INSIDE OR OUTSIDE... YOU DECIDE
|
Orlando
Florida is the number one travel destination in
the world, and there are more hotel rooms in the
Orlando area than any other destination
globally. Given these two travel statistics, the
seemingly simple task of choosing resort
accommodations becomes somewhat more
complicated.
Basically, there are two options with a WDW
vacation, on-site or off-site. There are a wide
array of fine resorts and hotels to choose
from, but it comes down more to an issue of
convenience than cost. While it may be true that
Disney Resort hotels have a reputation of being
more expensive than off-site properties,
actually, this is not the case. Particularly,
since the addition of the All-Star Sports and
All-Star Music resorts, starting at just $77 per
night, there is a Disney resort for every
budget.
| The convenience of staying on-site at WDW will so greatly enhance your stay, that it far outweighs any cost comparisons travelers may be considering. There are many time-saving features linked to staying on site, and Disney extends special privileges and benefits to resort guests that travelers staying off-site do not enjoy. |
-
Convenience. Staying
on-site allows guests to take
advantage of the WDW
transportation system. You are
right in the middle of the
magic, and can travel between
the parks and resorts with
greater ease. This is
particularly good if you are
traveling with small children,
and would like to go back to
your resort for a mid-day swim
or nap.
-
Dining Reservations.
After your WDW reservations are
made, guests can make dining
reservations, as well as
character dining and dinner show
reservations over the phone as
much as 60 days in advance. This
includes Theme Park, Resort, and
Downtown Disney restaurants. The
number is 407-WDW-DINE
(407-939-3463)
-
Childcare and Babysitting.
Many of the Disney resorts offer
"clubs" that are themed to their
location that provide childcare
for potty-trained children, 3-12
years. Some of these, like the
Neverland Club at the Polynesian
Resort, include a buffet for the
kids. Also available are the
Fairy Godmother and Kinder-Care
in-room babysitting services.
Kinder-Care: (407)827-5444.
Fairy Godmother:
(407)277-3724 or
(407)275-7326. For more info

-
Guaranteed Theme Park
Admissions. On days of
particularly heavy attendance,
the theme parks may become full,
and closed to the general
public. WDW resort guests are
still guaranteed admission.
-
Free Parking. WDW resort
guests enjoy free parking at the
resorts and theme parks.
| Not only are there general advantages associated with staying on-site, there are specific activities and conveniences provided by each WDW resort. Each one has it’s own unique flavor and character. Click on any of the names below for a detailed description of the resort. |
