Resort
Have Some Fun
Disney-MGM Studios
Debuting
on May 1, 1989 with with five attractions and one exhibit scattered
around approximately 135 acres this park's theme was Hollywood
classic movies and popular TV entertainment.
Entertainment giant Bob Hope was on hand to cut the ceremonial
ribbon, and the then head of Disney Michael Eisner proudly read the
dedication plaque, which reads:
"The world you have entered was created by the Walt Disney Company &
is dedicated to Hollywood - not a place on a map, but a state of
mind that exists wherever people dream & wonder & imagine a place
where illusion & reality are fused by technological magic. We
welcome you to a Hollywood that never was - and always will be."
With nearly a dozen and a half attractions and live shows guests
will find more to do and see than ever before.

The “Child Swap”
If there are some in your party who does not quite measure up or who
simply don’t want to venture on a certain attraction, while there
are others who could not dream of missing the experience what do you
do? You may want to consider a procedure known as a "child swap"
option.
This procedure with allow those in a party who can't ride a
particular attraction due to height restrictions or other reasons
not to hold back those that want to. In order for this procedure to
work there will need to be two adults in the party. This procedure
has varied from time to time and from attraction to attraction over
the years, but here is what you can expect.
As you approach the attraction in question consult with the cast
member who is acting as the “greeter” and inform them that you wish
to perform the “child swap”. The procedure will involve one adult
waiting with those that will not be enjoying the attraction, usually
at the loading area, while those willing and able enjoy the ride. At
the conclusion of the first groups experience the second adult will
be allowed to ride without waiting through the line again. A member
of the first group can join the second adult in order that they
don’t have to experience the ride alone. |
