Last Friday, Dylan McDermott visited Disney California Adventure park with his daughters Charlotte and Collette, to celebrate Charlotte’s seventh birthday. He made a quick stop on Buena Vista Street to check out the new Red Car Trolley, and made quite a fashion statement in his Conductor Mickey hat.
“We’ve been coming [to Disneyland Resort] for years – the girls get so excited,” he told me. “They know it’s the happiest place on Earth.”
When I first saw the Red Car Trolley in Disney California Adventure park I knew it would be a great fit for this series. Our Broadcast Services team did an amazing job mounting four cameras in six different positions throughout the trolley as it traveled down Hollywood Blvd to Buena Vista Street and back again. The diagram below shows where each camera was placed to create this truly unique point-of-view video. Enjoy!
All kinds of fantastic entertainment productions have debuted this summer at Disney California Adventure park, from the Red Car News Boys to Mad T Party. A lesser-known gem among these new shows, though, is “Instant Concert! … just add water,” a symphonic series of music and water on the shores of Paradise Bay.
Narrated in the style of the classic “How To” cartoons of the 1940s, each performance features the unexpectedly accomplished Maestro Goofy. He strides to the podium and raises his baton to conduct the fountains in the bay, providing both comic and dramatic interpretations of compositions ranging from “Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2” to “Holiday for Strings.” Take a look:
These 5-minute mini-concerts happen several times each day in the Paradise Park area near The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, so check the park’s show times guide on your next visit.
