Riding the wave of the epic film opening of Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok,” guests aboard the Disney Magic are finding even more ways to unleash their inner Super Heroes and mythical gods during Marvel Day at Sea. And a huge thrill for everyone, the mischievous Loki is making his debut as part of a Disney vacation experience for the first time ever!
While onboard, you may come face-to-face with Thor or catch Loki lurking around the ship, as these half-brothers take a brief break from fighting side-by-side or their latest bout of sibling rivalry. In fact, Loki’s presence on Marvel Day at Sea marks his very first appearance as part of a Disney vacation experience.
If you happen upon Loki, he may charm you like only the God of Mischief can. But always remember, Loki is a roguish trickster, burdened with the glorious purpose of spreading mayhem!
Thor and Loki also appear in “Marvel Heroes Unite” – the action-packed stunt spectacular that showcases Marvel Super Heroes and Villains, facing off in a sensational battle at sea.
During Marvel Day at Sea and on all Disney ships, year-round, you can see the biggest Disney and Marvel films onboard, the same day they are released on land. Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok” is now showing now across the Disney Cruise Line fleet.

The premiere of Marvel Day at Sea is just around the corner! If you love Marvel, you’ll want to join us as we count down the weeks to this epic celebration on select cruises aboard the Disney Magic.
Over the next several weeks, we’re featuring some of the mighty Marvel Super Heroes you can meet onboard during the daylong event, giving you insights into who they are and how you can get some face time with them. First up, Captain America …
Patriotic soldier Steve Rogers took the super soldier serum giving him super-human powers and learned the vital values to become the living symbol of freedom and liberty, Captain America. He is the master strategist in the field and has superior agility, strength, speed and endurance. The patriotic hero with an indestructible shield embodies honor, integrity, courage and trustworthiness.
You may see Captain America patrolling the ship or visiting Marvel’s Avengers Academy, teaching kids the true qualities of being a hero like honor, courage and teamwork. The star-spangled man with a plan also has a big role in the Marvel Day at Sea nighttime deck show, which will be the largest collection of Marvel Super Heroes and Super Villains ever assembled at sea.
Stay tuned to meet more Super Heroes assembling for Marvel Day at Sea, which premieres on select 7- and 8-night Disney Cruise Line sailings from New York this fall, and returns on select 5-night Western Caribbean cruises from Miami in early 2018.
Disney Cruise Line has revealed that Star-Lord, Gamora and Groot from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will be joining the fun during this day-long celebration aboard the Disney Magic. Meeting this group of spacefaring misfits is just one of the many reasons I’m so excited about our Marvel Day at Sea cruises kicking off this fall.
What’s more, I’m thrilled to unveil an adult-exclusive Marvel Day at Sea experience inspired by the Guardian’s interstellar adventures. After a full day of family events, what should you do next? Something good, something bad? Bit of both? Well, we’re giving adults time to kick back in Fathoms nightclub, now a Ravager hideout.
While you mingle with the interstellar outlaws, an electrifying alien dance performance gets the fun started, amping up the energy before a few of your favorite Guardians join the party. As the night continues, you may even get to see the dance-loving Star-Lord get his groove on. As Drax says, “There are two types of beings in the universe: those who dance and those who do not.” Which type are you?
Throughout the summer, I’ll be giving you more details about our Marvel Day at Sea voyages, including the Super Heroes and Villains you’ll meet, plus the activities that will transport you in the Marvel Universe. This epic event premieres on select 7- and 8-night Bahamian and Canada cruises from New York this fall, and returns on select 5-night Western Caribbean cruises from Miami in early 2018.
