Disney Cruise Line
Disney has reinvented the modern day cruise
vacation. The Disney ships have to be some of the largest in the world, and
it goes without saying that they are also the nicest. Disney wanted classic
design but with the most modern features available. The paint scheme matches
Mickey Mouse colors and the ships have round portholes as the ships of the
past did, also from the past are the funnels as most ships of yesterday had
two but only one is functional the other houses a sports bar.
The ships were built in Italy using the finest materials and craftsmen
available. The subtle detail is tremendous and the décor is stunning...The
ships are called Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. The Grand lobby is the
first thing you see when you board and if you are not impressed, nothing
will impress you.
Take the all inclusive seven day cruise that takes in Key West ,Bahamas
,Cozumel Mexico and of course Disney’s private island Castaway Cay.
Animators Palate is a show as well as a good restaurant. You get some small
idea of how talented the people who design shows are just by sitting through
a meal and watching the changes in the walls and lighting. Palo is another
good restaurant with superb food, but you must make reservations well ahead
for they are booked to capacity.
There are four pools on board, one is reserved for children only one is
adults only and one is reserved for the staff. The Vista Spa and Salon is
one of the most popular attractions for adults and rivals great spas around
the world. Lounges, Bars and nightclubs abound for adult entertainment but
the ships don’t have the casinos normally found on cruise ships.
Entertainment strictly for children is plentiful and frees up the parents to
the degree they may desire. To give you an idea about the size of the ship
think three football fields end to end.
Castaway Cay is Disney’s own private island and it is first class just like
everything done by the company. They give you a memorable beach experience.
Disney literally built this island from the sand up and all amenities
including a man made reef for your snorkeling pleasure. Serenity Beach is a
mile long stretch of beach reserved for adults only.
