These opening dates were an exciting surprise! Prior to finding out the official opening dates this morning, the rumor going around was that the opening dates were going to be much later in the year. Thats why so many including myself are beyond thrilled that the openings are a lot closer than we expected! These openings are just right around the corner!

Lets take a look at some of the fun you can look forward to in Galaxy’s Edge!

Galaxy’s Edge will be home to two brand new state-of-the-art attractions, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance! These attractions will be first of their kind and introduce new technology never before seen in theme parks!

In Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, guests will find themselves right in the middle of an epic battle between the Resistance and the First Order! From the information we know this attraction will hold the longest duration for a Disney attraction! The experience will actually have multiple rides within the same attraction! This is a first for the Disney Parks!

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, will be very interactive and allow guests to take the controls of the fastest ship in the galaxy on a special mission! How you perform your task during the mission will actually effect the outcome of your missions success! We know that there will be multiple ride sequences and every time you ride the attraction it will be a different experience!

Galaxy’s Edge will be a complete immersion into the Star Wars Universe! Every aspect of the land will be fully themed and that includes the food and beverage offerings! There will be many unique items that guest can taste!

You can visit Oga’s Cantina which will be a great place to grab a drink and catch up on the latest gossip while R-3X, formerly the Starspeeder pilot on the original Star Tours, DJ’s a collection of new music! Throughout the land you will find everything from quick-service meals to specialty drinks and snacks!

SO MUCH MORE!

In addition to world-class attractions and galactic culinary offerings there will be so much more to discover in Galaxy’s Edge! You can shop for specialty Star Wars merchandise that will be exclusive to the land! An item that we know will be very popular is the create your own light saber experience!

Disney Skyliner Gondolas Spotted Testing at Walt Disney World! New Mode of Disney Transportation!

Now that we are in 2019 we can officially say that we will be riding onboard the Disney Skyliner Gondolas THIS YEAR! This brand-new mode of Disney transportation looks so fun! I am personally so excited to experience a birds-eye view of Disney property while riding in these Disney gondola cars! Another great benefit that this new Disney transportation system will give us is convenience and a shorter travel time! Everyone knows that the Disney busses can get crammed on busy parks days. Now that the Skyliner system will be servicing multiple Disney Resorts, we can anticipate the new gondolas alleviating some of the crowds on Disney transportation busses.

What is also exciting is that the Skyliner Gondolas will run a line between Epcot and Hollywood Studios to make park hopping faster than ever before. This will alleviate some of the boat crowds that you can find on busy days that run between these two theme parks.

This past week we heard some exciting news from the Walt Disney World Resort! Disney has begun the initial testing phase for its new Disney Skyliner system! This means the Skyliner System may be closer then we all think!

Currently the Skyliner Gondola System is scheduled to open this coming fall. The Skyliner will have stations at four Disney resort hotels including, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and the brand-new Disney’s Riviera Resort which is set to open in December 2019.

I have enjoyed watching the Skyliner’s construction progress over this past year during my visits to Walt Disney World. The stations such as the one at Epcot’s International Gateway and Disney’s Hollywood Studios seem to almost be complete! Both of these stations are perfectly themed to their location!

Many of the gondolas will be adorned with beloved Disney characters! There is a large variety of characters you can get. This adds such a great layer of fun to your ride experience! I can’t wait to see what they all look like in person!

Gondola themes include:

  • “Beauty & the Beast”
  • “Frozen”
  • “Lilo & Stitch”
  • “Moana”
  • “Peter Pan”
  • “The Princess and the Frog”
  • “Ralph Breaks the Internet”
  • “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”
  • “Zootopia”
  • “Coco”
  • Goofy, Pete, Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow
  • “Finding Dory”
  • The Haunted Mansion
  • “Monsters, Inc.”
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • “Ratatouille”

The fact that gondola cars have been spotted being tested on the Skyliner lines makes it very real that this new form of Disney transportation will be here before we know it! I am so excited! I am heading to Disney World next week and will be keeping an eye out for any gondola sightings!

One thing is certain this coming fall will be a very exciting time for new things coming to Walt Disney World! Contact your Kingdom Magic Vacations Travel Planner today to book your next magical adventure!

Top 5 Favorite Christmas Decorations at Walt Disney World!

Christmas is just around the corner! I can’t believe how fast this season has flown by! I am feeling so fortunate to have experienced the magic of the holidays at the most magical place on Earth this year, Walt Disney World! During my visit to Disney last month I made sure to check out all of my favorite Christmas displays and festivities across Disney property! What I love about the holidays in Walt Disney world is that there is SO MUCH to discover! Every inch of the park is decked out and in such a unique and creative way! Disney doesn’t just put up a generic tree and garland in a gift shop. Oh no! Quite the contrary they theme every decoration specifically to the restaurant, shop or resort that it is in! For example, the ice cream shop on Main Street has garland and trees featuring ice cream cone ornaments! Over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa all their decorations have a Victorian style to them to perfectly compliment the theme of resort itself!

9 Must-Do’s For Fall Visits to Walt Disney World Resort

There truly is so much to see when it comes to the decorations around Walt Disney World! I recommend truly taking your time going through the parks this time of year. Be sure to stop and truly appreciate the details of the holiday decorations. There is so much to discover! Today I would like to share with you my top 5 favorite Disney World Christmas displays that are more hidden gem displays! I am leaving out the well-known park icon trees and big centerpiece decorations and going to countdown my favorite decorations that are a bit more obscure! These displays both big and small are something that I look forward to seeing year after year!

#5 Mickey Wreaths

Christmas wreaths in the shape of Mickey Mouse adorned every lamppost down main Street USA! This decoration is a Disney classic! I love it for its simplicity. It is very traditional and from a distance you may not even notice it is a Mickey, but as you begin to stroll down Main Street towards the castle you can’t miss this little touch of magic!

#4 Poinsettia Trees

I have always loved poinsettias! I think they are so beautiful and I always know the Christmas season has begun once I start seeing those festive flowers! Disney uses gorgeous poinsettias in many of their holiday displays. By far my favorite creation Disney produces using poinsettias is their poinsettia trees! Using a towering framework in a rounded tree shape Disney florists will cover every inch of the framework with poinsettias! These poinsettia trees are spectacular and make an amazing backdrop for a family Christmas photo! Poinsettia trees can be seen in multiple places across Walt Disney World property! There are always some lining the walkway between Future World and World Showcase in Epcot as well as poinsettia trees in the entrance hub of Magic Kingdom. Pictured here you will see a poinsettia tree on the grounds of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

#3 Rockette-Style Christmas Ornaments

A display that I get so excited to see every year can be found in a storefront in Hollywood Studios! Disney is known for creating incredible window displays in many of their shopfronts and this particular display at Hollywood Studios can’t be missed! Larger than life Minnie Mouse Christmas ornaments are forming a Rockette kick-line! This display is so adorable and fun! It definitely fits into the glitz and glamour of Hollywood Studios!

#2 Echo Lake Decorations

A few years ago, Hollywood Studios icon tree moved from out-front of the park to inside the park to the center of Echo Lake. I know I said in this countdown, main centerpieces such as icon trees don’t count and that is still true. The decorations I am referring to in echo lake are the smaller accent pieces that compliment the area around the icon tree’s new location! The park’s tree sits on an island in the middle of the lake. In the water surrounding the island you will find one of my favorite Christmas decorations across all of Walt Disney World… floating Christmas ornaments! These floating baubles are beautiful all day long but at night they become a real showstopper and actually light up! These lighted baubles illuminate the water around them and create such a cool effect! I think this was the area of the park I spent the most time in just admiring the decorations and taking tons of photos!

#1 Grand Floridian Gingerbread House

My top spot on my list goes to a hidden gem that I enjoy seeing year after year, the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House!  This is not your normal gingerbread house! This pastry masterpiece is life-size! The inside of the gingerbread house is an actual working store where you can purchase gingerbread treats and other festive snacks and goodies! This year the Grand Floridian Gingerbread house is celebrating its 20th annual year! I highly recommend making the trip over to Disney’s Grand Floridian resort and spa to see this one of a kind creation. From the Magic Kingdom park you can easily commute to Disney’s Grand Floridian via a boat or monorail! Definitely make sure to take the time to check it out! You will be glad you did!

Imagineers have been working hard to create Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The new ride that will be taking the place of where the Great Movie Ride once was will use breakthrough technology to transform a two-dimensional cartoon into an amazing real-world experience. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be the first-ever ride-through attraction that will be themed to Mickey Mouse! As a big Mickey and Minnie Mouse fan I am so excited Mickey and Minnie will have their very own attraction! The new attraction will feature a brand-new original story and a lovable theme song as it takes guests on a journey inside the wacky and unpredictable world of Disney Channel’s Emmy Award-winning “Mickey Mouse” cartoon shorts.
