Disney’s Grand Floridian Cafe Video! Walt Disney World Restaurant

Disney’s Grand Floridian Café is a hidden gem, located at Disney’s luxurious Grand Floridian Resort and Spa at the Walt Disney World Resort! This table service restaurant can be found just off of the resort’s main lobby. It is quite, tucked away and truly grand! The restaurant’s décor and atmosphere is themed in an elegant and Victorian style just like the rest of this beautiful resort. The menu here has something for everyone. It is classic comfort food done in a sophisticated style! My personal favorite that I get every time is The Café Sandwich. This hot sandwich is served open-faced with ham, roasted turkey, bacon and tomato. It is then topped with a creamy boursin cheese sauce and served with a side of freshly made onion rings. Other popular items here include the Lobster ‘Thermidor’ Burger, the Buttermilk-fried Chicken and Miso-glazed Salmon.

During breakfast and lunch this restaurant features the same brunch-style menu. A well-known item here is the restaurant’s benedicts! They offer eggs benedict in several variations including the Traditional Eggs Benedict, the Spicy Chorizo Benedict and the Lobster Benedict! If you can’t make up your mind you can go for the Benedict flight which has all three of these signature benedicts!

I recommend this dining location as a great place to escape Magic Kingdom mid-day to come have a wonderful meal. You can easily access the Grand Floridian from the Magic Kingdom via a boat or monorail. Your commute over to the resort from the park take only a few minutes so coming here for a meal is a great time to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the parks. You can sit down and relax at one of Disney Worlds most peaceful resorts and allow yourself to refuel and be refreshed to then head back into the parks for an awesome night!

5 Ways to Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Walt Disney World!

Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise Returns

New Year’s Eve is one of the most exciting nights of the year! It is a time when we gather with friends and loved ones to be together and join in the countdown as we anticipate the new year and new opportunities ahead of us! It is a time of great excitement and many people love to look for festivities and events to make their celebrations truly memorable! Spending your New Year’s Eve at the Walt Disney World Resort is a great way to kick of the brand-new year! Let’s just say, Disney knows how to create magical celebrations!

I was at Walt Disney World last year during New Years and it was the best New Year’s Eve I had ever experienced! Across all of Disney World property there was an energy and excitement that filled the air! Other guests all talked about the plans they had for the big night! Throughout the Disney parks and resorts there are some different entertainment and event offerings that guests can experience! There is a wide variety of locations to choose from when it comes to planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Most Magical Place on Earth! You will find everything from offerings with a party atmosphere to celebrations that are more intimate and relaxing! Here is my list of 5 ideas for ways to ring in the New Year at Walt Disney World!

Magic Kingdom Fireworks

Probably one of the most iconic festivities taking place at Walt Disney World on New Year’s Eve is the Magic Kingdom New Year’s fireworks show! This specialty fireworks display begins about 10 minutes before midnight. The presentation is dazzling and truly lights up the night sky. The presentation featured 360 degrees of fireworks that will surround all of the Magic Kingdom park! The finale of the show is the countdown to midnight! The voices of Mickey and the gang countdown from 10 until we reach the stroke of midnight. During the countdown, the fireworks in the shapes of the numbers 10 – 1 are casted into the air! You have to see it to believe it! To top it all off the voices of your favorite Disney characters sing the classic New Year’s anthem, auld lang syne as fireworks fill every inch of the sky!

Fireworks Boat Cruise

My next idea to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Walt Disney World is how I celebrated last year, a fireworks boat cruise to view the Magic Kingdom specialty fireworks! This is a wonderful option. The cruises dock on Seven Seas Lagoon, the body of water out front of the Magic Kingdom park. The cruise itself is a very fun experience and you can get one of the best views of the fireworks show! Additionally, you won’t have to deal with the stress and congestion of actually being inside Magic Kingdom for the show. This is a popular event and the park typically reaches capacity on this night. Getting to take in the show from the comfort of your very own pontoon boat that leaves from the marinas of one of the Magic Kingdom resorts is a very enjoyable option! Included in your cruise is a selection of snacks and soft drinks. Also included for those 21 and over is a champagne toast at midnight!

Fireworks Viewing from the Magic Kingdom Resort Beaches

Another great option if you want to catch the incredible Magic Kingdom fireworks but don’t want to deal with the crowds in the parks is to watch the fireworks from one of the beaches at either Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort or Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. My recommendation for the evening would be to make a dinner a reservation at the resort you are planning to watch the fireworks from. Both the Polynesian and Grand Floridian are home to many amazing dining locations! Watching the fireworks from the resort beaches while not nearly as crowded as the inside of Magic Kingdom can still become a popular spot so be sure to grab a spot early and then just kick back and enjoy the amazing atmosphere of the resort as you wait for the show!

Epcot

If you are looking for an exciting party spot then look no further then Epcot! The park is filled with DJs and dance parties everywhere you turn. Many of the pavilions in World Showcase get into the spirit with exciting offerings and celebrations that represent each country’s culture! This park is also home to a spectacular New Year’s firework show to ring in the big moment! If you are looking for a more intimate setting to view this show there are also Epcot fireworks cruises available for bookings. These leave from the Epcot resort hotels.

Fine Dining

What better way to ring in the start of a new year then with a great meal with family and friends! Disney World has so many wonderful restaurants to fit whatever you and your party are looking for! From an elegant signature restaurant to a fun character dinner there is something for everyone. During New Year’s Eve some restaurants actually have special meal and dining options created just for the memorable evening!

However your choose to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Walt Disney World you are sure to enjoy a New Years that you will remember for a lifetime. Contact your Kingdom Magic Vacations travel planner today to plan the adventure that you and your family will take in 2019! Happy New Year!

Top 5 Favorite Christmas Decorations at Walt Disney World!

Christmas is just around the corner! I can’t believe how fast this season has flown by! I am feeling so fortunate to have experienced the magic of the holidays at the most magical place on Earth this year, Walt Disney World! During my visit to Disney last month I made sure to check out all of my favorite Christmas displays and festivities across Disney property! What I love about the holidays in Walt Disney world is that there is SO MUCH to discover! Every inch of the park is decked out and in such a unique and creative way! Disney doesn’t just put up a generic tree and garland in a gift shop. Oh no! Quite the contrary they theme every decoration specifically to the restaurant, shop or resort that it is in! For example, the ice cream shop on Main Street has garland and trees featuring ice cream cone ornaments! Over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa all their decorations have a Victorian style to them to perfectly compliment the theme of resort itself!

9 Must-Do’s For Fall Visits to Walt Disney World Resort

There truly is so much to see when it comes to the decorations around Walt Disney World! I recommend truly taking your time going through the parks this time of year. Be sure to stop and truly appreciate the details of the holiday decorations. There is so much to discover! Today I would like to share with you my top 5 favorite Disney World Christmas displays that are more hidden gem displays! I am leaving out the well-known park icon trees and big centerpiece decorations and going to countdown my favorite decorations that are a bit more obscure! These displays both big and small are something that I look forward to seeing year after year!

#5 Mickey Wreaths

Christmas wreaths in the shape of Mickey Mouse adorned every lamppost down main Street USA! This decoration is a Disney classic! I love it for its simplicity. It is very traditional and from a distance you may not even notice it is a Mickey, but as you begin to stroll down Main Street towards the castle you can’t miss this little touch of magic!

#4 Poinsettia Trees

I have always loved poinsettias! I think they are so beautiful and I always know the Christmas season has begun once I start seeing those festive flowers! Disney uses gorgeous poinsettias in many of their holiday displays. By far my favorite creation Disney produces using poinsettias is their poinsettia trees! Using a towering framework in a rounded tree shape Disney florists will cover every inch of the framework with poinsettias! These poinsettia trees are spectacular and make an amazing backdrop for a family Christmas photo! Poinsettia trees can be seen in multiple places across Walt Disney World property! There are always some lining the walkway between Future World and World Showcase in Epcot as well as poinsettia trees in the entrance hub of Magic Kingdom. Pictured here you will see a poinsettia tree on the grounds of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

#3 Rockette-Style Christmas Ornaments

A display that I get so excited to see every year can be found in a storefront in Hollywood Studios! Disney is known for creating incredible window displays in many of their shopfronts and this particular display at Hollywood Studios can’t be missed! Larger than life Minnie Mouse Christmas ornaments are forming a Rockette kick-line! This display is so adorable and fun! It definitely fits into the glitz and glamour of Hollywood Studios!

#2 Echo Lake Decorations

A few years ago, Hollywood Studios icon tree moved from out-front of the park to inside the park to the center of Echo Lake. I know I said in this countdown, main centerpieces such as icon trees don’t count and that is still true. The decorations I am referring to in echo lake are the smaller accent pieces that compliment the area around the icon tree’s new location! The park’s tree sits on an island in the middle of the lake. In the water surrounding the island you will find one of my favorite Christmas decorations across all of Walt Disney World… floating Christmas ornaments! These floating baubles are beautiful all day long but at night they become a real showstopper and actually light up! These lighted baubles illuminate the water around them and create such a cool effect! I think this was the area of the park I spent the most time in just admiring the decorations and taking tons of photos!

#1 Grand Floridian Gingerbread House

My top spot on my list goes to a hidden gem that I enjoy seeing year after year, the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House!  This is not your normal gingerbread house! This pastry masterpiece is life-size! The inside of the gingerbread house is an actual working store where you can purchase gingerbread treats and other festive snacks and goodies! This year the Grand Floridian Gingerbread house is celebrating its 20th annual year! I highly recommend making the trip over to Disney’s Grand Floridian resort and spa to see this one of a kind creation. From the Magic Kingdom park you can easily commute to Disney’s Grand Floridian via a boat or monorail! Definitely make sure to take the time to check it out! You will be glad you did!

Grand Floridian Gingerbread House 20th Year Dedication – Disney World Christmas 2018

Disney World flagship resort, the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is home to one very special holiday tradition! The Grand Floridian Gingerbread house has been an annual Christmas tradition at the resort. Guests come back year after year to marvel at the life-sized gingerbread house that sits in the resort’s grand lobby! This year the Gingerbread house celebrated an exciting milestone! 2018 marks the 20th anniversary for the house at the Grand Floridian!

I personally always make a special trip over to the Grand Floridian when I visit Disney World during the Christmas season just to see the house! This year my family and I happened to be visiting the resort during a very special time, we got to see the dedication ceremony of the house! The ceremony was very special, all of the chefs who helped bring this massive and beautiful creation were all in attendance along with the resort managers and cast members. A cast member sang “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” and everyone watching joined in! The moment was filled with so much cheer. As a big fan of the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House it was incredible to be here for this special occasion. You could feel in the air the passion that all the chefs and cast members have for this Grand Floridian tradition, as well as how beloved the tradition is for all the guests who were in attendance.

To top the celebration off, Mickey and Minnie arrived wearing their holiday best and one lucky family joined them to help cut the ribbon and officially open the Gingerbread House for the 2018 season! The inside of the gingerbread house actually serves as a retail location where guests can purchase gingerbread and seasonal treats! The most popular item sold here would have to be the gingerbread shingles. They are identical to the shingles that are on the gingerbread house!

This year they have moved the gingerbread house to the center of the lobby just beneath the orchestra. In years past the gingerbread house’s location was always off center in the corner of the lobby. I love the new location! It definitely makes the house a main focal point of the grand lobby, a position that this piece of art truly deserves! Also, the new location has helped free up space around the house this year making it easier to view the house and give the line to purchase your holiday treats a much nicer flow! This open space around the house now includes a pathway lined with poinsettias!

I felt so honored to be in attendance for the opening of this year’s Grand Floridian gingerbread house and so happy to get to celebrate the 20th year for this special tradition! I filmed the entire ceremony and I am excited to share the festivities with you in our new YouTube video!

The Grand Floridian Gingerbread House is one of the many holidays attractions and experiences that you can enjoy at the Walt Disney World Resort during the holiday season! There is truly extra magic in the air throughout the Disney parks and resorts at Christmas time! There is still time to plan a holiday vacation to the Happiest Place on Earth! Staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa! Walt Disney World Resort

Last month I got to have a brand-new Disney experience that I had dreamed about for years! I stayed at Disney’s flagship resort the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa! I have always been infatuated with the Grand Floridian and have enjoyed visiting the resort for years to simply walk the grounds or dine at one of their many wonderful restaurants. Even prior to actually getting to stay here myself, I would already say that the Grand Floridian was my favorite Disney Resort just because I enjoyed being there so much when visiting. So the dream of being able to actually stay here as a resort guest had been on my Disney list forever! Well my dream came true last month when I checked into Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa for my very first time!

I knew that our stay was going to be incredible, but this resort stay exceed my expectations! There truly is magic in the air at the Grand Floridian! The overall feeling of relaxation and luxury that comes over you while there is a feeling like no other! I thought I knew the Grand Floridian so well from years of always just popping over for a walk around, but staying here I discovered so many little nuances that made the experience brand new to me! I had so many stand out moments and favorite things from my time at the Grand Floridian. Things that set this deluxe resort apart from the rest and make staying here a truly magical experience. The amenities and accommodations allow you to make the most out of your vacation! Here is my list of favorite things from my stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa!

Location, Location, Location!

The Grand Floridian is located on the monorail loop in the Magic Kingdom Resort area! You are literally footsteps away from the Magic Kingdom Park. From the hotel, you can see Cinderella’s Castle as well as many other icons from the Magic Kingdom skyline. Talk about a great place to watch the fireworks! You are so close you can even hear the sounds coming from the Magic Kingdom! Every once and a while from our room we could hear the gentle whistle of the Walt Disney World Railroad train! It is all these details of the Magic Kingdom that make you feel like you are still inside the magic of the park even when you have left for the day! This for me was everything!

The Views!

Wherever your room is located you are sure to have one priceless view! Rooms at the Grand Floridian overlook the Magic Kingdom Park, Seven Seas Lagoon, the gorgeous resort pools or the peaceful resort gardens. All of the rooms have balconies allowing you to soak in your breathtaking view. I absolutely loved the view from our room’s balcony! We had a lagoon view that looked out over seven seas lagoon. We could see the ferry boats coming and going from the transportation and ticket center and watch the monorails go around and around! I spent so much time out there taking it all in that I actually learned the monorail schedule! I could tell you exactly what colored monorail would appear where and when! I was one proud Disney fan! Our room also had a great view of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and a beautiful direct view of Disney’s Wedding Pavilion! There was always some exciting action to watch! Once again even though you are back in your room you still are right in the middle of the Disney magic! There is no better feeling!

Proximity to Magic Kingdom

Staying at the Grand Floridian you are a stones-throw from the Magic Kingdom Park, you might as well say you and Cinderella are next-door neighbors. Not only is this awesome for the spectacular views but your commute to the Magic Kingdom park takes mere minutes! You can step aboard a monorail right from the 2nd floor of the Grand Floridian lobby or cruise right over to the park by boat! Until staying here myself I had no idea just how wonderful this convenience was! All other hotel guests not in the Magic Kingdom Resort area have to use bus transportation to get to Magic Kingdom or if traveling by car have to park at the ticket and transportation center and then take the monorail or ferry boat from that point. Due to this Magic Kingdom has always been a park that you need to allow yourself time to get to. Staying at the Grand Floridian the park is literally in your backyard, making the commute so easy! We got to Magic Kingdom the earliest I had ever been to the park. We just woke up and were there in minutes! Being able to so easily get to the park earlier, we were able to maximize our time and make the most out of our day! I had never seen the park so empty! Early morning is the best time to be in Magic Kingdom to beat the crowds. Due to the lower crowd level we were able to walk right on to many popular attractions!

Taking Breaks Mid-Day

With being so close to the park you are also able to get back to the Grand Floridian very quickly! This is wonderful when you are tired after an action-packed day of fun in the park! It is also wonderful when you may want to take a break mid-day and go back to the resort to rest and enjoy the amenities such as the amazing pools. Since other resorts are farther away and most require bus transportation, it can eat up a lot more of your time if you wanted to go back to your resort mid-day. The convenience of close proximity to the park that the Grand Floridian gives you can add a whole other layer to your vacation.

The Pools

Speaking of relaxing by the pool, one of my favorite amenities at the Grand was getting to take advantage of their luxurious pools! There is a large pool called the Beach Pool, complete with a water fall and even a water slide. Next to this main pool you will find a fun splash play area for kids themed to the Mad Hatter. Then there was our favorite pool the Courtyard pool. This pool is a zero-entry leisure pool. We loved grabbing a drink from the pool bar and laying in the shallow-end! As we laid there with our drinks a complete feeling of peace and happiness rushed over me as I looked around at the gorgeous architecture of the Grand Floridian buildings and the lush courtyards and landscaping, all while I could still hear those amazing sounds coming from the Magic Kingdom! Absolute bliss!

Transportation to Epcot

Not only is your commute to Magic Kingdom practically non-existent but you also have a very fun and easy commute to Epcot! All you have to do to get to Epcot is hop on the monorail straight from the Grand Floridian to the Ticket and Transportation Center. From there you can transfer monorails and hop on the direct line to Epcot! It is so easy, fast and also fun! Something about monorail transportation is just more exciting than any other form of transportation! Epcot is my boyfriend and I’s favorite park so we loved being able to so quickly run over to Epcot even just for an afternoon!

Dining

The Grand Floridian has the best restaurants to fit whatever you are looking for! Everything from quick service and casual dining to signature dining and even a 5-diamond restaurant! A personal favorite for me is Grand Floridian Café, located just off the main lobby the atmosphere is relaxing and the food is outstanding! I highly recommend the Café sandwich! I get it every time I go, even though I try to convince myself to try something new I love this sandwich too much! A place I found a whole new appreciation for this trip is Grand Floridian’s quick service location, Gasparilla Island Grill. The food here is a step above any other quick service location. They actually deliver some entree items to your table after you place your order at the register. The menu has a wide select of delicious offering for breakfast lunch and dinner. You can also find pastries, snacks and grab-and-go items here as well. Something I loved was that they have a full-service Joffrey’s Coffee shop inside of Gasparilla’s! We loved getting frozen coffee to start the morning! Another amazing convenience is that Gasparilla’s is open 24 HOURS A DAY! So whatever time you get in from the parks or if you find yourself wanting a late night snack you can count on Gasparilla’s!

These are a few of the many reasons I fell in love with the Grand Floridian even more after staying here! I felt like a princess living in a castle! This is something you have to experience! When Disney releases discounts the savings percentage is always greater on the deluxe resorts such as the grand Floridian and we have some incredible promotions going on right now to make your travel dreams a reality!
