The Stars and Motor Cars Parade

This 20-minute parade serves as a tribute to Walt Disney’s extraordinary movie career. Some 15 custom designed cars and 3 motorcycles are loaded with a who’s who from Disney classic films both past and present.

In addition to the nearly 60 character performers taking part in the parade the street is lined with street performers serving as emcees.

The parade, which is presented daily during the afternoon, makes its way from the Star Tours gate, around Echo Lake and then down Hollywood Boulevard before disappearing just before the parks entrance.

If you find yourself front and center along the parade route look for the many walking characters that will be interacting with guests.

Traffic Patterns during the parade
This daily event will all but bring pedestrian traffic to a halt anywhere near the parade route. If you don’t plan on viewing the parade make plans to tour along Mickey Avenue, Animation Courtyard or the Backlot. If by chance you find yourself coming out of a restaurant or attraction along the parade route at parade time you may want to just relax and enjoy the show.


Nobody does parades like Disney
Just take a look at this line up of Disney favorites.

Toy Story  This car features Buzz Lightyear and Woody riding along on Andy’s bed. Other Toy Story characters include Bo Peep, Jessie and the Green Marching Men.

Mary Poppins   A carousel of old-fashioned horses are escorted down the street by Mary Poppins, Bert and a group of dancing Penguins
 
The Muppets  Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and Sweetums ride in a balloon that floats over this car

Star Wars Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia travel aboard their space ship

Mulan Mushu and the Chinese Warriors escort this colorful car with Mulan and friends riding inside

Aladdin Aladdin and Jasmine ride atop of the Genie with Harem Girls walking along side

Hercules Thunderbolts and all follow Hercules down Hollywood Blvd.

Evil Villains  Maybe because none of the other cars would have them all of your favorite Disney villains are crammed into this float. Crulla
De Vil, Jafar, the Wicked Queen and Frollo ride atop a black stretch limo.

Atlantis Milo, Thatch and Kida will pass by you aboard this one

Mermaid Ariel and Sebastian make a rare appearance out from under the sea

Playhouse Disney  The Big Blue house is full of fun when Bear, Stanley, Treelo, and P and J otter climb aboard

Snow White & Dopey A perennial favorite and Oscar winner are celebrated in this car.
Grand Marshall Unit  Here Disney-MGM Studio guests ride like stars

Finale Unit  - This unit celebrates the glamour of tinseltown with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald and Pluto. Old favorites wrap up the parade with style as the characters sit inside a 1929 Cadillac decked out with filmstrips in classic Disney style. Other characters interacting with guests include Alice, White Rabbit, Pinocchio and Geppetto.
