Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside

(Formerly The Dixie Landings)

Southern hospitality Disney Style

This moderately priced resort, which was formerly known as Dixie Landings, has recently merged with it’s long time sister property Port Orleans.
The Riverside Resorts 2,048 rooms are divided between two distinctly architecture and themed areas. The Alligator Bayou section are two story buildings designed and themed to represent a backwoods or Cajun theme, while the Magnolia Bend section is a series of two and three-story buildings that allow for a Mississippi plantation theme. Both districts enjoy meticulously landscaped grounds that only further add to the southern theming and overall enjoyment.

The Alligator Bayou buildings have two distinct features worth noting when considering selecting a room. One is that these rooms afford guests the optional use of a trundle bed allowing for a fifth guest, if that guest is a child under the age of nine or if the person is under five feet tall. Secondly it is important to note that the Alligator Bayou buildings do not allow for an elevator to access the second floor.

    Best Locations

In this as in all of Walt Disney Worlds Moderate resorts where your room is located does indeed matter.

Building 14 in the Alligator Bayou will put you closet to the main pool area (Ol’ Man River), main commerce building (lobby, arcade lounge, restaurants) and the main bus stop.

I want to be close to the main bus stop. Then request a room in building 14 or 15 of Alligator Bayou the main bus stop is located just out front of the main lobby and front desk area.

I just want to be close to a bus stop. Secondary bus stops are located at intervals throughout the resort area and service those buildings situated away from the main bus stop. Choose a room in building 24 or 34 of Alligator Bayou, this will give you easy access to a secondary bus stop and a quiet pool. Certain rooms in both The Acadian House and Magnolia Terrace will put you close to a secondary bus stop and a quiet pool , but depending upon which room you get may be a hike from the main themed pool (Ol’ Man Island) and the resorts commerce center and restaurants.

I want to be close to the quiet pool and a little seclusion. Then request a room in building 25, 28 or 39 of Alligator Bayou. You may want to request a room on the second floor to further reduce pedestrian traffic by your room

I want to be close to the themed pool and the kids playground. Then ask for a room in building 27 or 38 of Alligator Bayou or a room with a water view in the Magnolia Terrace.

I want to be close to the restaurants. All the restaurants are located in the main commerce building so request a room in building 14, 15, or 18 of Alligator Bayou

    Shopping

Fulton’s General Store located in the main building called Center Towne is a large one stop shopping spot offering everything from forgotten sundries and gift items to Disney Character and country styled apparel. In addition guests will find a limited selection of snacks, beverages, liquors and other foodstuffs. Hours of operation vary at different times of the year.

Check In Time: 3:00pm
Check Out Time: 11:00am

Bell Services will unload your luggage at your car following check in and deliver your luggage to your room. Bell Services will also pick up and deliver your luggage to main commerce building when you are ready to check out.

Disney Tip: Checking out but still want to enjoy the theme parks? Then let Bell Services store your luggage until you are ready to leave.
