Costa Magica
Sailing Dates:
Costa Magica is one of the two sister ships
ordered by Costa Crociere from Fincantieri Cantieri Navali Spa, with an
investment of more than 1 billion euros. The Costa Magica's sister ship is
the Costa Fortuna, the fleet's current flagship and the largest Italian
passenger vessel, which entered service in November 2003.
The Costa Magica can host up to 3,470 guests. Most of the 1,358 cabins - 857
(63%) - are external; of these, 522 (60%) have a private balcony overlooking
the sea, and more than 300 have a window. Some of the most particular
features of the new ship are the no less than 58 spacious and elegant
suites, all with a Jacuzzi, available in three different formats.
Dedicated to the magical places in our country, the Costa Magica is
conceived as a kind of fantastic trip through the most beautiful and
well-known areas of Italy: from the Emerald Coast to Ostia Antica; from
Positano to Portofino; from Capri to Grado; and then Bellagio, Salento,
Maratea, Capo Colonna, Palinuro, Sicily, Spoleto, Urbino, Vicenza,
Bressanone, and so on. Each of these marvelous Italian sites is the source
of inspiration for defining the styles and colors of each public ambience on
the ship. The interiors of the Costa Magica were designed by the American
architect Joe Farcus, who designed the Costa Atlantica, the sister ship of
the Costa Mediterranea and the new Costa Fortuna. Instead, Italian
architects are involved in fitting out the interiors along with many of the
artists whose works will enhance the ship's decor.
Activities
The Costa Magica is a spectacular and surprising ship, and especially its
large and spacious outdoor decks: the main swimming pool deck, shaped like
an amphitheatre, is very sunny and nicely sheltered, while the stern
swimming pool can be used under all weather conditions thanks to its mobile
transparent roof.
The greatest thing about a cruise is that you get to pamper youself in all
ways. Try out Costa Magica's wellness and beauty centre, 4 swimming pools,
including one for children, and 6 Jacuzzis: everything needed to enjoy all
the luxury of a dream vacation. Some of the most important areas on the
Costa Magica include the wellness center (1,500 sq. m), which is equipped
with an ultramodern gym with glass walls overlooking the sea, sauna, Turkish
bath plus numerous relaxation and wellness services.
