U.S. Navy Blue Angels to Fly Over Magic Kingdom Park

U.S. Navy Blue Angels to Fly Over Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort

All eyes at Magic Kingdom Park will be focused on the sky this Thursday morning as the U.S. Navy Blue Angels fly over Main Street U.S.A. The Blue Angels are expected to make two passes above Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort on April 6 between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m.

In 2015, the Blue Angels performed similar flyovers to the cheers of thousands of guests at the theme park. Then, Six F/A-18 Hornet jets roared down Main Street U.S.A. at more than 250 miles an hour on a first pass before executing what is called a Delta Break over Cinderella Castle.

Take A Behind-the-Scenes Look At The Making Of ‘Happily Ever After’

Take A Behind-the-Scenes Look At The Making Of ‘Happily Ever After’

We’re just about six weeks away from the debut of the new nighttime fireworks spectacular “Happily Ever After” at Magic Kingdom Park.

Today we’re happy to share a new look into the creation of what will soon go down in Disney theme park history as one of the most elaborate nighttime shows ever created. It will feature the latest in fireworks, pyrotechnics and projection technology, plus fresh animation, a new score and theme song – all of which the creative team used as tools that together tell a story only Disney can tell. “Happily Ever After” will also feature (or reference) more Disney characters than any other show to date.

According to Executive Creative Director Michael Jung, the show will take park guests on a “hero’s journey” that encourages us to dream our biggest dream and never give up.

“Happily Ever After” will debut at Magic Kingdom Park on May 12.

First Listen: Sneak a Peek at Our ‘Happily Ever After’ Theme Song

In just a few weeks, the new fireworks show “Happily Ever After,” will debut at Magic Kingdom Park with more lasers, lights and projections than ever before – not to mention contemporary versions of popular Disney songs.

And speaking of music, the show will feature a brand-new theme song titled “Happily Ever After,” a song that encourages us to dream our biggest dream possible and to never give up. The duet is sung by country music artist Angie Keilhauer and singer Jordan Fisher, whom you may recognize from the “Moana” soundtrack or the 2016-winter 2017 cast of Broadway’s “Hamilton.” Our cameras recently went behind-the-scenes at the recording session when vocals were laid down for the song to catch a “first listen.”

“Happily Ever After” will debut at Magic Kingdom Park on May 12.

“Happily Ever After,” a new nighttime spectacular that will combine the magic of Disney storytelling, beloved Disney characters, fireworks and so much more, will debut at Magic Kingdom Park on May 12.

The spectacular will inspire guests to seek out and find their own “Happily Ever After” by showcasing some of the greatest adventures Disney characters have taken to achieve their dreams. The show will feature the latest fireworks and pyrotechnics and original animation, plus a heart-tugging original score. And thanks to the inclusion of state-of-the-art projection mapping technology, more Disney characters than ever before will be featured in the show, including moments from “Moana,” “Brave,” “Big Hero 6,” “Zootopia,” “The Princess & The Frog,” “Aladdin” and many others.

The Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace will continue to offer up a scrumptious way to view the nighttime fun as “Happily Ever After” makes its debut.

New Ways To Start Your Day At The Magic Kingdom

Are you planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort in 2017? New enhancements are coming to the way guests will experience the opening of Magic Kingdom Park – starting on January 9!

sdkjfn01301

If you’ve experienced the park’s “opening moment” during previous vacations, you may recall waiting at the front of the park to kick off the day.

Beginning January 9, guests will be allowed to enter the Main Street, U.S.A. area of the park even earlier than the park’s scheduled opening time. This will allow guests time to savor the charm of Main Street, U.S.A., enjoy breakfast or a warm drink at the Main Street Bakery featuring Starbucks. Then promptly at opening, a new welcome show will officially open the park for the day on the Castle Forecourt Stage. A Royal Herald will appear to deliver a proclamation and welcome a few familiar characters to the stage, officially opening the park so “the magic can begin!”

Cap it all off with one of two showings of “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.” The 6:00 p.m. show will include our holiday finale, while the 11:40 p.m. performance will be followed by a countdown and pyrotechnic salute to the New Year.
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Ring in the New Year beginning at 7 p.m. with a high energy DJ dance party at Center Stage, leading up to a countdown to midnight and fireworks celebration. You can also enjoy two incredible nighttime spectaculars, with “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” at 9 p.m. and “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” just after midnight.
  • Magic Kingdom Park – Get a head start on the festivities, with a special New Year’s Eve eve presentation of “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks at 11:50 p.m. on Friday, December 30. The same show will be repeated on December 31. “Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire” Set To Open In June 2016 At Magic Kingdom Park

Beginning this summer at Walt Disney World Resort, Mickey Mouse and his friends will welcome favorite characters from some of Disney’s newest classics in “Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire.” This all-new live stage show makes its debut in June on the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage at Magic Kingdom Park, with special appearances by Tiana and Naveen from “The Princess and the Frog,” Rapunzel and Flynn from “Tangled” and Anna and Elsa from “Frozen.”

dtnemail-Mickey_s_Royal_Friendship_Faire-63562

“Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire” brings to the stage fantastic costumes, lively dancing, special effects magic and memorable musical moments, including the original song “On This Day” by songwriters Brendan Milburn and Valerie Vigoda (“Toy Story: The Musical,” “Tinker Bell: Secret of the Wings”).

In the show, Mickey and his troupe of Merry Makers have been preparing to host a joyous festival and have ventured far and wide to invite friends from other lands to join their celebration. From the Land of the Bewitching Bayous, Goofy has invited Tiana, Naveen and Louis to add a little spice of New Orleans jazz to the party. From the Land of the Enchanted Woods, Donald Duck brings some new friends he met at the Snuggly Duckling, and Daisy introduces us to her special guests, Rapunzel and Flynn. Finally, Mickey shares a surprise with Minnie, as he has traveled to the Land of the Mystic Mountains to invite Olaf, Anna and Elsa, who contributes a blast of her icy magic. It all culminates in a grand dance, as the Merry Makers invite all their new friends to join in the fun on this special day in Magic Kingdom Park.

“Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire” celebrates the unique stories of the citizens who make up this magical kingdom. The celebration begins this June!
