- Cachoeira and Sao Felix (1 day)
This small city, which is part of the Baroque anthology of the country,
is the birthplace of Brazil and has kept its roads and houses from the
17th century. On the edge of the Rio Paraguaçu and at the foot of the
hills Visit the Danneman cigar factory. The richest region of the state
known as Recôncavo Baiano because of the new Brazilian petrol route.
- Dos Frades Islands (1/2 day)
Excursion recommended by our Discovery excursions office. One of the
largest islands in the Bay of All The Saints with beaches and pristine
waters and a fishing village with local crafts. Open-bar and fruit
included. A pleasant morning with snorkeling. For your information

- Itaparica city tour (1/2 day)
Visit the ruins of the third city to be built in Brazil, dating from the
16th century. You will see the Fountain of Youth, the São Lourenço fort
and the historic centre of Iaparica. For your information

- Morro de São Paulo (1 day)
Excursion recommended by our Discovery excursions office. The bulk of a
fortress built in 1830 welcomes the traveler landing at Morro de São
Paulo. Walk on the beach; sandy coves glittering in the sun and
overlooked by majestic forests crowned with palm trees, deserted beaches
with natural swimming pools or sand banks emerging over the surface at
low tide. Lunch at the restaurant Pimenta Rosa. For your information

- Rafting (1 day)
Excursion recommended by our Discovery excursions office. When you reach
the site of Nilo Peçanha, your monitors will hand you a list of
instructions to be followed for this grade 3 & 4 rafting expedition
lasting around an hour and three-quarters. You will go down the river
Das Almas and discover the lush vegetation of the Atlantic forest. On
the program: visit, swimming and lunch on a farm near the Itubera
waterfalls. For your information

- Salvador flash (1/2 day)
Free time in Pélourinho and in the arts and crafts market. Non-guided
visit. For your information

- Salvador folk ballet (evening)
An unforgettable dinner: taste the mixture of African, French and
Brazilian flavours and enjoy the wonderful spectacle of the Bahia folk
ballet. Capoeira, Samba, Maculele, for an evening of fun, rhythm and

- Salvadore city tour 1 day)
Excursion recommended by our Discovery excursions office. A guided tour
of the great city of Salvador, bursting with history, beliefs and
melting-pot cultures. Visits to the churches of Bonfim and Saint Francis
of Assises; Fort Mont Serrat ; the Barra lighthouse and the famous
beach. Lunch at a churrascaria. Afternoon, discover the old district of
Pelourinho, both colourful and colonial. For your information

- Travel time: 75 min.
- Valença and the Dende coast (1
day) Four centuries old, Valença is located between the river
and the sea, the main economic and agricultural centre of the Cote du
Dendê. Visit to a palm oil factory, guided tour of the town and the
market. Typical lunch and visit to a cocoa bean and clove farm.
