If you’ve experienced the park’s “opening moment” during previous vacations, you may recall waiting at the front of the park to kick off the day.

Beginning January 9, guests will be allowed to enter the Main Street, U.S.A. area of the park even earlier than the park’s scheduled opening time. This will allow guests time to savor the charm of Main Street, U.S.A., enjoy breakfast or a warm drink at the Main Street Bakery featuring Starbucks. Then promptly at opening, a new welcome show will officially open the park for the day on the Castle Forecourt Stage. A Royal Herald will appear to deliver a proclamation and welcome a few familiar characters to the stage, officially opening the park so “the magic can begin!”

Disney After Hours Offers Magic Kingdom Experience Like Never Before

Disney After Hours, a new, late-night ticketed experience is underway at Magic Kingdom Park and it’s offering guests an experience like never before – after regular park hours.

DADMKFI6789436

A Disney After Hours ticket, which is separately priced from a regular Magic Kingdom admission ticket, allows entry into the park at 7 pm to enjoy dining, evening entertainment like fireworks, the “Celebrate the Magic” nighttime projection show and the Main Street Electrical Parade.

Then, as day guests leave at the regularly scheduled closing time, Disney After Hours participants are able to enjoy three more hours of little-to-no-wait access to more than 25 attractions. It’s perfect if you want to hop to as many attractions as possible.

We recently held our first “Disney After Hours” event at Magic Kingdom Park. And after talking to guests about what they loved, here are five reasons you should consider it for your upcoming vacation.

1. Access to Attractions with little to no wait – More than 25 attractions remain open during Disney After Hours. A limited number of tickets are sold for each event night, meaning significantly shorter – or maybe even no lines!

2. Park Access – While the Event begins after regular park closing, your ticket allows admission earlier. The Disney After Hours ticket allows you in the park at 7 p.m. so you can enjoy the evening parade and fireworks.

3. Meet Characters – both Mickey Mouse and Disney princesses are available for photo ops, usually again with much shorter lines.

4. Amazing photo ops – Have you ever wanted to take that perfect picture of your favorite attraction lit up at night? Smaller crowds may make that possible.

5. Ice cream included – Mickey Premium Bar lovers won’t want to miss out on this part of the night. Beverages are also included.

Disney recently opened a new retail MagicBand on Demand station inside the Tomorrowland Power & Light Co. location near Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom Park. This new option for guests is similar to the D-Tech on Demand boutique first introduced in June 2014 at the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs Marketplace (as seen in this video).

space-magicbandAt the Tomorrowland location, you may choose to create either a retail MagicBand or a D-Tech phone case. If creating a retail MagicBand, we offer your choice of eight different MagicBand colors including purple.

MBOD48054

There are also approximately 40 graphics to apply to your custom MagicBand. There will be a few MagicBand graphics that will only be found in this location that salute classic Magic Kingdom Park attractions and icons (the first image in this story has a few examples).

In addition to artwork, the retail MagicBand can be personalized with a name printed on the outside.

Once designed, the retail MagicBand is printed in the location. The printers use UV ink which dries immediately and requires no cooling time.

dmbsbp3845-613x409

For the final step, the custom retail MagicBand can be either associated to your My Disney Experience account, or you can give it as a gift to friends or family who may be visiting Walt Disney World Resort soon.

Retail for a custom retail MagicBand is $21.95 while a personalized retail MagicBand is $29.95.

The New Princess Fairytale Hall Opens Its Doors September 18 at Magic Kingdom

While Walt Disney Imagineers are busy putting the finishing touches on Princess Fairytale Hall in Magic Kingdom Park, they shared some news and a video with us. This exquisitely detailed Disney Princess character greeting location is the next to debut as a part of the New Fantasyland expansion – and Disney Parks Blog was happy to share that the Hall will officially open its doors on Sept. 18.

The New Princess Fairytale Hall Opens Its Doors September 18 at Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney Imagineering also shared a new sneak peek video with us in honor of today’s announcement. In it, Imagineers Pam Rawlins and Jason Grandt explain just how detailed this new character greeting area will be. In addition to a castle-like entrance, high ceilings and elegant wood-paneled rooms, the space will feature beautiful princess portraits, themed wallpaper, glittering stained glass windows and accessories that have been inspired by props seen in films like “Cinderella” and “Tangled.”

As a reminder, Princess Fairytale Hall will offer two separate character greeting experiences, which means there are two queues to choose from. You can choose to meet either Cinderella or Rapunzel, each of whom will be joined by one fellow Disney princess.

And yes, Princess Fairytale Hall will offer both traditional Disney FASTPASS and the new Disney FastPass+ options.
