  Disney Dining Plan

The Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining offers an easy and affordable way to experience a wide variety of Disney restaurants.

For each package night of a guest’s vacation they will be able to enjoy:

• 1 Table-Service meal including appetizer, entrée and non-alcoholic beverage and gratuity
• 1 Counter-Service meal including entrée and non-alcoholic beverage
• 1 Snack, such as novelty ice cream, box of popcorn, or medium soft drink at select Counter-Service and snack-cart locations

Guest can choose from over 100 participating Disney restaurants and snack locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. All cart locations selling frozen ice-cream novelties, popcorn or Coca-Cola products accept your Disney Dining Plan.

How does it work?

At check in your reservation is credited with the total number of meals and snacks for that reservation. In other words if a family of four checks in and are staying for five nights they are credited with the following:

20 counter service meals (five for each of them)
20 full service meals (five for each of them)
20 snacks (five for each of them)

The number of meals and snacks used during each dining experience is audited and subtracted from their reservation

For example:

Staying with our example family shown above if for lunch everyone enjoyed lunch at one of Disney’s participating counter service restaurants their reservation will be charged four counter service meals which means the a balance of 16 counter service meals is available to them.

During their day at, let’s say the Magic Kingdom our example family stopped for two bottles of water, one coke and a Mickey ice cream bar at one of the food carts in the park their reservation will be charged four snacks which means a balance of 16 snacks available to them.

And finally if everyone enjoyed a dinner at Chef Mickey’s (a full service character dining restaurant) their reservation will be charged four full service meals which means the balance of full service meals available to them would be 16.

Now as was previously mentioned all meals and snacks are credited at check in to a single reservation and this means you have the flexibility to use them in any order or sequence. Again staying with our family of four this means that if someone grabbed two bottles of water and another person stopped for an ice cream bar during their visit to the Magic Kingdom the single account would have reflected those purchases and their remaining balance would have reflected those debits and their remaining balance of snacks would be 17.

Continuing that thought perhaps only two of the four were hungry at lunch and only two counter service meals were ordered their reservation would have showed a remaining balance of 18 counter service meals available to them.

After each dining experience the guest is given a receipt which will show them their current balance.

So What Are The Rules?

The rules or conditions are really quite simple.

• Everyone registered on the reservation must participate
• Everyone registered on the reservation must participate for the total numbers nights of the reservation
• Must be a Magic Your Way Package reservation
• Children ages 3-9 must choose from a children’s menu if available
• Children under three years of age may share from an adults plate
• Some premier dining locations and some dinner shows may require more than one credit

In our next issue we will explore some of the dining choices you can enjoy, along with our recommendations for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
