Pirates Of The Caribbean
First the attraction inspired the movie — now the movie is inspiring the
attraction! Get ready to set sail on this boisterous boat ride to
discover Captain Jack and his nemesis Barbossa interacting with some of
the more familiar Audio-Animatronics® buccaneers and adding a terrific
twist to the adventure — along with new special effects. The exciting
enhancements to this classic Disney attraction are another great reason
to join the Happiest Celebration On Earth!
The Pirates' Life for You!
Captain Jack Sparrow will be on hand to lead lighthearted "pirate
training." Kids will be invited to join the fun, interactive hi-jinks at
various times daily, beginning July 7 through the end of August, 2006.
Yo ho, yo ho! A pirate's life for me! Take a wild voyage through
secret caverns and fierce sea battles as you join the rowdiest rogues and
rapscallions that ever sacked the Spanish Main. It's a boat ride through
classic Disney swashbuckling adventures. Sail these treacherous waters in
search of pirate booty, but be warned: "dead men tell no tales!"
|
|
Disney Trivia: You depart through an 18th century Spanish
fortress known as "El Castillo — Torre del Sol" (The Castle —
Fortress of the Sun). This
was originally envisioned as a walk-through until Walt Disney saw
the possibilities presented by the boats in Disney's "it's a small
world" attraction at the 1964 New York World's Fair.
Pirates of the Caribbean was on the drawing board for years as a
walkthrough attraction. Walt Disney decided to use a boat system
similar to the one that had been so successful for "it's a small
world."
Pirates of the Caribbean was the
last theme park show that was personally supervised by Walt Disney.
This beloved attraction is one of
the few attractions featured at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Tokyo
Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris.
Ahoy! Pirates of the Caribbean
pillaged the 2004 Disney Magazine Reader's Choice Award for Favorite
Walt Disney World® Resort Audio-Animatronics® Attraction! |

Hop on this rollicking mine train through an Old West mining town for a
rip-roarin', rootin'-tootin' thrill-a-minute ride. If you're "mining" for a

Look for the gears near the station -- they form the silhouette

donkeys, possums, a goat, a longjohn-clad resident spinning through
the flood in a bathtub and a rainmaker whose name is Professor
Cumulus Isobar. |

The Barnstormer at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm
Climb aboard Goofy's crop-duster for a ride around the cornfields.
This kooky kid-friendly coaster is a kick! Take off from Goofy's barn, zip
your way around a fun-filled course and see if you can make a landing
without setting off those chickens!
This creatively themed and visually appealing attraction draws kids to
it like a magnet, which makes it hard to pass up.
Very short roller coaster ride that clocks in at just under 60 seconds of
thrill. This less than a minute of Disney magic can cost upwards of an
hour or more wait during peak times. Now your rational mind might be
telling you that it is simply not worth the wait.
However, unless you want to come off like the Grinche that stole Disney
you can either lie to your children by telling them that Mickey’s Toontown
suffered a terrible industrial accident and will be closed for the
duration of their childhood or you can beat it over to this attraction
just as early as you can.
Height Requirement: 35 inches / 89 cm
|
Disney
Note: On a recent trip to Walt Disney World we endured the wait
at the Barnstormer and when it was our turn found ourselves seated
in the second row. Much to our surprise and delight Goofy himself
came up the exit ramp and jumped in the seat in front of us. Well
needless to say that this was one minute of magic that our four-year
old is still talking about. |
|
|
Disney
Tip:
Here are two tips from Goofy: Make sure you clear the hairballs
out of your intake valve and don't land on any aircraft terriers! |
|
|
|
Disney Trivia: Mickey's Toontown Fair contains its own radio
station located in a chicken coop at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm. WACKY
Radio is hosted by Red Barns, "the rowdiest rooster on radio" who
plays "All Country — All The Toon!"
Goofy first appeared in 1932 in the
animated short "Mickey's Revue." There were 48 Goofy cartoons
created primarily in the 1940s and 50s. |

Space Mountain
Dare to be a rocket jockey and blast into the outer-galaxy past shooting
stars and other-worldly celestial satellites. Twist and turn in a tumult of
fun as you launch into the inky blackness of the nether reaches of space.
It's one giant leap for fun!
To classify this attraction simply as a roller coaster in the dark, while
accurate, it is a vast understatement. Creatively themed to simulate a space
flight to the furthest reaches of the galaxy with all its teeth rattling
jerks and turns has thrilled generation after generation of guests.
Minimum height requirement 44 inches / 112 cm
Fast

Disney
Tip: Space explorers who opt out of visiting Space Mountain
might want to visit the nearby Tomorrowland Arcade to wait for the

peak, ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. It goes right through
Space Mountain. |
