Located off the gorgeous lobby of the Wilderness Lodge is the Whispering Canyon restaurant where we recently enjoyed a wonderful tasty breakfast and had the opportunity to share the pleasure that the Disney staff brings to the young patrons of this restaurant.
The antics of the waiters and waitresses have the children and adults roaring with laughter. When they brought out a barrel of broomstick horses and the kids had a parade around the dining room it was not only delightful but brought back pleasant memories from my youth many decades ago. When someone asks for different condiments such as ketchup or strawberry jelly a waiter will announce to the patrons that you want this item and the entire dining room will converge on your table with all of ketchup or jelly in the house. Laughter again fills the room. This is a truly great place to start your day.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is always a great choice when visiting Disney World but the Christmas season is extra special. Of all of the hotels we have visited in Disney World the Wilderness Lodge gets the top choice for decorating for the season. With garland draped on all of the balcony railings surrounding the soaring lobby and a huge perfectly shaped Christmas tree that must be at least forty feet high and decorated beautifully and festive bows seemingly everywhere you look it is easy to see why children and adults enjoy the Wilderness Lodge so much.

The wilderness Lodge is modeled after the great lodges in our National Parks, Yellowstone Lodge to be specific. The architecture and the furnishings make the Wilderness Lodge a delightful place to call home when visiting Disney World. The lodge and the close by Fort Wilderness campground are convenient to all of the parks with buses and water transportation moving people to and from on a regular basis.
