Walt
Disney World Fishing Excursions
In the late 1960’s Walt Disney World planners released 70,000 bass fingerlings
into Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. Fishing in these waters was not permitted
until 1977, which allowed ample time for the bass to grow and breed undisturbed.
Today the fishing in these waters is spectacular and has caught the attention of
the sport-fishing world. Such professional bass fisherman as Jimmy Houston, Hank
Parker and Bill Dance have all fished these productive waterways.
While guests can expect to land bass-weighing 2 to 8 pounds routinely the record
for largemouth bass stands at 14 pounds, 6 ounces.
