Rise of the Resistance’s Opening Day!

The much-anticipated Rise of the Resistance ride will be here this week.  The experience will open on December 5th!

Hollywood Studios will open at 8:00 a.m. and remain open until 10:00 p.m.  This extends both its opening and closing that day by one hour giving guests a longer time to spend on the planet of Batuu!

Looking at Walt Disney’s Worlds park schedule it looks like Epcot and Animal Kingdom will both be having Extra Magic Hours on December 5th.  Hopefully this will draw crowds to those parks and give others the opportunity to experience the new Rise of the Resistance.

Disney says this new ride is a massive, multi-platform, new attraction that is unlike anything that Disney has done before!  In this ride the Resistance needs your help and hidden in the forest outside Black Spire Outpost, the Resistance is gathering recruits for a secret mission.  Your transport will be captured by an imposing First Order Star Destroyer and Kylo Ren is on board.  Resistance fighters are at the ready to help you escape.  Along the way you will come in contact with favorite Star Wars characters including Rey, Finn, BB-8 and Poe Dameron.

My Top Picks for Quick Service Locations at the Four Disney World Parks

In last weeks blog I discussed getting your Advanced Dining Reservations at Table Service Restaurants in Disney World.  In that blog I recommended that you not make reservations for every day of your vacation and to leave some days just to plan as you go and not be locked into any one location at a specific time.  This week I would like to give you my top picks at each park for a Quick Service Dining Option that is still really good food and not typical burgers and fries.

Magic Kingdom

In Magic Kingdom hands down for me I always head to Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Square.  There are so many of my favorites on this menu.  My personal favorites would be the Trio platter which has fried shrimp, breaded chicken breast nuggets and battered fish served with hushpuppies and choice of green beans & carrots or french fries.  Another fav is the chicken pot pie or some healthy options like the grilled salmon or Harbour salads.  There is plenty of seating in this location.  I always head upstairs and get a seat by a window to people watch as I enjoy my meal.

Animal Kingdom

My pick for Animal Kingdom is Flame Tree Barbecue and I have selected it for two reasons, the food and the atmosphere of this location’s seating.  Flame Tree is located in the Discovery Island section of the park and you will easily be able to find it by just following the incredible BBQ smell.  They have ribs, chicken and pulled pork.  I’ve tried them all and love them!  My go to is the smoked pulled pork sandwich served with coleslaw and signature baked beans.  I have heard a lot of rave reviews on their baked macaroni and cheese with pulled pork so this is on my list to try next time.  As for the seating I mentioned, I like that it is outdoors and under nice shaded pavilions.  It is tucked away and I like to head to the area closest to the water overlooking Expedition Everest.  It is so quiet and peaceful down there and is the perfect place to recharge your energy for more exploring.

Hollywood Studios

I have to say that Hollywood Studios was always the park that I struggled to find a quick service location that had anything that I would highly recommend.  That was until Toy Story Land opened and with it Woody’s Lunch Box.  The menu here is not large by any means but everything I have tried has been delicious.  My favorite is their grilled three cheese sandwich and the tomato-basil soup.  The smoked turkey sandwich, totchos and BBQ Brisket melt are also good choices.  My only complaint is they need more seating so I recommend having someone stand in line to order while the rest of the family looks around for a family getting ready to leave and then grab it up quick.

EPCOT

Okay, I have left the best for last.  EPCOT is a foodie lovers park.  The quick service options here are endless and this is the one park where I have a hard time just giving you one pick, so I will break it down with a pick in Future World and then World Showcase.  In Future World I would head over to the Land Pavilion where Sunshine Seasons is located on the bottom floor.  This is a food court which has many options and you will be able to find something for everyone in your group.  There are different shops  within the court.  You can choose from:  Asian Noodles Shop, Grill Shop, Sandwich Shop, Soup & Salads Shop and of course a Bakery Shop to enjoy a sweet treat.  There is plenty of seating and if you plan your fast passes carefully this is where Soarin and Living with the Land and located.

In World Showcase there are many quick service locations each geared toward the cusine from the Country you are visiting.  Pick your favorite and you can’t go wrong.  I have to say I have had something from each that I have loved but if pressed to pick I’ll have to choose the fish and chips in the UK!

I hope you have enjoyed my quick service picks.  If this has made you hungry and wanting to plan your next Disney World trip please contact your Kingdom Magic Vacation travel planner to get started.

My Tips for Advanced Dining Reservations at Walt Disney World

Part of the fun of my Walt Disney World trips is looking forward to the food that I am going to get to eat.  Just as much as the rides and attractions, I look forward to the dining experiences that Disney World has to offer.  With four parks and the entire Disney Springs Area there are so many options to choice from when selecting a place to dine.

If you are a Disney Resort Hotels guest, you can start booking your dining reservations 180 days in advance of your trip and can make reservations for the entire length of your Resort stay – up to 10 days.  If you are staying off Disney property, you can still make reservations 180 days in advance of that first day of your trip and continue to make reservations as each 180 day mark arrives.

I think advance dining is great!  It guarantees that you will have your most important reservations that you want to experience.  This 180 day mark is extremely important not to miss if you have your heart set on reservations like Cinderella’s Royal Table and Be Our Guest Restaurant.  There are also some very popular restaurants like the Contemporary Resort’s California Grill and The Polynesians Resort’s Ohana.  These are restaurants that if you would like a reservation there I would suggest booking as soon as possible.

Now with all of that being said, I do not want to overwhelm you by thinking that you need to schedule every meal this far in advance.  Remember that this is your vacation and I do not know about you but the last thing I want to do is stress out while planning or enjoying vacation.  As I said before there are so many restaurants at Walt Disney World that even during your trip you will be able to find really good Table service dining reservations available.  When you schedule yourself out for every meal, you really lock yourself into being at a certain place at a certain time, which can add a lot of stress.  You never know what may change your plans such as the weather could be bad and you change where you want to be that day.  The last thing you want is to feel stressed because you now cannot change because you are locked into a dining reservation.  Disney does charge usually a $10 per person for no shows or reservations cancelled less than 24 hours in advance.

My suggestion is to schedule your must have reservations and then leave some of your vacation days wide open to do whatever you wish.  There are also so many really good Quick Service Dining options at Disney that are not just your traditional burgers and fries.  In an upcoming blog, I will give you a list of some of my favorite Quick Service locations at each park.  In addition, you will want to keep in mind the time of year you are visiting because EPCOT has so many festivals involving good food offerings that if this is something you enjoy you will want to have some of the meals while eating around the World Showcase.

If hope this helps you with planning dining on your next Walt Disney World trip and if you are thinking of planning your next trip your Kingdom Magic Vacation Travel Planner will be happy to assist.

My Experience Riding the Disney Skyliner! – Video

Walt Disney World’s newest mode of transportation is here! The Disney Skyliner has arrived! The Skyliner has been added to the Walt Disney World Resort transportation fleet alongside, buses, boats, monorails and even Minnie Vans! The addition of the Disney Skyliner now gives guests another option for Disney transportation. This efficient system is helping to alleviate Disney bus traffic by giving resort guests and park goers another way to get around property.

Not only is the Skyliner efficient and convenient, but it is also so much fun! I rode the Skyliner for the first-time last month and truly felt that this transportation system feels more like a fun ride rather than simply a means of getting from point A to point B. With the Skyliner it feels as though your journey is already a part of the destination! The Skyliner is an attraction in itself!

For me riding the Skyliner gave me a similar feeling to riding the Disney monorail system. If you have been to Walt Disney World before, then I’m sure at some point you have experienced the famous Disney monorail. The Disney monorails are icons of the Disney Parks and Resorts and I’m sure you agree that riding the monorail is a fun form of transportation and gives you that feeling of being on a ride rather than just a transportation system. I had that same feeling while riding the Skyliner. The way I see it, I am predicting now that soon the Disney Skyliner will be just as iconic as the monorail. I see the Skyliner becoming one of those staples that you think of when you picture Walt Disney World!

Currently the Disney Skyliner takes flights to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s NEW Riviera Resort opening next month! All Disney guests are welcome to ride the Skyliner. It is not just exclusive to guests staying at the resorts that are on the Skyliner line. In fact, the Disney Skyliner now provides guests a new way to park hop between Epcot in Hollywood Studios. After using the system to park hop between these two parks last month, I would say in my opinion this is now the easiest and fastest way to get between Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Now let’s talk about how the Skyliner works. Prior to me riding the system for myself, I didn’t fully understand how the Skyliner operated. I didn’t know if each station had direct flights to all the other stations, or if transfer flights were involved in order to get where you were going. My first day riding the Disney Skyliner I took every line available and fully experienced all aspect of the Skyliner and now I have a full understanding of how this great system operates.

You can refer to the map above to get more of a picture of how the system functions. All of the lines connect through the station located at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. From the Caribbean Beach station, you will find 3 lines you can go on. The first line takes a flight that stops at Disney’s Riviera Resort and then continues on to Epcot. The Second line at the Caribbean Beach station is a direct line that goes straight to Hollywood Studios. And the third line at the Caribbean Beach station goes directly over to Art of Animation and Pop Century. These two resorts share a central Skyliner Station.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach is the main hub station for the skyliner where you will catch all your connecting flights. All of the other stations have one flight option which will take you right to Caribbean Beach. With the exception of the Epcot Line because it offers the stop at Rivera prior to continuing onto Epcot. Likewise Disney’s Rivera Station since it is already on the Epcot line is another exception because you have two option here of either catching a flight to Epcot or over the other direction to Caribbean Beach.

With this knowledge in mind you can now plan out how to get from place to place. For example, if you were wanting to park hop from Hollywood Studios over to Epcot you would get on the line at Hollywood Studios which runs to Caribbean Beach and from there at the Caribbean Beach station transfer to the Epcot Line. Another example, let’s say you want to go from Art of Animation to Epcot. You would get on the skyliner at the Art of Animation station for the flight over to Caribbean Beach where you then catch your transfer flight to Epcot.

Disney has done a wonderful job with this new transportation system and the Skyliner is very easy to navigate. There are a lot of directional signs everywhere so you know exactly where you are going. And Disney Cast Members are always nearby and happy to help if you have any questions or need directions.

I have become such a big fan of the Disney Skyliner. I enjoyed my experience riding the Skyliner so much and it fills me with so much joy to know that this system is now open at Walt Disney World. I am excited for the future and what this means for new transportation or even a possible expansion of this system in the future!

My Experience in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge!

It’s official! Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is here! This incredibly immersive new land is now officially open to all guests at both the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando Florida as well as the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim California. After literally years of anticipation and waiting we can now all travel to the land planet of Batuu (the name of the planet depicted in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge) whenever we want!

I just returned from a Disney mega trip where I started in Walt Disney World in Florida then travel to Disneyland in California and then straight back to Walt Disney World! It was so much fun and Galaxy’s Edge was the common theme during this entire trip! When my trip began in Florida, I got to celebrate my birthday by attending a preview of Galaxy’s Edge a little over a week out from the land’s actual opening. I was in awe! Galaxy’s Edge is truly unlike anything else!

After checking in for the preview my group and I stood in front of the tunnel for a moment – the tunnel that serves as the entrance way into Galaxy’s Edge. I remember feeling in such disbelief that this was all real! I couldn’t believe that I could actually now walk through that archway! For years, I saw the very archway with scrim and boards all around it, blocking it off from guest. Now the day had finally arrived that we could actually step inside the land!

Once you step through the entrance tunnel the tiling and cement around you slowly fade into vibrant rock formations. The transition is seamless and so well done. You feel as though you really are stepping into a whole other planet! Disney did such an amazing job create a completely immersive experience with Galaxy’s Edge. You forget you are still in Hollywood Studios! Actually, at one point at the end of our visit in Batuu, one of the members of my group made the comment that we could head back into Hollywood Studios. We were all amazed because it is so true that this land makes you feel completely transported somewhere else. Even though you are still in Hollywood Studios, you somehow separate the two, because Galaxy’s Edge feels almost like a whole other park on its own!

During my visits to both Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World and Disneyland, I had a few different opportunities to ride the attraction here in the land, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. This ride gives you and your flight crew the chance to pilot the Millennium Falcon for yourself! What I love most about this ride is how genuine of an experience it is. You really are flying the ship! You can have an extremely successful mission based on your skills or you may crash the ship a couple of times! The ride is completely interactive!

Check out our new YouTube video for a taste of what this incredible attraction is like!

On December 5th at Walt Disney World and January 17th at Disneyland, the second attraction in Galaxy’s Edge will open! This second attraction will be called Rise of the Resistance. I am so excited to experience this ride! We know that this ride will actually be several different experiences all rolled into one attraction. Making this ride more like a journey rather than a ride! Disney has stated that the technology being developed in this ride will be groundbreaking! I am so ready to experience Rise of the Resistance for myself!

I am so happy that Galaxy’s Edge is now fully open and ready for guest enjoyment! Contact your Kingdom Magic Vacations Travel Planner today to plan your next Disney vacation and experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for yourself!

Everything you need to know about First Aid at Walt Disney World

You never want to think that you will need First Aid care while on vacation at Walt Disney World but it is good to know what is offered and where to find it if the need arises.  First Aid Stations located in the Walt Disney World parks are not just for you basic band aids.  Let me tell you about some of the things that the First Aid Stations can do for you.

Say you are in the park and your child is not feeling well and you think they may have a fever, you can just stop in and check.  They have thermometer strips available to give you.  There is an area in the back with beds where someone can lie down for a while if they do not feel well.

The First Aid stations will also have samples of medicine for many things that can come up while traveling.  They will have things for colds such as cold medicine, cough drops and even packets of tissues.  If you get a bad headache that you just cannot shake, they can give you samples of Tylenol or Ibuprofen.  If the headache is coming on because of the start of dehydration then you can get some powerade, damp cloths and a cool spot to rest until you are feeling better.  All first aid stations are equipped with Epipens for insect bites and allergic reactions.

While on vacation, you may not be eating the same way you would at home which can lead to an upset stomach or indigestion.  The stations will have samples of medicines to help relieve your symptoms.

If you get something in your eye someone at the station can help you flush your eye out.  If you are having an issue with your contacts they will also have contact solution for you to use.

Probably one of the biggest things you could encounter while in Disney World is blisters from all the walking!  Just stop in if this happens and they will have band-aids and bandages available.

These first aid stations also offer some special services that might be of use to some people.  Did you know that these stations will store refrigerated medication for you.  That will save you from having to go all the way back to your resort to take your medicine.  You can also come here to do your breathing treatments for things such as asthma, just bring your nebulizer to First Aid and you have a nice private cool place to administer your treatment.

If you are a diabetic or require any daily injections a First Aid Station is the place you will want to go.  They will even have special containers for disposal of your needles.

On my most recent visit I needed to visit the First Aid Station.  I was taking an antibiotic that made me more susceptible to sun exposure.  I had a reaction on my feet that made them so itchy.  I was getting really miserable and happen to be walking by the First Aid Station.  I walked in, they had me sign in, I showed them what I was experiencing, and they handed me a few packets of ointment that made me feel so much better.  It saved the rest of my day!  The staff and facilities were so great!

Now that you know what is available at the First Aid Stations let me tell you where you can locate each station at each park:

-Magic Kingdom – Located between Crystal Palace Restaurant and Casey’s Corner Restaurant near the restrooms as you are heading toward Adventureland.

-Epcot – Located in the Odyssey Center between Future World and the World Showcase.

-Hollywood Studios – Located in the Guest Relations building on Hollywood Boulevard near the front entrance.

-Animal Kingdom – Located at Discovery Island next to Creature Comforts/Starbucks location.

-Typhoon Lagoonlocated just behind Leaning Palms.

-Blizzard Beach, located beside Lottawatta Lodge.

Hope this information helps you if you ever find yourself or a family member in need of a little medical assistance.

How to Stay Cool At Walt Disney World! – Part 2 – Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom

This week I’m excited to continue with part 2 of how to stay cool at Walt Disney World! Last week I covered attractions to head to to get out of the heat in both Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Today I will be sharing the best places to head to escape the high temperatures when visiting Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom!

The following list feature wonderful attractions that typically have a low wait time making them great attractions to head for when you are looking to get out of the heat, sit down and cool off! Let’s begin over at Hollywood Studios!

Hollywood Studios has been going through a transition period at the moment in anticipation of many new and exciting openings! The biggest new expansion being Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge that opens on August 29th! So this list might change in the future as we get new lands and attractions added to this park. However this is the current list when visiting the park today and these attractions will remain great spots to beat the heat as long as they are still open at this park!

Hollywood Studios

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

The Voyage of the Little Mermaid is an adorable live stage show! It is a personal favorite of mine because Ariel happens to be my favorite princess! This show happens continually during the day and because of this there is typically never a very long wait. The show is roughly 20 minutes and is a great spot to sit down in air conditioning!

For the First Time in Forever – Frozen Sing Along

If you are a Frozen fan then this sing along stage show is a can’t miss! The show is hosted by 2 hilarious narrators and features Anna, Elsa and Kristof themselves!! This show is another great one to head to when looking to escape the heat.

Star Wars Launch Bay

Star Wars Launch Bay is located in what use to be the Animation building. The Star Wars Launch Bay is the current hub for all things Star Wars. The whole building is filled with great air conditioning and in here Star Wars fans will find tons of things to do! You can enjoy seeing movie props and displays, watch a movie about Star Wars and more! This is also the location where you will find Star Wars character meet and greets!

One Man’s Dream

One Man’s Dream is an incredible walk through exhibit that includes piece of History from the life of Walt Disney as well as the Disney company. There is also always a movie that you can watch in here. Sometimes it’s the One Man’s Dream film which shares the very inspirational story of Walt Disney’s life and career and sometimes it is an exclusive preview for a new Disney film coming the theaters. This exhibit is a great place to cool off inside

Muppet-Vision 3D

Muppet-Vision 3D is a continual show that typically has a low wait and you can get right into the next showing. It has comfy seats and provides a great spot to get out of the sun.

Now let’s head over to Animal Kingdom!

Animal Kingdom

Rafiki’s Planet Watch

While in Animal Kingdom you can take a train over to Rafiki’s Planet Watch where you will find many incredible exhibits all indoors in the air conditioning. Throughout the day, they do really awesome animal encounters in here and presentation about conservation. It is a great spot to check out.

Finding Nemo – The Musical

If you are a fan of Disney Pixar’s Finding Nemo then this is the show for you! Experience the story of Finding Nemo told as a musical adventure! This is a fun 40-minute-long show that gets you out of the sun and the chance to sit down and recharge.

Festival of the Lion King

This is another breathtaking show that is a celebration of the music and story of The Lion King! This show is 30 minutes long so it provides you with a great break from the heat. This show I very popular however so try to get a fastpass for this one in advance so you can avoid the main queue line which is partly out in the sun.

It’s Tough to be a Bug!

This 3D film can be found inside the heart of Animal Kingdom’s icon, the Tree of Life! You get to feel like you are the size of a bug yourself and through special effects get to experience what life is like as a bug! It is a cute show and typically has a low wait time, making it a great place to head to when looking to escape the sun!

We’ve done it! We have covered places to stay cool at all 4 Walt Disney World theme parks! I hope that my lists gave you some ideas for the next time you visit the Disney Parks! What I Would Do With One Day at Hollywood Studios!

“Disney Movie Magic” Celebrates Decades of Films From the Disney Family of Studios

Today I am excited to continue my perfect day series by sharing my perfect day at Hollywood Studios! Hollywood Studios has always held a special place in my heart. This park is a celebration of the golden age of Hollywood a place where the magic of the movies comes to life! As a movie lover who has always been fascinated by all things filmmaking, this park has always been so captivating to me!

Currently Hollywood Studios is going through a very exciting transitional time. The park has experienced many attraction closures in recent years as the park is preparing to make way for new rides, lands and experiences! August 29th Disney World’s newest themed land will open and call Hollywood Studios home, Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge! This is Disney’s largest single land expansion! Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge will be home to 2 brand new state of the art rides, unique dining offerings and one of a kind immersive experiences! Next year Hollywood Studios will welcome another brand-new attraction, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! This attraction will be groundbreaking for the Disney parks as it will actually be the first time that Mickey and Minnie themselves are featured in a Disney Parks ride!

First Mickey-Themed Ride-Through Attraction, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

As you can see this truly is such a momentous time for Disney’s Hollywood Studios and I am so excited for what is to come at this amazing Disney Park! Today though I plan to focus on what would be my ideal perfect day at Hollywood Studios as it is currently. Let’s get started!

Breakfast on the Boulevard!

I would plan to get to the park early and have breakfast at the Starbucks on Hollywood Boulevard. I love this part of the park! As I mentioned earlier I am a big fan of the golden age of Hollywood so spending time admiring the details on Hollywood and Sunset boulevard is one of my favorite things to do at this park!

Fastpasses!

Next I would plan to enjoy my fastpasses! Fastpass is a great service that allows you to reserve a time to ride an attraction in advance and skip the main queue line! This service is complimentary to all Disney guests. You get 3 fastpasses a day and once you use those 3 up you can use the My Disney Experience app to reserve more fast passes. That’s why my best tip is to make your fastpasses for early in the day so that once they are used you can get more! The fastpass system is wonderful to utilize with many of the more popular attractions that tend to get very high wait times.

My best advice would be to try to get a fastpass for Slinky Dog Dash! This is currently the most popular attraction in all of Disney World, it can be found in Disney World’s newest land that just opened last year, Toy Story Land. This ride is definitely a coveted fastpass to get!

TIP: If you can’t grab a fastpass for it, then my best advice would be to wait to ride it at the very end of the day. The line will typically be less at this time because everyone is watching the nighttime shows.

Other fastpasses that I like to get are for Toy Story Mania and Star Tours! Spend some time talking with your Kingdom Magic Vacations Travel Planner prior to making fastpasses to learn more about each attraction so you can get an idea of which experiences interest you and your family the most. Then you will have a game plan for which fastpasses you want to try to get.

Lunch!

After enjoying my fastpasses in the morning I would then grab some lunch from my favorite quick service location in Hollywood Studios, Woody’s Lunchbox! This quick service just opened along with the opening of Toy Story land last year! Like everything in Toy Story Land the theming is adorable and the food here is classic comfort food with a twist! I love the grilled cheese and creamy tomato basil soup from here!

Shows!

Five Can’t-Miss Experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for Summer 2017

After getting refueled with my lunch stop I would then plan to spend the afternoon watching some stage shows! Hollywood Studios is home to some amazing live stage productions! My personal favorite is Beauty and the Beast Live On Stage! I still get goosebumps no matter how many times I see this production! If you are interested in seeing some behind the scenes action of how stunts are done in movies then you have to check out Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! Other favorite stage shows of mine include the Voyage of the Little Mermaid and the Frozen Sing-Along!

Dinner!

If I could pick anywhere in Hollywood Studios for dinner I would have to go with the Brown Derby! This restaurant is a replica of the real Brown Derby that once existed in the real Hollywood! The Brown Derby was a hot spot for many show business elite. When you dine here you will feel like you have stepped back in time to the glitz and glamour of that golden age of show business! My favorite thing to order here is the cobb salad!

Fun Fact: The Cobb Salad was actually invented at the original Brown Derby!

Nighttime Shows!

Reservations Open Today for Fantasmic! Dessert & VIP Viewing Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

After dinner, I would then head to grab a spot to watch Fantasmic! This is one of Disney’s incredible nighttime spectaculars! Fantasmic is a celebration of the power of our imagination! The show uses many jaw-dropping special effects and features many popular Disney characters!

The Nighttime Spectaculars At Walt Disney World!

The nighttime shows at Walt Disney World are truly spectacular.  When you visit make sure you stay into the evening hours at each of the four parks to see the wonderful show that each has to offer.  At each park you will experience a very unique display that is sure to take your breath away!

Animal Kingdom

Since Animal Kingdom added on evening park hours they have added the Rivers of Light show.  This show celebrates the majesty of nature and features special effects and a thrilling musical score.  Eastern festival traditions are combined with technology, which makes for a beautiful nighttime pageant showcasing lantern floats and animals.  This show tells the story of how mankind has been inspired by animals and nature.

Hollywood Studios

Located on Sunset Boulevard at Hollywood Studios you will find the gigantic amphitheater which curves around a lagoon giving a great view of the nighttime show Fantasmic.  The premise of this show is you are in a dream Mickey is having where good will verse evil as he becomes a sorcerer’s apprentice with powers to control things like water, color and magic.  This show features many live performers, huge sets, stunning effects, pyrotechnics and thrilling music.  Mickey’s dream turns into a nightmare when the Disney Villains try to take over.  In the end you know that Mickey will win for a happy ending.

EPCOT

You will find Illuminations Reflections of Earth located around the World Showcase in EPCOT.  This show has stunning fireworks that celebrates the Earth and all of humanity.  There are also fiery flames all around the lagoon for a dramatic effect.  A 350,000 pound Globe glides out on the lagoon displaying the Earth’s history of humanity and achievements.  The combination of flames, lazers, fireworks, music and storytelling makes this show incredible.  That is why it has been around for 20 years.  Hurry if you want to see it because September 30th will be the last showing before a new show is revealed.  It will be sad to see it go but I am certain that Disney has an even better show ready to wow us.  As was the case when Wishes at Magic Kingdom went away to make way for the current show “Happily Ever After”.  So that brings me to the last park and for me my favorite!  That is why I saved the best for last!

Magic Kingdom

9 Must-Do’s For Fall Visits to Walt Disney World Resort

At Magic Kingdom the best way to end your day is with a viewing of the Happily Ever After fireworks show.  Cinderella’s Castle becomes part of the story by having state-of-the art projections tell a story of many favorite Disney animated films.  This show uses more lasers, lights, special effects and fireworks than any in the history of the Magic Kingdom.  The musical score will give you goose bumps and by the end I always have a tear in my eye.  Watch our new YouTube video to see highlights of what this show has to offer:

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Opening at Disneyland! & Coming Soon to Walt Disney World!

This past week, something major in Disney Parks History happened! Star War Galaxy’s Edge opened at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim California! After years of anticipation, rumors and speculation about what the land will be like, the walls finally came down and all of our questions were answered! Galaxy’s Edge is officially here!

Wow, is the best word to describe Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge! This land is completely blowing guests away! The land truly makes you feel like you have stepped out of the park and are on a different planet! You are fully immersed in the Star Wars universe! Every aspect of the land has been designed and thought out with absolutely incredible attention to detail! It is totally immersive!

To give you an example of just how much attention to detail we are talking about when we say attention to detail, specially designed Coke and Dasani bottles that look more futuristic were designed to be sold in the land! Disney didn’t want anything to take you out of the world of Star Wars! This level of immersion is next level and something that I personally am so excited to get to see in person!

Now that the land is opened at Disneyland, next up will be Disney World’s opening on August 29! Fans are so excited that this incredible new land will also have a home at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The food offerings in Galaxy’s Edge have been reviewed to be very delicious and they all feature an out of this world galactic spin! Disney has created every culinary piece to be apart of the Star Wars story! The famous “Blue Milk” has already been creating a buzz on social media! Guests love it!

Currently one major attraction in the land is open, Millennium Falcon Smuggler’s Run! This attraction lets you and your flight crew actually control and fly the Millennium Falcon! Your performance at your tasks onboard the ride will actually determine the rides outcome! This is a state of the art attraction that uses never before seen technology!

In a few months, the second attraction will be debuting in both Galaxy’s Edge at Disney World and Disneyland called Rise of the Resistance! Disney has said that this ride experience will actually be like several different ride experiences all tied into one overall journey that guests will go on. Nothing like this has ever been created before!

I am counting down the days until I get to experience Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge for myself! Contact your Kingdom Magic Vacations Travel Planner today to book your next visit so you can take in this out of this world new land for yourself!

Disney World Fastpass+ Tips and Tricks!

There is a lot of planning before you go on your Walt Disney World trip.  From where to stay to getting the desired dining reservations to do we need the dining plan and park hopper and adding on water parks.  There is a lot of choices and decisions to make.  One of the big items you have to address before your trip is getting those desired fast passes.  Without a fast pass you will be waiting in lines much longer and in the case of the E ticket rides you may not get on at all if you are not willing to wait hours for each.  Here are some tips and tricks for getting those precious fast passes.

-Book a stay at a Walt Disney World resort or Disney Springs resort and you will have a head start over other guests.  With your reservation, you will be able to get on the My Disney Experience app and get your fast passes 60 days before your trip.  At 7:00 a.m. on that 60 day out window, you will want to open the app and start scheduling your fast passes.  If you want to ride Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom, Slinky Dog Dash in Hollywood Studios or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom this will be your best opportunity to get those coveted fast passes.

-If you are staying off Disney property, you should purchase your tickets ahead of time and you will be able to link that ticket number to the My Disney Experience app.  Now you will have the opportunity to makes fast passes 30 days in advance of your trip.  Open the app 30 days prior to the first day of your trip and you will be ready to make fast passes.  You should be able to still get really good fast passes but do not be surprised if some E ticket rides are already gone.

-Don’t be discouraged if you did not get your desired fast pass before your trip.  There is still a good chance of securing a coveted fast pass.  People’s day-to-day plans during a Walt Disney World trip can change and people are always revising their fast passes based on the park they decided to go to that day.  So check the My Disney Experience app frequently, you might be surprised by what becomes available.  Many people make changes to their plans the night before so while you are in your room at night keep checking and you could get lucky.  That is always an exciting feeling!

-Play around with the times on the app.  It lets you select morning, afternoon or evening and then shows you what is available.  However, it also will let you select specific times.  Try selecting from those options and you may see a time that better fits your plans.

I hope these tips help you get the fast passes you desire.  Also remember that your Kingdom Magic Vacations travel planner is always there to help you plan and answer questions. Contact our team today to plan your next vacation!

Celebrate with the Incredibles at Pixar Place! NEW Experience at Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World!

If you are a fan of Disney Pixar’s Incredibles than you need to head over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to experience the Incredibles Celebration at Pixar Place! This exciting new area in Hollywood Studios is themed to Municiberg, the city the movie takes place in! Here you will find unique character meet and greet opportunities, delicious treats, photo ops and dance parties!

Pixar Place is the section of Hollywood Studios that was previously the entrance to the Toy Story Mania attraction. The area was themed completely to Toy Story with the ‘Barrel of Monkeys’ monkeys strung across the street and green army men roaming around. When Toy Story Land opened the entrance to Toy Story Mania was rerouted into the new land and Pixar Place was walled off as a backstage area.

Upon this transition, many theories and rumors began to swirl around regarding what Disney was going to do with the future of Pixar Place. Would it remain behind walls forever as a backstage area or would the area be used for a new experience? Well it didn’t stay behind walls for long! Pixar Place is back and now is dedicated to celebrating all things Incredibles! Here are some of the things you can look forward to in the new, revamped Pixar Place!

Dance Party

You can show off your best dance moves during a dance party hosted by an emcee. The party features fun music, interactive games and special appearances by Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible and Frozone. This is a great time to meet these popular characters that you typically don’t see in the parks and have the opportunity to take pictures with them as well!

Edna Mode Meet-and-Greet

Here in Pixar Place you can meet Edna Mode, the stylish and very sassy fashion designer from the Incredibles films! Your experience will begin by visiting Edna Mode’s Super-Suit Gallery. As you wait in line you can see some of the famous designer’s most popular creations! Then you get to actually meet Edna herself and take some incredible photos!

Food!

Throughout Pixar Place you can find food and beverage items themed to the Incredibles! There are some amazing snacks that can be had here including my personal favorite the Num Num Cookie! If you are a fan of the Incredibles films then you will know that the “Num Num Cookie” is also Jack Jack’s favorite treat! The characters often use the famous “Num Num Cookies” to reward Jack Jack or bribe him! Now you can try a Num Num Cookie for yourself! These cookies are massive, they are definitely sharable! The cookie is served warm, it truly melts in your mouth!

I recently stopped by Municiberg at Pixar Place for myself and had a blast! My highlight was hands-down that Jack Jack Num Num Cookie! It is delicious! I love that they serve it to you warm and fresh! I will be back for more! I vlogged my experience at Pixar Place, you can watch the video on our YouTube Channel:

A few days after visiting with my family I actually went back to the area with two of our INCREDIBLE Travel Planners, Alyssa and Karen! We had a blast taking photos with the fun photo ops that the area has!
