AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Returns To Universal Orlando Resort’s Halloween Horror Nights

Don’t Enter…Dead Inside. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

AMC's The Walking Dead (1)

This fall, Universal Orlando Resort is bringing back AMC’s hit series, “The Walking Dead,” to Halloween Horror Nights, propelling guests into the most horrifying highlights of all six seasons – all in one unbelievably terrifying haunted house.

Guests will walk – or run – in the footsteps of the show’s cast of survivors, fending off packs of flesh-hungry walkers at every turn. They’ll step inside instantly-recognizable locations, such as the hospital from Season 1 where Rick awakens to a world overrun with the dead, the unnerving home of the Governor in Season 3 and the seemingly-safe refuge, Terminus, from Season 4.

The experience will culminate with iconic scenes from Season 6, where guests will trudge through a decomposed sewer and try to evade the brutal pack of villains, The Wolves, after they’ve invaded Alexandria. Along the way, they’ll rush to avoid the bite of the show’s most memorable walkers – including some that have never been seen before at “Halloween Horror Nights.”

A popular “Halloween Horror Nights” staple at Universal Studios Hollywood, “The Walking Dead” has turned into an immersive 365-day experience inviting guests to step into a no-holds-barred zombie apocalypse. Brought to life with immersive detail, the new theme park attraction and “Halloween Horror Nights’’ offering is a collaboration with AMC and series Executive Producer and Director Greg Nicotero, whose special effects company, KNB Efx, raises the dead on the blockbuster TV series as well as for Universal Studios’ new permanent daytime  attraction.

Coupled with authentic walker make-up effects, sophisticated animatronic walkers, substantially more detailed set design and costuming, and highly recognizable props replicated from the series, Universal Studios Hollywood’s “The Walking Dead” attraction will deliver an uncompromised realistic environment that brings guests even further into the most watched show in cable television history.  Please click here for more on “The Walking Dead” permanent attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood.

“The Walking Dead” is one of the most successful cable television shows in history. Based on the graphic novels by Robert Kirkman, its passionate fan base continues to grow and follow the story of survivors in a post-apocalyptic world filled with ferocious walkers. The show returns for a seventh season in October, enabling fans to relive their favorite moments at “Halloween Horror Nights” before watching all-new episodes.

Universal Studios’ “Halloween Horror Nights” is the ultimate Halloween event. For more than 20 years, guests from around the world have visited “Halloween Horror Nights” in Orlando and Hollywood to become victims inside their own horror film. The streets of each coast’s event are transformed into highly-themed scare zones where menacing “scare-actors” lunge from every darkened corner. Multiple movie-quality haunted houses are erected throughout the event, based on anything from iconic slasher films to hit horror television series to haunting original stories.

Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando Unveils All-New Guest Room Design Inspired by a Luxury Island Paradise

Inspired by the adventurous spirit and exotic destinations of the Golden Age of Travel, designers have completed the renovation of guest rooms at Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando.

LRPR-Double-Queen

The new look captures the tranquil serenity and bold heritage that embodies the spirit of the islands. With its on-site location at Universal Orlando Resort, the hotel offers guests a modern sense of adventure, filled with the magic and excitement of two world-class theme parks – Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.

“Our new rooms are vibrant and luxurious, evoking the romance of traveling to the South Pacific” says Complex Managing Director Barb Bowden. “Combined with an extensive upgrade and renovation to the bathrooms, it is an entirely new room product for our guests to experience.”

The guest rooms reflect the magic that exotic destinations in the South Pacific cast over traveler’s hearts at the turn of the 20thcentury, as well as today. The color palette was inspired by the islands, with sandy neutrals punctuated with hints of turquoise and tangerine reminiscent of sand, water and flowers.  Gray and charcoal accents tie back to the lava and harder elements of the islands. Custom furniture pieces make use of leather strapping details, metal corner guards, buckles and rivets, all elements found in vintage luggage, steamer trunks and majestic steamships. A focal point in the new rooms is the accent wall, where a custom graphic creates an art moment showcasing the flora, fauna and native motifs of the South Seas.

Guests staying at Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando receive an exclusive package of theme park benefits at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, including free Universal Express Unlimited ride access to skip the regular lines in both theme parks (theme park admission required) and Early Park Admission.  The 1,000-room hotel is located a short walk, complimentary water taxi or shuttle bus ride away from both Universal Orlando Resort theme parks. Guests also enjoy exceptional cuisine in a variety of restaurants and lounges, complimentary Wi-Fi, a weekly luau dinner and show and a lagoon-style swimming pool with private cabanas.

They’ll be paralyzed with fear as they witness the power of the supernatural, scream uncontrollably as they become part of Regan MacNeil’s possession and run in terror as they try to escape the horrific battle between innocence and evil.

Universal Studios Hollywood’s “The Exorcist” maze will resonate as a real life interpretation of the demonic film, daring “Halloween Horror Nights’” guests to live the nightmare experienced by a tortured Regan and her determined mother.  The maze will recreate some of the film’s most haunting scenes, ushering guests into its unparalleled terror as if their very souls were possessed by the devil.

Universal Studios’ “Halloween Horror Nights” is the ultimate Halloween event. For more than 20 years, guests from around the world have visited “Halloween Horror Nights” in Orlando and Hollywood to become victims inside their own horror film.
