NEW IllumiNations Dining Package Coming to Epcot’s Rose & Crown! Walt Disney World

2019 is going to be a very big year for Walt Disney World! There are many new and exciting attractions and experiences coming to the park THIS YEAR! One of the new changes that we can look forward to seeing later this year is the brand-new Epcot night-time spectacular! I personally am so excited to see what this new show will bring to Epcot. However, the bitter-sweet part about this is that the well-loved current Epcot show, IllumiNation: Reflection of Earth will be ending later this year to make way for the new replacement show. I will be sad to see IllumiNations leave, I have many memories watching this show and singing along to it’s amazing soundtrack after a fun-filled day in Epcot!

I am definitely going to be sure to catch IllumiNations as often as I can in these next few months before it is gone. IllumiNation: Reflection of Earth will be ending its run before the end of this summer of 2019 to make way for Epcot’s new night-time spectacular. If you also want to catch IllumiNations before it leaves the park later this year then you are in luck because Disney has announced a great new dining package that will give you the chance to enjoy a great meal and take in the show from an incredible vantage point!

This new dining package is offered at The Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room located in Epcot’s United Kingdom Pavilion. The package will include a meal with seating on The Rose & Crown Pub’s patio! From the patio of this restaurant you will enjoy a fantastic view of IllumiNations! The perspective of the show that you get from this location is breathtaking! You are so close to the lagoon and can feel like you are immersed in the show! Another pro to getting this special reserved seating is not having to wait hours to get a perfect view anywhere else in the park. IllumiNations is a very popular show and crowds are sure to be even larger these next few month as it is the last few presentation of the show. Many guests will plan to get an up-close spot hours before the show begins. Due to this you may have a hard time finding an unobstructed viewing area to watch the show. You can choose to wait far in advance for that perfect fireworks spot but everyone knows your time on vacation is so valuable that’s why a package like this is a wonderful option to help you make the most of your time in the park!

This dining package includes a prix fixe menu which features Rose & Crown favorites AND unlimited alcoholic beverages (for guests 21 and over) as well as a wide selection of non-alcoholic beverages! The meal offerings for the IllumiNations Dining Package features your choice of a Scotch Egg or the United Kingdom Cheese Platter as your starter.

For your entrée, your choices include Rose & Crown’s signature Fish and Chips, Corned Beef and Cabbage, Pan-roasted Scottish Salmon, or Bangers and Mash. For dessert, you will enjoy a Pudding Platter Trio featuring Sticky Toffee Pudding, English Trifle, and Chocolate Nougat Bar.

As always Disney has thought of everyone in the party! Kids can get their own prix fixe package. This kid’s meal will offer soup or salad with their choice of Cheese and Turkey Flatbread, Turkey Meatball Pasta, Cheesy Pasta, or Fish and Chips as well as either Fruit Salad or Trifle for dessert.

Bookings will open on January 17th for reservations starting on January 18th. The price is $85 for adults and $35 for children (tax and gratuity included). I am so excited about this new offering and definitely want to check this experience out for myself! As I mentioned before this is a great way to guarantee you will get an incredible view of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth so that you can see it to its fullest before the replacement show comes later this year.

12 Must-Dos During the Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort

There’s so much to see and experience across Walt Disney World Resort during the holiday season! Here are 12 must-dos for guests:

1. See the all-new Toy Story Land Holiday Decor
This new immersive land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be decked out with festive spirit during the holidays. New decor will include an oversized cranberry-and-popcorn garland and a 10-foot-tall Hamm sugar cookie at Woody’s Lunch Box, as well as green alien ornaments near the entrance to Alien Swirling Saucers, just to name a few. Plus, guests will hear sleigh bells ringing on Slinky Dog Dash, while Alien Swirling Saucers will offer two holiday tracks with themed lighting. The characters will also show off new holiday looks for the season – Woody and Jessie will wear special holiday vests and sprigs of holly on their hats, while Buzz Lightyear will don a snazzy Santa hat.

2. Catch showings of Sunset Seasons Greetings and “Jingle Ball, Jingle BAM!”
Guests should definitely make plans to see both of the nighttime shows at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that are special to the season. “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” follows the animated elves from “Disney Prep & Landing” as they search for Santa Claus, who has gone missing. Iconic music, fireworks, special effects and state-of-the-art projections help bring this spectacular to life. And over on Sunset Boulevard, new laser effects add even more sparkle to Sunset Seasons Greetings, the towering holiday projection show on the Hollywood Tower Hotel. Throughout the night, the show features Mickey Mouse, Olaf and other beloved Disney characters sharing their favorite seasonal stories.

3. Enjoy Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Get into the festive spirit at this specially ticketed, after-hours party at Magic Kingdom Park. Indulge in complimentary sweet holiday treats, enjoy specialty entertainment such as the awe-inspiring Holiday Wishes fireworks spectacular and Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, and celebrate the spirit of the season with unforgettable experiences, including snow flurries on Main Street, U.S.A.

4. Don’t miss A Frozen Holiday Wish
Guests can get swept up in the holiday spirit when Queen Elsa transforms Cinderella Castle into the gorgeous, glistening, icy holiday centerpiece of Magic Kingdom. Featuring appearances by Anna and Elsa, along with rugged mountain man Kristoff and the lovable snowman Olaf, this merry-and-bright seasonal show culminates in Queen Elsa using her incredible powers to present a gift to everyone in the kingdom.

5. Savor new items from Epcot Holiday Kitchens
Holiday Kitchens offer delectable bites inspired by holiday traditions around the world. Every holiday season brings new tastes and treats. New this year is the L’Chaim! Kitchen featuring traditional Hebrew dishes such as pastrami on rye, chicken and matzo ball soup, egg cream and more. Feast of the Three Kings Kitchen will feature a new menu, including sofrito-marinated beef with sweet plantains and olives, as well as queso fresco-stuffed arepas topped with shrimp. Other new samplings include black forest roulade with cherry whipped cream at the Bavaria Holiday Kitchen in the Germany pavilion and hand-carved smoked ham with green beans and sweet potato casserole at the American Holiday Table in The American Adventure.

6. Be moved by a performance of the Candlelight Processional at Epcot
Delight in the story of Christmas as told by a celebrity narrator accompanied by a full choir and a 50-piece orchestra during a performance that inspires joy and holiday spirit. New narrators this year include Alfonso Ribeiro (Nov. 26-27) and “Moana” voice actress Auli’i Cravalho (Dec. 21-23). A great way to experience the show is with a Candlelight Processional Dining Package; guests can learn more and make reservations for the package at disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/epcot/candlelight-dinner-packages/.

7. Take in IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth and other international holiday entertainment
The nighttime spectacular IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth includes a special holiday finale from Nov. 18 to Dec. 30. This will be the final holiday season for this show that takes place on and around World Showcase Lagoon. The show will conclude a 20-year run at the end of summer 2019, before new thrills debut on the lagoon immediately afterward. World Showcase is also the place to discover the sights, sounds and tastes that are part of holiday celebrations from around the world.

8. Shop till you drop at Disney Springs
There is a gift idea for everyone at Disney Springs, the shopping, dining and entertainment district at Walt Disney World. Disney fans will love the Disney-themed exclusive items at stores such as the newly reimagined World of Disney and DisneyStyle, while trendsetters will appreciate the apparel and accessories at stores such as Coach, Anthropologie, Pandora, Sephora and others. And kids will love gifts from stores like Once Upon a Toy and The LEGO Store.

9. Stroll the Christmas Tree Trail
Also at Disney Springs, guests will enjoy a walk-through wonderland filled with Christmas trees decorated with Disney imagery and characters. This year’s trail features 27 unique holiday trees with new additions inspired by Toy Story, The Haunted Mansion and Star Wars. Guests can even meet Santa at his chalet inside the trail.

10. Discover Diwali during UP! A Great Bird Adventure
This all-new show takes guests on a journey to discover some of the world’s exotic birds along with fun-loving Russell and his furry friend Dug from Disney•Pixar’s hit film “Up.” During the holiday season, a special version of the show will introduce guests to discover the story of Diwali, the holiday festival of lights in India.

11. Find gingerbread houses, Christmas trees and additional offerings at Disney resort hotels
The holiday fun continues when guests leave the parks. All Walt Disney World resort hotels are elaborately decorated, and many offer special entertainment and dining during the season. Guests can marvel at intricate, life-size gingerbread houses at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and be awed by the massive Christmas trees in the lobbies of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

12. Capture picture-perfect memories with Disney PhotoPass
The holiday season is the perfect time to pose for photos around Walt Disney World. Disney PhotoPass locations will be available in front of the iconic trees in all four theme parks and at festively decorated areas – the perfect shot for a greeting card or to help guests remember an incredible trip.

How I celebrated New Year’s Eve at Walt Disney World! Fireworks Boat Cruise from Disney’s Grand Floridian!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas filled with peace and joy! Even though Christmas is over for the year that doesn’t mean the holiday festivities are slowing down anytime soon! Now we are counting down to New Year’s! Last year I spent New Year’s Eve at the Walt Disney World Resort and the experience became my favorite New Years to date! There are many wonderful ways to ring in the New Year at Disney! I wanted to share with you my evening last year and what my experience was like!

I enjoyed a fireworks boat cruise that set out from Disney’s Grand Floridian resort and Spa. We got to dock in the middle of Seven Seas lagoon and have one of the best spots in the house for the Magic Kingdom fireworks!

We arrived to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort early for our dinner reservation at Grand Floridian Café. It was my very first time dining at the restaurant and now this dining location is on the top of my list for my favorite restaurants at Walt Disney World! A great meal is always a must for any New Year’s Eve celebration!

Then we made our way to the Grand Floridian’s marina. Included in the fireworks boat cruise for the New Year’s celebration was a private dessert party only for those groups taking fireworks cruises that evening! They had a roped off section just out front of the marina near Gasparilla Island Grill. They had such a nice spread for us of delicious desserts, soft drinks, coffee and alcoholic drinks for those in the party over 21. Disney also provided all of us with festive gear including noise makers, party hats and more!

After a wonderful dessert party, it was soon time for the fun to begin! We meet our very own boat captain who escorted out party to our private pontoon boat. We set out for a tour around all of Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. The voyage was very relaxing and beautiful. Our captain was very knowledgeable and told Disney history and facts about the property throughout our voyage.

As midnight approached we then got our spot and docked on the middle of Seven Seas Lagoon to enjoy a wonderful viewing of the New Year’s Eve fireworks from the Magic Kingdom! My favorite part is the grand finale where the Disney characters countdown from 10 until we reach the stroke of midnight! Fireworks in the shapes of numbers 10 through 1 explode in the sky! It is truly incredible! Once the new year is here the night sky is illuminated with tons of fireworks from every direction! It will take your breath away. Your boat captain will then provide a champagne toast for all those in the party old enough to enjoy it.

I had the most incredible time ringing in the New Year at Walt Disney World. I vlogged my entire experience from the evening. You can watch it on our YouTube channel:

5 Ways to Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Walt Disney World!

Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise Returns

New Year’s Eve is one of the most exciting nights of the year! It is a time when we gather with friends and loved ones to be together and join in the countdown as we anticipate the new year and new opportunities ahead of us! It is a time of great excitement and many people love to look for festivities and events to make their celebrations truly memorable! Spending your New Year’s Eve at the Walt Disney World Resort is a great way to kick of the brand-new year! Let’s just say, Disney knows how to create magical celebrations!

I was at Walt Disney World last year during New Years and it was the best New Year’s Eve I had ever experienced! Across all of Disney World property there was an energy and excitement that filled the air! Other guests all talked about the plans they had for the big night! Throughout the Disney parks and resorts there are some different entertainment and event offerings that guests can experience! There is a wide variety of locations to choose from when it comes to planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Most Magical Place on Earth! You will find everything from offerings with a party atmosphere to celebrations that are more intimate and relaxing! Here is my list of 5 ideas for ways to ring in the New Year at Walt Disney World!

Magic Kingdom Fireworks

Probably one of the most iconic festivities taking place at Walt Disney World on New Year’s Eve is the Magic Kingdom New Year’s fireworks show! This specialty fireworks display begins about 10 minutes before midnight. The presentation is dazzling and truly lights up the night sky. The presentation featured 360 degrees of fireworks that will surround all of the Magic Kingdom park! The finale of the show is the countdown to midnight! The voices of Mickey and the gang countdown from 10 until we reach the stroke of midnight. During the countdown, the fireworks in the shapes of the numbers 10 – 1 are casted into the air! You have to see it to believe it! To top it all off the voices of your favorite Disney characters sing the classic New Year’s anthem, auld lang syne as fireworks fill every inch of the sky!

Fireworks Boat Cruise

My next idea to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Walt Disney World is how I celebrated last year, a fireworks boat cruise to view the Magic Kingdom specialty fireworks! This is a wonderful option. The cruises dock on Seven Seas Lagoon, the body of water out front of the Magic Kingdom park. The cruise itself is a very fun experience and you can get one of the best views of the fireworks show! Additionally, you won’t have to deal with the stress and congestion of actually being inside Magic Kingdom for the show. This is a popular event and the park typically reaches capacity on this night. Getting to take in the show from the comfort of your very own pontoon boat that leaves from the marinas of one of the Magic Kingdom resorts is a very enjoyable option! Included in your cruise is a selection of snacks and soft drinks. Also included for those 21 and over is a champagne toast at midnight!

Fireworks Viewing from the Magic Kingdom Resort Beaches

Another great option if you want to catch the incredible Magic Kingdom fireworks but don’t want to deal with the crowds in the parks is to watch the fireworks from one of the beaches at either Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort or Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. My recommendation for the evening would be to make a dinner a reservation at the resort you are planning to watch the fireworks from. Both the Polynesian and Grand Floridian are home to many amazing dining locations! Watching the fireworks from the resort beaches while not nearly as crowded as the inside of Magic Kingdom can still become a popular spot so be sure to grab a spot early and then just kick back and enjoy the amazing atmosphere of the resort as you wait for the show!

Epcot

If you are looking for an exciting party spot then look no further then Epcot! The park is filled with DJs and dance parties everywhere you turn. Many of the pavilions in World Showcase get into the spirit with exciting offerings and celebrations that represent each country’s culture! This park is also home to a spectacular New Year’s firework show to ring in the big moment! If you are looking for a more intimate setting to view this show there are also Epcot fireworks cruises available for bookings. These leave from the Epcot resort hotels.

Fine Dining

What better way to ring in the start of a new year then with a great meal with family and friends! Disney World has so many wonderful restaurants to fit whatever you and your party are looking for! From an elegant signature restaurant to a fun character dinner there is something for everyone. During New Year’s Eve some restaurants actually have special meal and dining options created just for the memorable evening!

However your choose to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Walt Disney World you are sure to enjoy a New Years that you will remember for a lifetime. Contact your Kingdom Magic Vacations travel planner today to plan the adventure that you and your family will take in 2019! Happy New Year!

Top 5 Favorite Christmas Decorations at Walt Disney World!

Christmas is just around the corner! I can’t believe how fast this season has flown by! I am feeling so fortunate to have experienced the magic of the holidays at the most magical place on Earth this year, Walt Disney World! During my visit to Disney last month I made sure to check out all of my favorite Christmas displays and festivities across Disney property! What I love about the holidays in Walt Disney world is that there is SO MUCH to discover! Every inch of the park is decked out and in such a unique and creative way! Disney doesn’t just put up a generic tree and garland in a gift shop. Oh no! Quite the contrary they theme every decoration specifically to the restaurant, shop or resort that it is in! For example, the ice cream shop on Main Street has garland and trees featuring ice cream cone ornaments! Over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa all their decorations have a Victorian style to them to perfectly compliment the theme of resort itself!

9 Must-Do’s For Fall Visits to Walt Disney World Resort

There truly is so much to see when it comes to the decorations around Walt Disney World! I recommend truly taking your time going through the parks this time of year. Be sure to stop and truly appreciate the details of the holiday decorations. There is so much to discover! Today I would like to share with you my top 5 favorite Disney World Christmas displays that are more hidden gem displays! I am leaving out the well-known park icon trees and big centerpiece decorations and going to countdown my favorite decorations that are a bit more obscure! These displays both big and small are something that I look forward to seeing year after year!

#5 Mickey Wreaths

Christmas wreaths in the shape of Mickey Mouse adorned every lamppost down main Street USA! This decoration is a Disney classic! I love it for its simplicity. It is very traditional and from a distance you may not even notice it is a Mickey, but as you begin to stroll down Main Street towards the castle you can’t miss this little touch of magic!

#4 Poinsettia Trees

I have always loved poinsettias! I think they are so beautiful and I always know the Christmas season has begun once I start seeing those festive flowers! Disney uses gorgeous poinsettias in many of their holiday displays. By far my favorite creation Disney produces using poinsettias is their poinsettia trees! Using a towering framework in a rounded tree shape Disney florists will cover every inch of the framework with poinsettias! These poinsettia trees are spectacular and make an amazing backdrop for a family Christmas photo! Poinsettia trees can be seen in multiple places across Walt Disney World property! There are always some lining the walkway between Future World and World Showcase in Epcot as well as poinsettia trees in the entrance hub of Magic Kingdom. Pictured here you will see a poinsettia tree on the grounds of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

#3 Rockette-Style Christmas Ornaments

A display that I get so excited to see every year can be found in a storefront in Hollywood Studios! Disney is known for creating incredible window displays in many of their shopfronts and this particular display at Hollywood Studios can’t be missed! Larger than life Minnie Mouse Christmas ornaments are forming a Rockette kick-line! This display is so adorable and fun! It definitely fits into the glitz and glamour of Hollywood Studios!

#2 Echo Lake Decorations

A few years ago, Hollywood Studios icon tree moved from out-front of the park to inside the park to the center of Echo Lake. I know I said in this countdown, main centerpieces such as icon trees don’t count and that is still true. The decorations I am referring to in echo lake are the smaller accent pieces that compliment the area around the icon tree’s new location! The park’s tree sits on an island in the middle of the lake. In the water surrounding the island you will find one of my favorite Christmas decorations across all of Walt Disney World… floating Christmas ornaments! These floating baubles are beautiful all day long but at night they become a real showstopper and actually light up! These lighted baubles illuminate the water around them and create such a cool effect! I think this was the area of the park I spent the most time in just admiring the decorations and taking tons of photos!

#1 Grand Floridian Gingerbread House

My top spot on my list goes to a hidden gem that I enjoy seeing year after year, the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House!  This is not your normal gingerbread house! This pastry masterpiece is life-size! The inside of the gingerbread house is an actual working store where you can purchase gingerbread treats and other festive snacks and goodies! This year the Grand Floridian Gingerbread house is celebrating its 20th annual year! I highly recommend making the trip over to Disney’s Grand Floridian resort and spa to see this one of a kind creation. From the Magic Kingdom park you can easily commute to Disney’s Grand Floridian via a boat or monorail! Definitely make sure to take the time to check it out! You will be glad you did!

2019 Epcot International Festival of the Arts! Walt Disney World

Get ready to kick off the new year with the first Epcot festival of 2019, the Epcot International Festival of the Arts! The return of this Epcot festival will run for 39 days this year, from January 18 to February 25, 2019! This festival celebrates art in all forms from visual arts, to culinary arts and even performing arts! Like with all the Epcot festivals this event is a truly international affair! Guests will be able to enjoy art from around the world, and take in pieces, cuisines and performances from all cultures! The Epcot International Festival of the Arts offers creative activities for the entire family, from specialty entertainment offerings and interactive seminars to immersive art experiences and world-class food and beverage offerings.

We have exciting news for theatre lovers, new in 2019, festival visitors can now enjoy the very popular Disney on Broadway Concert Series seven days a week! In previous years, these concerts were only offered over the weekend. Now guests can enjoy daily showings at 5:30, 6:45 and 8 p.m. every day! This concert series is a must-see experience! Stars from Disney Broadway shows perform for guests at the America Gardens Theater in World Showcase!

Each week you can see different pairs of Disney on Broadway stars as they sing your favorite songs from award-winning Disney on Broadway productions. The lineup rotates regularly, featuring music from shows such as “The Lion King,” “Frozen” and “Beauty and the Beast.” The lineup features:

  • Kerry Butler (“Beauty and the Beast”) and Kevin Massey (“Tarzan”)
  • Meredith Inglesby (“The Little Mermaid”) and Steve Blanchard (“Beauty and the Beast”)
  • Arielle Jacobs and Adam Jacobs (“Aladdin”)
  • Heidi Blickenstaff (“Freaky Friday”) and Gavin Lee (“Mary Poppins”)
  • Ashley Brown (“Mary Poppins”) and Josh Strickland (“Tarzan”)
  • Kissy Simmons and Alton Fitzgerald White (“The Lion King”)

This incredible concert series is included with park admission! We recommend arriving early to guarantee a seat as these shows are very popular. If you want to skip the long wait then be sure to book a Disney on Broadway Concert Series Dining Package! This package gives you access to reserved seating. The Dining Package allows you to make a breakfast, lunch or dinner reservation at a participating Epcot restaurant and later enjoy priority seating at a show!

I have done one of these Epcot Dining Package during the Candlelight Processional that takes place during the International Festival of the Holidays! I highly recommend the dining package! When planning your day in the parks you are probably planning on enjoying at least one table service meal anyway so you might as well book this dining package. It is an incredible value and allows you to enjoy more time experiencing the park and the festival rather than waiting hours in line for a guaranteed seat.

We have discussed preforming arts, now let’s talk about the culinary art! The Epcot International Festival of the Arts will be home to 13 Food Studios this year! In addition, there will also be more creative and savory offerings around Epcot with an expanded menu of tastes and sips! Stop by The Artist’s Table for beef wellington with mushroom bordelaise, fennel cream and roasted baby vegetables, or enjoy smoked salmon and cream gâteau with egg yolk cream, paddlefish caviar and micro-herbs at The Painter’s Palate. Pop Eats! will serve up almond frangipane cake with raspberry and chocolate, while red wine-braised short rib with parsnip purée, broccolini, baby tomatoes and aged balsamic will be available at Cuisine Classique.

The list of culinary creations goes on and on! There is something for everyone! All of these dishes have a creative and artful flare to them! Making these festival items true stand-outs for Epcot festival offerings!

You will also find experiences that will inspire artists of all ages! Let’s take a look at a few activity highlights:

  • All guests are invited to grab a paintbrush and participate in creating a wall mural along World Showcase Plaza.

I am so ready to attend the 2019 Epcot International Festival of the arts! I am a huge fan of the Epcot festivals that take place throughout the year in the park. The Festival of the Arts is the only festival that I have yet to see in person and that is about to change this coming year! I will be attending the Epcot International Festival of the Arts for my first time during this upcoming 2019 season! I am beyond thrilled to get to see this event for myself! When the International Festival of the Arts first made its debut in 2017, I remarked that I felt this particular festival was made for me!

I love all things art! Some of my favorite hobbies include painting and crafting. I am a foodie and enjoy cooking and baking. And I have a passion for the theatre and all things involving live entertainment! As we talked about, the Epcot International Festival of the Arts covers, visual, culinary and performing arts! So, this festival checks all the boxes of things I love! I can’t wait to attend for my first time this year and experience first-hand this wonderful art in all the mediums it is presented in!  Be sure to follow along for future blog post and videos of my time at the event!

You can experience the festival for yourself as well! Now is the perfect time to plan your 2019 Walt Disney World visit! Contact your Kingdom Magic Vacations Travel Planner today to book your next magical vacation!

2018 Jingle Cruise at Magic Kingdom! Jungle Cruise Christmas Overlay! Walt Disney World

If you have ever visited the Magic Kingdom then I’m sure you have visited the Jungle Cruise! Everyone loves this classic Disney Parks attraction! After all it is called the “World Famous Jungle Cruise” for a reason! In this original attraction guest board a boat and embark on a voyage through the jungle. The tour is being guided by your own boat skipper who tells some very cheesy jokes! It’s these goofy lines such as “If you don’t believe me you’re in de-Nile” and “The backside of water” that make the attraction so iconic and beloved by millions of park visitors!

Did you know that during the holiday season the Jungle Cruise is transformed with a fun holiday overlay?! That’s right! During the most magical time of the year, the Jungle Cruise at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World becomes the Jingle Cruise! The Jingle Cruise receives holiday decorations in both the queue line and inside the attraction itself. One of the most notable differences that makes the attraction a whole new experience is that the script also changes! Now your Jingle Cruise skipper tells jokes and punch lines themed to the holiday season!

As soon as you enter the attraction’s queue line you will find holiday decorations everywhere you turn! I love the Christmas tree made out of bamboo when you first enter the standby line! Your time waiting in line feels like it flies by because there are so many details to look at! Be sure to look around and appreciate the references and jokes in the skipper’s holiday decorations! One of my favorite details was a chalk board where the skippers wrote their New Year’s resolutions. One skipper’s resolution was to ‘achieve a 75% passenger return rate!’  Another funny holiday detail to look for is the names of each of the Jingle Cruise boats. The boats themselves get holiday overlays to their names. A few of my favorite included the Brrrrr Bertha, Mistletoe Millie, Yulelog Lolly, and the Icicle Irma!

Once onboard your festive boat you will continue to notice more holiday decorations throughout the ride such as packages floating in the water, Santa hats on the gorillas, elf hats on the monkeys and more! Your boat’s skipper will narrate your cruise with holiday themed jokes! This is my favorite part of the attraction overlay! Even if you have been on the Jungle Cruise hundreds of times, the ride will feel brand new to you with the new script and storyline that the Jingle Cruise brings!

Some of my favorite jokes include the reference of the big bugs in the rainforest scene being referred to as “bah humbugs!” I also love the group of natives getting ready to attack your boat being referred to as a group of holiday carolers! If you have been on the Jungle Cruise before then you know at the very end of the attraction you will find Trader Sam, the ‘head’ salesman of the jungle. Well during the Jingle Cruise, he is deck out in his holiday best like Santa Claus and referred to as Trader Sam-ta! He is also offering special holiday promotions but take warning they don’t sound too appealing!

2018 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival VIDEO Part 1!

The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is an event I look forward to every year at the Walt Disney World Resort! I vlogged my entire experience at this year’s festival and I am excited to share my experience with you through a new video series on our Kingdom Magic Vacations YouTube channel! Be sure to subscribe to see the rest of this food and wine series as well as many other Disney and travel related videos!

In part 1 you will see the beginning of our first day at the 2018 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival for this trip! We headed first to the Land pavilion to use our fastpass for the Living with the Land boat ride. While we were in the Land Pavilion we got to watch some of the Candy Sushi making! This is a brand new experience that is part of the festival this year! It is so cute! While riding Living with the Land we spotted some special displays in the attractions that were also part of the Food and Wine Festival! Next we tried our first market place of the Festival, Flavors from Fire! Spoiler alert! The item we tried here got a 5 out of 5 on my rating scale! Loved it! After trying our first festival item we made our way to the Festival Center!

The Festival Center serves as the hub for all things Food and Wine related! It is here that you can attend special demonstrations and cooking presentations. There is also a shop selling festival merchandise along with some other really cool walk-throughs and experiences. There are even some marketplaces inside the festival center this year such as Craft Beers and my favorite the brand new Shimmering Sips Mimosa Bar! I tried the Key Lime Mimosa! I am so excited to share my experience with you through video!

Stay tuned for part 2! The Food and Wine Festival runs through November 12th this year! To plan your next visit to the Walt Disney World Resort contact our knowledgeable team at Kingdom Magic Vacations!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Starts Sooner than Ever

Let’s boo this! There are even more nights to celebrate the spooky season this year during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This special-ticket event runs select nights Aug. 17-Oct. 31 at Magic Kingdom Park – the earliest in the calendar year it’s ever started. It’s also the 25th anniversary of Walt Disney Pictures’ “Hocus Pocus,” so what better way to celebrate the film than the spellbinding Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular at Cinderella Castle, where the Sanderson Sisters take “stage fright” to another level.

Guests should keep their eyes open for dancing ghosts, the Headless Horseman, plus Mickey Mouse, Peter Pan and many more beloved Disney Characters in the Mickey’s “Boo-To-You” Halloween Parade. There will also be plenty of sweets for all trick-or-treaters around the park, including allergy-friendly options. And each night during the party, the skies above an eerily lit Cinderella Castle come alive during Happy HalloWishes, a magical fireworks extravaganza that definitely goes bump in the night!

Advance tickets start at $75 for adults and $70 for ages 3-9 (plus tax). For a full list of event dates, visit MickeyHalloween.com. Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance, as space each night is limited. For more information, call (407) WDISNEY (934-7639).

New Toy Story Land: A Perfect Place for Fall Fun

Where better to spend a beautiful fall day than playing in Andy’s backyard, the young toy owner from Pixar Animation Studios’ Toy Storyfilms. In this extraordinary new land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests are “honorary toys” surrounded by Andy’s favorites – Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and many more.

Across 11 fun-filled acres, guests can hop on the all-new Slinky Dog Dash for a family-friendly roller coaster ride, take a spin and enjoy some interstellar beats on Alien Swirling Saucers and go for the high score playing midway games inside the 4D world of Toy Story Mania! When toys get hungry, there’s no better place to grab a bite than Woody’s Lunch Box, a walk-up window featuring a bevy of nostalgic delights – from a grilled three-cheese sandwich to a Lunch Box Tart and much more.

Toy Story Land also offers a collection of new merchandise items, allowing guests to take their special memories home with them. Among the many highlights: a Buzz Lightyear Bubble Blower and a Slinky Dog headband.

Disney Junior Dance Party Shimmies into Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Later in fall, the new Disney Junior Dance Party premieres at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This live performance will feature high-energy music, a vibrant party atmosphere, special effects and characters from popular Disney Junior TV shows. Guests are invited to join all the fun with the stars of “Mickey and the Roadster Racers,” “Doc McStuffins,” “The Lion Guard” and the newest hit series, “Vampirina.”

Two New Restaurants, Reimagined World of Disney Opening at Disney Springs

  • James Beard Award-winning Chef José Andrés – one of “The 100 Most Influential People of 2018” according to Time.com – will open a new location of his popular Jaleo this fall. It will offer an extensive menu of tapas that reflects the rich regional diversity of traditional and contemporary Spanish cuisine. Designed by renowned Spanish designer Juli Capella, the new multi-level restaurant will feature breathtaking exterior architecture and a vibrant, theatrical décor representing the colorful, dynamic culture of Spain. Andrés’ Disney Springs venue will be his largest and most ambitious location to date.
  • A new restaurant by James Beard Award-winning Chef Wolfgang Puck will also open this fall. Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill will modernize the traditional “bar and grill” concept in a setting inspired by traditional farmhouses – with a touch of elegance. The restaurant will capture the essence of laid-back California dining made popular by Puck’s Spago, his flagship restaurant in Los Angeles.
  • In late fall, Disney Springs will reveal the newly reimagined World of Disney store, where guests will discover the products they love from Disney Parks in a dynamic and distinctly Disney environment. The flagship store remains open throughout the enhancement process.
