The
Liberty Tree Tavern
Located at Disney’s
Magic Kingdom®
Park
On
most any day, thousands of people walk down Mainstreet U.S.A. and by this
restaurant heading for Frontierland. On this day, we decided to do more than
just walk by, we had planned a relaxing lunch right in the middle of Liberty
Square at the Liberty Tree Tavern.
With much anticipation we made our way up the steps and to the
podium and check in. Within a couple of minutes, our name was
called along with the state we were from, and the hostess escorted
us to
our table in the Ben Franklin room. Each room is named after a
historical American figure, and decorated with items related to
them.
After being
seated, we perused the menu for a dish to suit our fancy. There we
appetizers of salads, cheese sticks and crab cakes, along with a
couple of soups. Entrees included Cider-cured Salmon, New England
Pot Roast... the Tavern Keeper's Favorite, William Penn Pasta - a
marinated chicken with a creamy marinara sauce over penne pasta, and
the Pilgrims' Feast - Traditional Roast Turkey and Herb Bread
Dressing with Mashed Potatoes. There was also a Colony Entree Salad,
and several sandwiches including the Old Glory Burger and Turkey
Panini.
This day my
dining partner and I both chose the Colony Salad, it was a hot day
out side, and we wanted a lighter entree as we had a big day in the
Magic Kingdom planned. Our salads came topped with grilled chicken,
Washington apples, sweet pecans, smoked cheddar and a honey-shallot
vinaigrette. The salad was large and filling, but didn't leave us
overstuffed and needing a nap!
We loved
the atmosphere of the Liberty Tree with it's Colonial feel, but this
day it seems the kids outnumbered the adults and it was quite loud,
but you have to expect and understand that being right in the heart
of the Magic Kingdom. This is a great stop for lunch or dinner, and
a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the theme park
crowds, you can enjoy a meal, relax and rejuvenate for another
charge at the attractions of the park.
At dinner,
Minnie and her friends dressed in their finest Revolutionary War-era
garb will welcome you for a revolutionary dinner feast. Your Mouse
hostess invites you to enjoy a hearty American meal of roasted
turkey, marinated flank steak and other colonial favorites with all
the trimmings. This is served family style, and is all-you-care-to
eat. |
