloween Pumpkin Trees

During the inaugural Halloween on the High Seas cruises aboard the Disney Dream, one of the guest’s favorite features was definitely the giant Pumpkin Tree that towered over the atrium lobby.  This week, Disney Cruise Line gave us a sneak peek at the spooky sketches for the Pumpkin Trees coming to the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder and Disney Fantasy.

Disney Cruise Line is bringing the ghoulish fun of Halloween on the High Seas to all four ships, which means each lobby will have its very own Pumpkin Tree! Halloween fun is always part of a the excitement of a Disney cruise in October, but for the first time ever, beginning in September Disney is offering everyone the extra-special celebration that premiered on the Disney Dream last year. (To learn more about our Halloween on the High Seas cruises, check out the 7 Reasons Halloween is Better on the High Seas from last week.)

The Pumpkin Trees are inspired by Ray Bradbury’s classic tale about the traditions of Halloween, “The Halloween Tree.” During every sailing, the trees magically transform from eerie and barren into the life of the party, with sprouting Jack-O-Lanterns, flickering lights and a booming voice. Each Pumpkin Tree is tended to by a mysterious caretaker, who tells stories of the haunted holiday as guests gather in the ghostly shadow of the tree.

What makes these Pumpkin Trees even more magical is that each one has its own unique look and personality, so guests have something different to look forward to aboard every ship. Disney Cruise Line is planting the seeds for these trees right now, but their team shared concept art that they thought you’d enjoy seeing. Here’s a first look at the frighteningly friendly faces that you will meet aboard our haunted Halloween voyages this fall:

If you love a ghoulishly good time as much as we do, you’re sure to agree that Halloween is better on the Disney Cruise Line. Here’s just seven reasons why we think so …
