Two New Acts Added to Cirque du Soleil La Nouba On Travel With Rick

This week on Travel With Rick,  we bring you the two newest acts added to Cirque du Soleil ‘La Nouba’. During the Awaken Summer Media event, we had the pleasure of viewing the new additions to La Nouba, it’s not the entire show, just the two new acts, “B Boys and Aerial Bamboo”.

B Boys is a fast paced “break dance” type act where three guys spin, twist, jump and flip! Aerial Bamboo is a traditional circus act rarely performed today, you can count the number of top professionals doing it on one hand.

You can escape to a wondrous world of make-believe during this stunning shows, featuring more than 65 artists representing 15 countries. Plus, this is a great opportunity for you to experience brand new acts including daring aerial bamboo artists and high-energy break dancers.

Real-life partners Alexander and Exaterina Abramov come to La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil as masters of a craft perfected by only a handful of artists around the world – Aerial Bamboo. The act requires extreme trust as for most of the performance, Exaterina is held only by Alexander – his arms, his feet and even his teeth – as he himself hangs by his feet or arms high above the stage. This mesmerizing act will leave you breathless!

And, for the first time in the history of Cirque du Soleil, La Nouba has dedicated an entire act to the high-energy dance B-Boying, commonly referred to as breakdancing. There’s Something Special about Spring at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort

The first official day of spring is Sunday, but already, the season seems well underway.  Below are just a few reasons why we love visiting Disney Springs this time of year, in no particular order:

Flowers and Displays – From a new installation featuring character statues from “Zootopia” to the bold pink blooms scattered throughout the property, there is so much beauty to behold. We may be biased, but we think our flowers are among the prettiest at Walt Disney World Resort (and they make a great photo backdrop)!

Spring Hats – Easter and hats go hand in hand. Same for spring and fashion. At Chapel Hats, you can check all the boxes with sophisticated headwear that’s always in style.

Special Sweets – St. Patrick’s Day is Thursday and The Ganachery is celebrating with limited edition Irish Cream Liquor Ganache with Milk Chocolate and Stout Ganache with Dark Chocolate through the holiday. Next up are Easter lollipops featuring a new coconut flavor, set to debut on March 19th.

A Bountiful Brunch – While some Disney Springs locations offer brunch year-round (the House of Blues Gospel Brunch is every Sunday and the Rollicking Raglan Bruch now takes place on both weekend days), on Easter, many additional restaurants offer something unique. This year, The Wolfgang Puck Dining Room, Portobello, Fulton’s Crab House, House of Blues and Bongos will all feature a special Easter menu.

In just a couple of months, Town Center will open alongside the springs of Disney Springs, giving us even more to look forward to! In the meantime, I’m enjoying all that exists now – from World of Disney at the Marketplace to the amazing new acts at La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil on the West Side. No matter the season, there’s something for everyone to enjoy during a day at Disney Springs.

Spring or not, what’s your favorite thing to do while visiting? Share in the comments below, we’d love to know!

New Acts Bring Fresh Energy to ‘La Nouba’ by Cirque du Soliel

About a year and a half ago, “La Nouba,” the resident Cirque du Soliel show at Disney Springs (back then it was still Downtown Disney) introduced a duo of new clowns. It was a nice refresh to an already fantastic experience. The team at “La Nouba” is at it again, this time bringing in two brand-new acts: a high-energy trio of breakdancing b-boys that will make your head spin and a mesmerizing aerial bamboo act that will leave you breathless.

If you’re a fan of shows like “You Think You Can Dance” and “America’s Best Dance Crew” then the b-boys may very well become your favorite act. The performers, all well-known solo artists, go by stage names Bebo, Incredible Josh and Flying-buddha. They mix hip-hop and breakdance moves in dizzying combinations; with choreography that merges from freestyle solo moments to precision-timed moves in unison, I can only imagine how much time the boys spent in rehearsal before hitting the stage.

With a rare mix of rhythm, strength and straight-from-the-streets confidence, this threesome has added a bold hint of urban flair to “La Nouba” that can’t be adequately described in mere words. Truly, the best advice I can suggest is that you see the updated show for yourself!
